First time coming here. I'm always super excited when I find a Michoacán style restaurant. I ordered the enchilada plate with morisqueta and bistec. The flavors were on point and I loved that it was a little spicy. However, the morisqueta was pretty salty, I wanted to tell them but didn't because I didn't feel comfortable. The enchiladas were great but they could have used more cabbage. We also got an order of birria and that was just okay, I didn't ask what kind of meat it was but to me it tasted like goat. The restaurant itself was very clean including the bathroom. The service was good we didn't interact as much but when we ordered the food and when they took it to our table it was fine. read more

Ran upon this little taco place today. I got the Carnitas Taco. It was very good. The tortilla was handmade, and the meat portion was good and not fatty like some places can be. The taco comes with onions and cilantro as well as some grilled onions on the side. The chips and salsa are also good and fresh tasting. The service is friendly too. WOW! I had never heard of this place until I found them on Instagram and won a free item. The place is located in a small parking lot next to a mini-mart, with limited parking, so you must get there early. Inside is a decent size, with plenty of seats for all. I ordered three of the quesatacos with consomè, and I'm glad I did. These were some of the best tacos I have had. They are crunchy; fill them with cilantro and onions, add spicy sauce and dip it into the consomè. They even pack them, so they travel well. Again, I am delighted with what I have ordered. For the item, I won I had the Menudo bowl also packed very nicely comes with everything you need for your delicious meal. Tried this place for the first time about a weeks ago. I was not impressed. $23.00 for a cup of broth?!!!!!!!!! what in the name of god! the location warns you not to park in a certain area because your car will get towed. Where are you supposed to park?! They close at 4 but we got there at 2:30 and they were sweeping and mopping while customers were still there. the food was not the best and highly overpriced. I can highly recommend other places such as Alanzos coffee shop that has way better food at a cheaper price. save your money and time. read more

Hat tip to the first reviewer for mentioning birria--I had never sampled this goat meat soup, so I came to try it. Verdict: very tasty, with tender chunks and shreds of goat meat in a well-seasoned chili based broth. I had only sampled goat in Indian curries, so it was nice to try a new preparation for this hearty, slightly gamey (in the best way) meat. I did find the broth to be a tad salty for my taste, but overall it was very flavorful, with a nice taste of chilies, but not so spicy that it nukes your tastebuds. It's a nice, mild level of well-balanced spice. A half dozen white corn tortillas and garnishes of lime wedges and minced onion & cilantro rounded out the meal. Customer service was very friendly, both at the counter and with workers servicing the tables. Incidentally, the gal at the front counter mentioned they serve *only* goat meat on Saturday and Sunday, so keep that in mind--they can't serve you, say, a carnitas taco on the weekend. :) There was an early lunch rush when I visited today (6/25/17). I showed up just before 11 a.m. and the place was absolutely slammed--all tables full, and a fifteen minute wait in line to order. Then, by the time I left around noon, there was barely a line at the counter, and several open tables. I don't know if that's a trend, but just another thing to keep in mind. While the birria was yummy, next time I'll just get a plate of goat meat with the sides and garnishes, as I saw many others doing. Compliments: This place must be good if the parking lot is full! Criticisms: They offer a full menu of typical Mexican plates, but only on weekdays. I was advised on weekends they only serve birria & menudo. It's a shame, because you'd think it smarter to offer more on weekends when people are more inclined to eat out. This place is okay at least in my opinion. I was here on a Sunday & that was my first mistake. They had a line out the door due to being one of the few places that offers menudo in Sac. We waited in line for a little over 10 minutes, my mom wanted the menudo & I wanted a torta that I saw displayed on the menu up top behind the register. I get us a table & my mom stayed in line when she made it to the register she gives our order & is told that they can't make the torta because they don't have anything left to make it anymore so she asks what they have & they said all they have is menudo & birria. So we were forced to order the menudo cause I didn't want want birria. Our order takes like 10 minutes to get to us & here is where my annoyance starts the menudo was alright but it was literally just the small pieces of meat & broth, a small mix of onion & cilantro & a side of tortillas. For basically $10 a bowl that wasn't worth the price at all as it seems like we could have made it at home. My biggest issue is that instead of telling us you don't have anything to make the torta or any of the other things advertised on the big menu why couldn't you just say I'm sorry we only serve birria & menudo on weekends? We had to find that out through another customer, They should display a sign at the door or cover the menu somehow & still state that they only serve those two meals on weekends it would make it easier for everyone especially someone like us who didn't know. The only reason we didn't leave was because my mom really wanted the menudo if it wasn't for that I'd have gone elsewhere. The service is okay & there's not much parking as they share parking w/a liquor store & some other business so if you're coming later you'll have to park in a little muddy field on the side. Went to go get some tacos, ask the lady in the front register of she can give me some extra Lime for the tacos because one slice of lime is not good for 3 tacos. She was so nice and said yes but as soon as my order was done a man approach to me and told the girl we only do 1 Limon if they want extra they will need to pay. I did ask the gentleman I will pay for the extra Limon but he was so serious that he said u know u can buy a xtra Limon next door because we dnt have enough to give away. I said you have a restaurant u know if u sell food obviously u will get extra lime. So short story I did not get no lime and no sauce. Apparently, after reading the reviews, this place might be the place to try "goat meat" from a "mexican food" place? Well, that's interesting to know, I might actually want to try again just to see how that would play out! I came to this place shortly after it opened by myself, had the usual thing I get at "Mexican food" places, it was good, but honestly? I am spoiled with portions, spices, and quality... What I ate was "okay", but it didn't replace my lust for my usual Mexican food place, and I never had the urge to revisit it for anything. My boyfriend had never been to this place because it closes at 5 PM and he gets off later than that. He stopped by and got us super nachos for lunch. The first thing I asked him, call me a glutton, was "does it feel heavy?" To which he replied, "no" :( I open it, and ... Omg for a $8-11 investment on super nachos you are expecting a slice of heaven (or at least I am...) this was just sad to me actually 1. The portions were 1/3rd the size of the nachos of the competitors that I go to within a 20 mile radius, no joke. I was sad. With nachos, it's usually I eat until I'm done eating and then there's leftovers I hurt myself eating because it's so good.... I opened the nacho container expecting to be able to pig out and I ended up having to make sure I saved enough for my boyfriend. Sad sad sad :( 2. That wasn't guacamole, that was some weird chopped squished avocado pile, not actually guacamole, I've never had avocado pieces in guacamole like that before, maybe it was made with a press which is fine, I've even eaten frozen and defrosted guac so I am not a guac snob but for the some reason the little square chucks of unseasoned avocados that they were trying to call guacamole annoyed me ^ this is a run on sentence but onto: 3. ... But again, this is my boyfriend's fault for not reading the menu and for the competitors' nachos fault for having (what might as well be) a gallon of creamy hot melted REAL cheese all over their super nacho chips and spoiling me for life 4. They had not particularly flavorful whole beans instead of refried beans and even though they didn't taste particularly delightful, I would have liked to have 3x the amount of them ..
