I ordered the bibimbap set for lunch. It took about 20 mins for my order to be ready. The bibimbap was good but I felt it had a bit too much sesame oil in it. Overall, I found the dish delicious and refreshing. One critique I did have was that the lid for the containers are a bit difficult to open, especially the one on the soup. Price was fair. Parking was easy which is a plus (the mall has a parking garage).

Jin Su Sung Chan 진수성찬 is a Korean restaurant. It means table full of good food, and indeed, this place is a gem. I've been to dozens of these food court restaurants. They are usually, fast, cheap (not so these days), and mediocre food. NOT this place. Their prices are much lower than usual, and they give you S*** loads of good food. It was a surprise!! If you come to Galleria Korean Supermarket on 1st floor, come to this place and eat some great, cheap, Korean food. Caution: They can be real busy during weekend lunch times.

Plastic everything for hot soup. Will not provide stainless steel spoon upon request.

Awful. Will not provide stainless steel spoon. Hot soup is making plastic container melt and plastic spoon only. $28 for this. Don't go here.

    Neat!

I usually get excited going to food courts. There are so many options. I like walking a whole circle to look at what each vendor offers. Upon arriving at this food court, I wasn't sure what to expect. The options were somewhat limited. I think there were only 5-6 vendors at most. The individual I went with finally decided on this place. We both were craving some mackerel. There were 3 different kinds. We decided on the broiled Atka Mackerel. The size of the mackerel surprised us. Lol We thought it would be a small to medium slice of fish. However, it was huge. I don't think I will be able to finish it alone. What surprised us even more was the flavor. It exceeded our expectations. It was super flavorful and fresh. We prefer some hot sauce & soy sauce, but honestly, it was fine the way it was. The fish came with rice, soup, and a small 4 compartments container ban chan. It looked so neat and cute. Everything was good. I like the fish a lot. I will definitely return.

This is my not-so-secret hidden gem galbitang spot. The soup is full of ribs and burning hot and enough to fill two bellies full! The price is unbelievable and I will not be surprised when it goes up.

Rude Cashier with 40 minute wait on food!
    Jennifer R.

I've been going to this place for a few years now because I like the beef soup but lately the cashier person is very rude. I asked her to give me extra kimchi and pointed out to her which specific one because it also had seaweed and sprouts, and she agreed and so I paid the extra dollar. When I received my order she gave me the kimchi only in a small container. I told her that's not what I ordered and she argued with me. At the end of it all, I just left the $18 food that I bought in the counter because she pretended not to understand me even when i was pointing at it and they wouldn't return my money. It's not worth ordering at this place if they can't get your order right and the wait is 40 minutes.

Usually don't have high hopes for places in the food court but this place really caught me off guard. Lately all of the food court restaurants seem like they are overpriced with tiny portions. The bbq pork I posted pictures of was about 16.49 I believe. It could easily feed 2 people! The portions were so generous I honestly thought it was a mistake until I ordered the same thing again the second time I visited and still got the gigantic portions. Not just big portions though but the pork was delicious as well!! Will only be dining here anytime we come to eat at Koreatown galleria. Love this place!

I'm used to dolsot bibimbap having rice at the bottom and the toppings on top but they do it upside down here so by the time I started mixing up my rice, the meat at the bottom was burnt to a crisp. Their grilled atka mackerel was good.

    Spicy Stir-fried Squid

Located in the food Court at Koreatown Galleria, I usually order my lunch at the counter right next door, however they were closed. It's been a long time since I last had spicy stirfried Calamara aka Ojinga Bokeum which looked tasty. I ordered it and it took a while for this order. However, it was worth the wait. This order was enough for three. I will definitely order this again! Not too spicy and it came with the seawees broth and a few Banchan sides. These needed more seasoning. Overall, a very satisfying dish.

    Beef bbq. So good!
    Lynn C.

Was craving Korean BBQ, and decided to come out to this place. They are very busy, but their efficiency was superb! We ordered the beef BBQ which came out on a sizzling hot plate. It was delicious! It had onions on the bottom and the bon chon that came with it was good too!

Galbitang (13.09). At half-way point. Recommend

Ordered the Galbitang. Only $13.09 with tax. A real bargain. Ordered for dine-in (mall seating). Galbitang (w/yam noodles on side) and banchan came in togo containers on tray. Portion is so large. Has some egg and sliced radish too. Get lots of meat you can tell was cut off bone. It was so good. Only half-way done and getting full already. Will be back to try other things on the menu.

    Soybean paste stew... very good!

On the other hand, there's valet parking for Anju customers by the restaurant, charging cash $6 or card payment of $7. Or if you dare or are lucky, street parking is not impossible. We arrived on a Saturday night at 7pm and the wait was light. Within 15 minutes we were seated. While waiting, there's a comfy lounge with big TV for guests to lounge. Led inside, we passed a photo booth machine, and with an outdoor beer garden ambiance, we were led to our seats. It's totally outdoor, no interior seating. They have a heat lamp for the night. There are big screens, great for the FIFA watching season. The lady's restroom is well decorated. You scan the code on the table to read the menu, under dim light. I LOVE THE MENU!! So many choices! From fusion such as kimchi and bacon pasta to traditional dishes such as seafood pancake and ramen, from grilled items like butter grilled squid to soup items like fish cake stew, they have it all! The Korean alcoholic drinks include soju, flavored soju, 4-5 kinds of Korean beer, and the Makgeolli rice wine. The prices are reasonable for the portions; most big items are 20 or slightly higher. We ordered Creamy Kimchi Bacon Pasta, Butter Grilled Squid, Korean Omelet and Bulgogi Dukboki. They all tasted delicious and the portions are an overkill. For three of us, we barely finished half. Service was like the Korean style, they appear to take orders, deliver food, and disappear. They did give us a new bottle of water. But they disappear until you call them for the check. The waiter was pleasant when picking up payment and engaged in a small talk. This is definitely a place for large crowds. By about 8:30pm, the wait lounge was filled. So I think the later it goes, the more crowd they get.

I have no idea how much valet parking is here. We were a small party of two. Upon arrival, we were notified they were out of RICE. Um..what?? That's a good problem (for them to have) but not for consumers. I feel this really limited our options to just soup. I honestly didn't want soup but there wasn't much else we could order. In fact, we regularly brought visitors here. They raved about how good the spare ribs were and even insisted that their last meal before LA should be at Ham Ji Park.  Here's my belated review of what I consider the best spare ribs in LA. From the moment the Korean-style spare ribs arrived at the table, it was clear this was a dish worth savoring. Each rib bore a beautifully charred exterior--deeply caramelized without a hint of bitterness--offering that irresistible smoky aroma the moment it was placed before us. The glaze was nothing short of spectacular. A perfect balance of sweet and spicy, it clung to the meat with a glossy sheen that promised flavor in every bite. There was just enough heat to make your taste buds sit up and pay attention, but it never overwhelmed the deeper, richer notes of the sweet components. But what truly set these ribs apart was the texture. Beneath the charred surface lay meat so tender it practically fell off the bone with the gentlest tug of a fork. Each bite was juicy and succulent, the result of careful cooking and a respect for quality ingredients. Ham Ji Park, you will be missed. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the food.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
