Came here for dinner with my family and enjoyed all of it. Their dumplings are pretty massive and their seafood pancake is the bomb!!!!

Great value for the price! My favourite were the noodles in their flavourful beef bone broth. Second fave are their king dumplings - lots of meat and flavour. The third would be the beef or pork bulgogi - that one in itself didn't blow us away but the combo meal was definitely great value. We came on a Saturday night and it was completely packed. It's a small seating area so expect a wait a bit.

Small restaurant but fast service. Our party of 5 came for a late dinner on Thanksgiving Monday evening. The space is bright but tight. We crammed into our 4-seat table, and they added a chair at the end to fit our 5th person. No worries because the food is WORTH it. Such great banchans (different ones come with different combos), fresh kimchi and soups/stews (loved the kalguksu). Their mandoo (dumplings) have fantastic flavour and texture too.

Small Korean restaurant beside Baton Rouge. This sis my second time here. On entry, if there is a line, you enter your information and they will text you when a table is ready. Today we had the Pork Bulgogi Jungsik. The beef broth was a little bland. The pork was tender but a bit fatty. The seasoning and flavour were good. There was a lot of onions which I guess is used to increase the serving. Bulgogi and Kalgusu combo. The beef was chewy for the most part. This however still had a nice flavour. This was also how it was the first time I came so it seems to be an issue for this restaurant. The soup with this combo was good. The beef serving size is smaller than the pork. Service was minimal.

Solid soup noodles - I was very impressed with the flavor of the beef soup. The combos offer good variety and are excellent value for the price. Service was efficient and the food came out quickly. (However when we asked for another napkin, we were literally given one napkin.) It gets busy at peak meal times, so be prepared to wait for a table. Also it doesn't look like they have tables for groups larger than 4, so large groups may have to split up.

How it took me over a year to return to this restaurant, I have no idea. In fact, I can't believe I resisted for so long. This restaurant's kalguksu is comfort food in a bowl. Rich, flavourful broth paired with perfectly sliced, chewy noodles. Don't skip out on their giant dumplings either! You get so much bang for your buck here, even if the bowl of noodles doesn't look like a lot of food. Whether you're dining solo or with a larger group, there's something for everyone. There's usually a line out the door, so be prepared for a bit of a wait during busy times.

Tried the clam noodle soup today, so good No residue on the bottom of the soup, noodle soup good and the clams are so fresh and good Service is friendly Always comfort and lots of parking in the plaza

It's Korean home cooking in a fastfood design restaurant. Looks clean and nice decor. I ordered the beef combo with noodle soup. It comes with a variety of side dishes which is average except for the kimchi which was served in a separate bowl. Well made very fresh only thing is should had left to ferment for a couple more days to bring it's savoriness. I greatly recommend the kimchi If looks could be deceiving then I have been a victim over and over again. I thought the noodles in the soup would just be a regular soggy soft noodles but instead it was firm and al dente and the soup itself if between light and savory and it's good. The steamed gyozas are huge and every bite juices comes dripping out if you are not too careful you might find juices all over your clothes. I took some leftover gyozas home. And I question the way they handled their food because the next day I have experience some stomach issues and thought maybe the kimchi but found out my son also ate the leftover gyozas and also experience the same stomach issue I have. I saw other patrons also ordered gyozas not sure if they had any problems also. Now I'm having second thoughts going back to that place.

Perfect for the cool weather. Small restaurant with a small menu so they're specializing in their kalguksu noodles. I also always take a small pack of kimchi home too because it is so good!

Still my favourite place in Markham to get Korean dumplings and noodles. The only downside is the restaurant is small so if you come during mealtimes, you most likely have to wait. I love their kimchi dumplings!!

Great spot for Korean noodles! It was dinner time on Saturday and we already saw a crowd of people waiting outside for a table. We signed up on the waitlist and got a text about 20 minutes later to let us know our table was ready. We ordered two kalguksu combos, one with spicy pork and the other with bulgogi. This was my first time trying kalguksu which was essentially a bowl of fresh noodles in a beef broth with some veggies (I think it was zucchini?). This was a really comforting dish on a cold day! It also came with a bunch of side dishes and kimchi which were the highlight in my opinion. The bulgogi also tasted yummy, however I found the spicy pork a bit too spicy for my taste buds. It was a good thing the combo came with a bowl of rice! I can see why there is a wait for the food here. It's fresh, delicious, and has great value!

First time trying. Nice Korean noodles & dumpling place. Conveniently located in Richmond Hill. No need to go north Korea (Yonge-Finch) or south Korea (downtown) when you crave traditional K-food! Those HUGE mandus are quite impressive, and the set dinners are also good. A quick and easy place with reasonable prices. Easily get crowded. Recommend visiting early to avoid the line.

Came here on a Thursday night and it was quite busy. There's a tablet right when you enter to add yourself to the waitlist. They'll message you when your table is ready. The interior was normal, there was photographs of the food throughout the restaurant. We waited for approximately 20 minutes. I love that the menu had images of each item. We got the kimchi pork Mandu, bibim naengmyun (cold noodle) and the kalguksu (knife cut noodles). Kimchi was served as a side and it was pretty good! I can tell it's was home made and not store bought. The cold noodle was okay, it was served with vinegar and mustard. I wish there was a bit more sauce/soup though. The mandu was alright as well, it was pretty thick and packed with a lot of filling. Overall, a decent Korean restaurant to go to.

I often find Korean food too salty or spicy, but the dishes here were flavorful without being overwhelming. The portions were generous. My pork bone soup was not too spicy, and the pork spine had plenty of meat. The ginseng chicken soup included a whole spring chicken, the shrimp fried rice had lots of shrimp, and the seafood pancake contained more filling than batter. The dining room is spacious and comfortable, and even the washroom was very clean. It is a solid choice in Richmond Hill for a family dinner or a meetup with friends.

I saw this place had good reviews and wanted to try it since we were out this end. We ordered sweet and sour pork, black bean noodles, beef stew and seafood pancake. The staff was quite busy and sometimes hard to get their attention, our waiter was writing our order on napkins. Did they run out of notepads? Our side dishes came with our food and it wasn't too spectacular. The food was good and hot, but I've had better Korean food. Overall, I feel this place is good, but pricer end. Our 4 dishes with 10% cash discount was $85 before tip. Just the japchae alone is $27.99! Anyways, I think I would try other restaurants if I am in this area due to prices and service.

The tteokbokki was nice and had a deep flavor. Not too spicy and not too sweet. Rice balls was nice and soaked up the tteokbokki sauce. We love how the sides are refillable but I don't think we ever ask for refills more than twice as the portion is so generous. Hanyang Jokbal has always been consistently good, and it's why we always come back. The portion of food is always plenty, the taste is unmatched and the sides are delicious. While the food took some time it was understandable as it was very busy. The waiter was very apologetic about the wait. In terms of the interior, it's just one more thing that makes this place such a good dining option. The interior makes you feel like you're not in Toronto. While it does get quite loud, I think it just shows how much people are enjoying the food and the vibe. Hanyang Jokbal is definitely a must!

We ordered the bossam, seafood pancake, and budae jeongol and the bill came to ~$100. The bossam was quite a large portion and the flavour was quite delicious. Our favourite item was the seafood pancake. We devoured that and if given a choice to only order one dish, I would definitely recommend the seafood pancake. The budae jeongol (as a solo dish) could easily feed two people. They pack the soup in two large circular soup-like takeout containers and the ingredients in a square container - same as the ones that the bossam and seafood pancake came in. There were plenty of tteokbokki, sausages, cabbage, and ramen noodles. We put the dish together in a wok and kept it heated on a portable induction cooktop. They gave four containers of banchan: fish cakes, japchae, radish kimchi, and mandu. My only complaint about this experience (4.5/5) was their inaccurate waiting time. I called in around 5 PM on a Wednesday to place my order and they quoted that the order would take around 20 to 25 minutes. I showed up ~30 mins after I called and they didn't have the food ready until 5:50/5:55 PM. I understand that they're busy, but I would have appreciated a more accurate wait time.

I usually call in advance to order and pick up. Things that I love the most: Pork bone soup 5/5 - So hearty and tasty. On the spicier side but a must get! I usually get their hot pot size of pork bone soup to share with others. It comes with lots of pork bones and a huge piece of potato. Bossom 5/5 - I love their bossom here. The only complain is that their bossom comes with lettuce rather than napa cabbage. Still super delicious though. Banchans 5/5 - Their kimchi is the best banchan they have. I often times also buy just their kimchi to take home as it's very garlicky, fresh and delicious. Spicy pork rice 3.5/5 - A good rice option, but I still prefer their soup better. Jajangmein 3.5/5 - Another one of those dishes that I can skip. Only get it so that we can have a variety saucey noodle dish. I can't recommend this spot enough. Make sure to get their kimchi! But also make sure to check your order before leaving. One time I was there, there was a flustered teenager working the front of house. Because I'm a regular there, I touched my order he handed to me and noticed there was no hot soup burning my hand while holding the take out bag. When I brought this up, the chef came out and also mentioned that he had forgotten to pack my two containers of soup. Thank goodness I checked. Unfortunately when I got home, I noticed that he also forgot to pack my two white rice that comes with my soup. So just make sure to double and triple check before leaving when you get your take out! Other than that, it's a solid 5/5 for me!

This location is in the same plaza where No Frills and McDonald's is on the northeast corner of Warden & Highway 7. The parking lot is massive so it should not be too difficult to find parking here in the evening. It may be a bit difficult if coming here for lunch due to the dim sum restaurant also being in the same plaza. I got my usual gamjatang. I usually alternate between rice & ramen. This time I opted to have their ramen gamjatang. My husband got their combo (kimchi stew with mackerel). Once we placed our order, we got the complimentary banchan (potato noodles, spicy cucumber, seaweed, kimchi and pancake). The banchan was not as fresh as the ones we used to experience at their Bamburgh Circle location (so sad that this location closed) but was still good & edible. My gamjatang arrived piping hot & the portion was massive. The flavor of the broth was missing the depth of the Bamburgh location but it was still delicious. The portion was so huge that I didn't finish my bowl like I normally do. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal especially the mackerel. He said it's the best grilled fish he's had. It was charred well yet the flesh of the fish was still moist. The service was fine. Nothing to rave about. They did their job of taking our order and bringing our food to us. Nothing special. The only compliant that we had is that they were organizing the dishes and cutlery behind the counter making a lot of clanging noises which isn't pleasant while trying to enjoy our dinner. The broth wasn't very salty but still flavourful and once you let the peppers steep into the broth, they add a lovely spicy kick. Another substantial dish is the steamed pork bo saam ($49.99 for large) where slices of pork belly are kept warm on a hot plate. Diners tuck these soft meat slices into lettuce, Napa cabbage, and turnip with a smear of the savoury bean sauce for a protein packed bite. Our table was split about the haemui pa jeon ($28.99). The size of a medium pizza, it's made for a group. Personally, I found it way too thick and didn't contain enough ingredients to balance out the doughiness of the Korean style pancake. Conversely, my relatives preferred the heft as it contrasted the crispy exterior and soft interior. I guess it depends if you're a thin versus pan crust type of pizza lover. I'm firmly in the Neapolitan camp. I thoroughly enjoyed the crust that develops on the bottom of yachae dolsot bibimbap ($18.99). And the hot stone rice bowl contained a good combination of ingredients to ensure there was plenty of vegetables and beef to go around. De Chou's LA kalbi ($34.99) was rather neutral with very little sauce, so you mostly taste the beef. I personally would have preferred more sauce to help caramelize onto the beef ribs, but the older members of the family appreciated the plainness and liked that it was tender. (3/5) De Chou Korean Restaurant - Lunch Review…read more We stopped by De Chou Korean Restaurant for lunch today since we happened to be nearby. The sign said it opens at 11:30 a.m., and true to their word, the doors opened exactly on time. The restaurant itself is quite large and impressively clean -- that was my first good impression. We originally went in because of the sign outside advertising Korean ginseng chicken soup, but when we asked the server, he told us it's no longer on the menu. A bit disappointing, especially since my wife wasn't feeling well and I thought that soup would've been perfect for her. We ordered two Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbaps ($21.99 each). The portion was decent, but the flavor was a bit bland and not salty enough for our taste -- overall I'd give it a 6/10. We also tried the Japchae ($13.99). Unfortunately, it was too greasy, a bit slimy, and overcooked -- about a 4/10 for me. They served five small side dishes, which were just average (5/10), and a small cup of noodle soup that was lukewarm and slightly sweet -- not to my liking, as I prefer savory over sweet in Korean food. The total came to $65.51 before tip, and we left a standard 15%. To be fair, by the time we finished lunch, there were quite a few tables filled, so maybe other dishes are better. But based on what we ordered today, the food didn't live up to the price. Would I go again? Probably not.
