Went early on a Friday night so it wasn't busy yet but got busy later on. They let us choose our seats since the restaurant was empty early on. Service was very attentive, kept checking in and refilling our drinks. Food is good, pretty standard for what you would find at a sit down Italian restaurant. Prices were not bad either. The pizza came out with 8 slices so our table of 4 could each get 2 slices. Everything was very filling so none of us could finish but it's delicious. Nice cozy spot for a date night or you could have a large dinner there in their private room which was happening when we went too.

It's a nice neighborhood Italian restaurant. The bread for the table was delicious. The salad was simple. The pasta was very good and my chicken cutlets were tender and tasty and the dessert is amazing. and the service was nice .Looking forward to going back.

Came back and this did not disappoint- food is delicious, friendly service and reasonable prices! The Veal Chop Valdostana is a MUST GET. Stuffed veal with prosciutto and mozzarella topped with fresh mushrooms in a brown creamy sauce. Definitely big enough to share between 2-3 people. I will crave this on a regular basis. Their linguini in red clam sauce is consistently yum. Will be back! We plan on hosting a large event here and will report back after the party with a more thorough review!

Had a wonderful meal at Jimmy's the other night. I was really in the mood for Italian food, I wanted to try a place I had never been. We really enjoyed the food with each dish being well cooked and delicious. The complementary bread with dipping sauces was a really nice touch. I was also really happy with the size of the dishes, allowing me to take it home and have it for lunch the Next day (enjoying for a 2nd time). I also have to say that the staff was extremely attentive, probably the most in any restaurant I have been. Different people checked on, us brought water, and generally made sure our dining experience was going well. The restaurant is a good size, with a party room behind a set of glass doors .

Went to celebrate a birthday and I love that we shared all the dishes so I got to try a bit of everything. Staff is very friendly and love the warm bread they give.

This is your prototypical neighborhood Italian however lacking the zing. Dishes were all good just a bit under seasoned. One dish stood out was Penne Ala Vodka with grilled chicken.....except chicken resembles boiled instead of grilled, Other than that dinner service was quite fine. I know this restaurant has been in the neighborhood for many years and I'm sure they're well respected so I'm not closing the book just yet. Let's see if we can bump that up to a 4 star next time.

Quaint Italian restaurant with amazing service and incredible food! Jimmy's is a gem in Bayside. For starters, the bread and olive oil and eggplant dips were all absolutely amazing - I could eat those on their own for a meal and never get sick of them. We had a Napolitano pizza as our appetizer, which was the perfect amount of garlic and cheese with some tomato and a delicious crust. I had penne vodka with breaded chicken, which was phenomenal, and the chicken parm was massive and got great reviews from my friend. Definitely a spot to come back to over and over again for quality food at very reasonable prices.

Manager Beatrice is truly a gem -- very attentive, super sweet, and made my family feel so welcome. The atmosphere was warm, family-oriented, and comfortable. The prix fixe menu was excellent from beginning to end. For appetizers, my mom had the burrata with heirloom tomatoes, and my sister and I had Nonna's meatballs, which were delicious. My sister had the rigatoni, my mom had the salmon, and I had the short rib of beef, which melted in my mouth like butter -- that's how tender the meat was. For dessert, I had the cannoli's while my mom and sister enjoyed the chocolate lava cake. Everything was flavorful and beautifully prepared. The bathrooms were also nice and clean, which is always a plus. My family and I will definitely be coming back again -- even if it's just to stop in for a lychee martini and the grilled octopus, one of my favorite meals. Highly recommend for a family dinner, date night, or casual night out

Our server was very pleasant and happened to be the only one working at the time, though with so few guests, it seemed to be all that was needed. We ordered the three-course lunch special. One set included the meatballs to start, followed by the chicken Parmesan and bomboloni for dessert. The other included a Caesar salad, tagliatelle Bolognese, and tiramisu. There was a bit of a longer-than-expected gap between the appetizer and the entrée, especially considering we were essentially the only table being served, as the other guests had already finished their meal. That was a little frustrating. Aside from that, most of the food was solid. The only real disappointment was the chicken Parmesan, which was quite overcooked. It was unfortunate given that the kitchen was only cooking for the two of us. That said, the mashed potatoes, an unusual pairing with chicken Parmesan were excellent: perfectly creamy and incredibly smooth. The tiramisu was also quite good, but the real standout was the bomboloni. I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed them, since fried doughnuts wouldn't normally be my first choice for dessert. I would definitely return.

Mekayla, who had recently started working there, was our waitress, and she is delightfully bubbly and energetic, making our entire experience there that much more fun. We started with drinks (good wine and mixed drinks), then the warm goat cheese and beet salad, drizzled with a sweet balsamic dressing - wonderful! For main entrees, we had the chicken paillard (very tender grilled chicken over a bed of risotto) ), chicken scarpariello (with medallions of chicken and sausage, potatoes, peppers in a delicious garlic sauce), and pollo e penne (grilled chicken with broccoli rabe in roasted garlic sauce). All three were excellent, and paved the way for a very tasty tiramisu (with lady fingers along the rim as well as soaked with espresso) and Cloud Nine coffee (coffee with Bailey's, Amaretto & whipped cream - a delight!) We are only sorry that we waited so long to eat there! We're definitely returning to try more items on the menu! (I have my eye on their gamberetti e scaloppe provencal - shrimp & scallops over angel hair pasta with pink cream sauce)! PS - they have many gluten-free options!

This is because the food was overpriced for the quality of dishes served. The bread was room temperature and was obviously purchased from a bakery. I was expecting warm bread, recently baked in an oven--the kind that would instantaneously melt butter smeared with a knife. I had the fried calamari appetizer. The calamari was somewhat rubbery, and it was coated in a tad too much flour. I prefer mine flash fried in a dusting of flour. The calamari did not taste fresh caught, either, and It was served with a side of garlic aioli. My preference is for a side of marinara sauce, which pairs perfectly with calamari. I had the Lobster Il Toscano, which cost $85. It was lobster meat from two, one pound lobsters sautéed out of their shells. The lobster was between firm and mushy. It did not taste fresh caught, like what I get in the summertime for a similar price while dining in any of the seaside restaurants in the Hamptons or Montauk. I also ordered the New Old Fashioned, whose main ingredients are Maker's Mark and Vermouth. I did not like it because I do not like Vermouth. I overlooked that it had Vermouth in it when I was looking at the cocktail menu. My dinner cost me $132 because they put a mandatory $20 mandatory tip on the check. The bill was originally $112. CAVEAT EMPTOR: There is a sign saying that they want CASH TIPS! There is free parking in the lot across the street once the ticket is validated in the restaurant. The restaurant is in a Tudor-style dwelling, and it is big enough for celebrations and events.

This is, by far, the worst service I have ever experienced…read more I was really pulling for this place. I wanted it to succeed. I told everyone about it, that it was some of the best pizza in New York. I gave them so many chances. Last night was the final straw. Made a reservation for Friday night at 8PM. We arrived at 8:05. The waitress who's basically always there, who sounds like she smokes about a pack a day, was the only waitress there that night. I felt for her, but also, not my problem. We didn't receive water or a full set of utensils and menu until about 8:15. At about 8:25, she took our order, and we ordered a few apps and calzone and pizza. I had to ask for my coke about 4 times until she remembered to bring it. Water was NEVER refilled. We were never asked if we were ok. Around 8:50, we finally received our apps. It was ok, they've made it better in the past. Ambiance was starting to die down as the restaurant was clearing out. We felt a bit bad for her, but also, this wasn't our fault, that they were unprepared for a Friday night rush (her words). By 9:15, we were furious and our moods were ruined. We sat down at 8:05, ordered before 8:30, we were the only ones left and our pizza and calzone were yet to be found. Shortly before 9:30, it arrived. And again, it was pretty good, but not wait over an hour for it good. I wanted this place to succeed. The pizza maker from Italy deserves a better crew. The waitress doesn't know how to be a waitress, at all. No apologies, not taking anything off the check, not checking on us. There's no busboy, no one dedicated to take out, no manager. It seems that everyone plays each others roles, and quite poorly. They've lost a loyal customer tonight. We will NEVER give this place another try.
