This was my second time ordering a custom cake here, and they've once again gone above and beyond. Not only was the design exactly what I envisioned, but the flavor (we chose chocolate cake with strawberry mousse and fresh strawberries) was even more amazing. Moist, fresh, and perfectly balanced--not overly sweet. Pickup was smooth, and the cake was ready right on time. When a place delivers consistent quality, friendly service, and delicious results--twice in a row--it's worth shouting out. Highly recommend for birthdays, celebrations, or any sweet occasion! Thank you Ji for the amazing cake for my husband.

I am going to kick off 2025 with my first review on Ji's bakery. To provide some context, I organized a SURPRISE birthday party for my wife with a custom cake. The biggest concern is that my wife can read me like a text book so I didn't think I can pull it off. But I did it!!! Please note that I had Ji's Cake boutique bookmarked for quite some time. It was just a matter of me figuring out when to execute my plan. Anyway, what you can do is go on her website to provide her details. We then communicated pretty much via text messages about the design and options. I asked her if she can come up with an Hermes like cake, which I am attaching a picture. The flavors available are: strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate. Ji mentioned that the best seller is the strawberry flavor so that's what I went with. Honestly, I had my doubts because most of the time you hear that custom cakes would look good but does not taste great. But in this case, I can vouch that the design of the cake is amazing and the cake tasted fantastic. My wife is super detail oriented and even she was mightily impressed with both the design and taste of the cake. This is absolutely a work of art!!! By the way, Ji was able to deliver the cake and I was able to pay her via Zelle. I also gave her more than a week noticed. I would totally recommend her for these custom cakes for special occasions.

Ji did my husband's birthday cake for his 40th birthday. It was absolutely incredible!! I asked for a Jurassic Park theme, and she made the most amazing creation. Everyone said it was the most beautiful cake they'd ever seen. On top of how amazing the cake looked, it also tasted absolutely incredible! I can't recommend her enough. Thank you, Ji's Cake Boutique for this beautifully made and well thought of wedding cake. This cake is a work of art. This cake looks so beautiful in photos and in person. All the details such as the bride and groom cake topper, the flowers on it and the vibrant pink colors... simply breathtaking. We love that this cake is layered with fresh strawberries inside. I've had Ji's cakes and pastries a few times at my friend's kids' birthday parties, so I already knew how pretty and tasty they are. Last Christmas, I ordered her cupcakes for dessert, and they were a big hit with everyone. For my daughter's 11th birthday, we ordered a Labubu cake and cookies, and they were amazing! All the girls at the party loved them. They were so cute and fun, and Labubu is really popular right now. The cake even came with a real Labubu figure, which my daughter was so excited about! I live in Las Vegas, so it's definitely a bit of a drive but I still made arrangements to pick up Ji's cake and cookies because I really wanted them for my daughter's party. Ji was super friendly and easy to work with. She even helped me figure out the closest pickup spot, which made everything so much easier. I really appreciated that! Everything looked beautiful, just like I expected, but what I loved most was that the cake and cookies tasted really good. I'm not a fan of desserts that are too sweet, but Ji's desserts are just right. My daughter even said Ji's cake and cookies were the best gift from the party! Thank you, Ji, for making my daughter's birthday extra special! I highly recommend her if you want something fun, beautiful, and delicious for your next celebration.

I contacted JI's short notice. I explained to her what I was looking for for my sister's birthday cake. She told me she would 100% be able to fulfill this. I called her on a short notice, three days before I needed the cake and she executed it flawlessly! Better than I even imagined! It's absolutely beautiful. Looove Ji's cakes. She creates the most beautiful cakes! But that's not the only reason why she became my go to person for parties. Her cakes are absolutely delicious. Called to order a custom cake and was able to connect with Ji. She was very candid and helpful about the whole process! Her cakes look good and taste great! I was surprised with this beautiful cake for my 40th birthday and it couldn't have been more perfect. My boyfriend wanted to surprise me with a special cake. I was nervous because, ladies you know. He ended telling me stories, so I'm grateful for whomever he spoke with because they talked him out of choosing some odd filling options. He means well but flavor profiles can be tough lol! Nevertheless, he did perfect! The exterior was gorgeous! I didn't want to cut it but so glad I did because it tasted equally as lovely. This was a vanilla cake (favorite) with a berry mousse. It was light and airy. And the frosting wasn't overly sweet, which I find in a lot of other cakes. I would highly recommend Ji's for your special occasion!

Wow. The cake was phenomenal! After a long extensive search for my wedding cake, I found Ji's Cake Boutique. The cake looked so beautiful and unique, more than what we expected. Ji, I am so pleased and happy for the artistic and wonderful cake that you made for my son Christian's birthday today. My son loves it and so our guests. They can't help but ask who made the cake. Not only did the cake look awesome but it even tasted delicious, moist and with the right amount of sweetness. It's super yummy. This bridal shower cake tasted as perfect as its look, which was much better than i ever expected. Ji was really dedicated with her work. She kept me updated with everything she was doing for my cake, from the flavor to picking up the best flowers. I wanted the cake to look greenery, and instead of putting more leaves, which might kill roses, she gave me an idea of using green carnation. Look how brilliant was that combination! I ordered a bridal style rose cake for my marriage ceremony. The cake is very very beautiful and makes that day special. The strawberry flavor the Chef recommended is amazing. The most inspiring thing is Chef's excellent service. She selected pink roses for the topping and these roses made the cake a big difference. Ji made the most wonderful Minecraft cake for my son's 7th bday. Our son loved it! And he kept telling us to take more pictures of all the great details she put into it. And the chocolate cake with the chocolate mousse was fabulous -- not too sweet -- just right! It helped make our little family gathering more special during these COVID times. And this was the weekend right after the Silverado fire evacuation where both our family and Ji had to be evacuated. Still, she was a delight and so easy to work with. I have been searching for a reliable bakery in the South Bay to design custom cakes for a while now. I came across Ji's Cake Boutique on Yelp and needed a custom cake within less than a week. Despite the quick turnaround, Ji's Cake Boutique was not only able to take on my order, design a beautiful cake, and deliver it to my home, but also the cake was one of the best I've ever tasted! Ji asks a lot of great questions when designing your cake, including what age group the cake is for. From there she was able to adjust the level of sweetness of the cake, which was a huge hit with my guests. I reached out to her again to design another cake for a birthday celebration. Again, the cake was one of the best I've ever had (red velvet) and the care and professionalism she puts behind each design is truly remarkable. Everything from our initial conversation to the last small detail on this cake, you can truly see her dedication to her craft in all ways. Ji really came through for me! I needed a cake last minute (aka 3 days before the event) and she went above and beyond to make my niece the most BEAUTIFUL cake. She even let me personalize the topper, and was a very fast communicator (which I love). Everyone loved the flavor, I chose strawberry. There were fresh strawberries inside, and the peonies on top smelled heavenly. I almost didn't want to cut it because it looked so pretty! The cake was packaged nicely for transportation and included a cake cutter too. She even sent me professional photos of the cake that I added to my album. Chef Ji was an amazing partner to work with in helping me figure out the perfect cake for my husband's birthday. She took the time to understand what I was looking for and walked me through how to think about the size of the cake and combinations of the flavors to make it a great experience. Ji's Cake Boutique is absolutely amazing. Let me start off by saying, I contacted Ji 4 days before my desired date. I was traveling to SoCal to celebrate my daughter's 11th birthday and Irvine is her favorite city to vacation in but I forgot the cake. I Yelped bakeries in Irvine, Ca and this is how I fell in love with her bakery and her exceptional work. Mrs Ji was more than accommodating she went beyond my expectations. I've been buying cakes for my children for over 30 years and this was the best experience. I've bought some inexpensive cakes and expensive cakes and this cake was worth every penny. My daughter was so happy. Ji even delivered it to our hotel and everyone that was out front of the hotel was complimenting how beautiful the cake was. It came with matches, cake cuter and a personalized happy birthday card from Mrs Ji. I wished I lived closer, I'd be at Ji's Cake Boutique for every event, lol. Everything was first classOk about the cake was moist and creamy. It was fresh strawberries with a mousse filling layered with whipped cream, three layered. I've been asking for my custom cakes for the past 4 years now. Ji does an excellent job just by telling her a theme or design you want. I trust her taste! She's amazing with details. This review is a year overdue...Found Ji via Yelp for my son's third birthday. It was a somewhat last-minute request and Ji was very responsive and went over and beyond to make our monster truck cake happen. The decorations were perfect but the quality of the cake was what really made it awesome. It was excellent, not too sweet and perfectly moist. She did not skimp on quality or short-cut it in anyway. Would highly recommend for any party where you want to take care of the parents/adults, not just the kids. read more

Ji answered the phone when I called at 8 pm Tuesday night and was super nice and professional when I inquired about a 2 tier round birthday cake for my daughter's 5th birthday at our house this weekend. She said no problem on making a beautiful Frozen themed birthday cake. I was about to place the order when she told me it would cost $350 for 2 tier cake. The size she quoted me for was a 10" diameter bottom & 6" diameter top (so not very big). Maybe I'm not familiar with how much custom cakes cost but this seems very expensive. I was even providing the cake toppers. I was planning on spending $100 but $350 is super expensive in my opinion. Just wanted to put this out there so you know what to expect about pricing because I didn't see pricing mentioned in the other reviews. read more

We visited a friend in Los Angeles to celebrate her 50th birthday party. Wonderful party, but most memorable was the cake they had ordered from Ji's Cake. I don't know what kind of cake it was but the cake and it's creamy frosting/filling was delicious. It wasn't too sweet, and cake was very moist and tasty. Too bad Ji's Cake is not where I live because my birthday wish will be for their cake. read more

Ji is amazing! Amazing service and a delicious cake. She was able to take my last minute cake order and decorate exactly as I wanted. It looked more beautiful than the picture I had sent her! They should probably just stick to donuts if they can't fully support the ice cream products. If I knew now/ I wouldn't have chosen to try there for ice cream. Very unfortunate, bc we probably would have loved the ice cream - but the experience clearly trumped the product.

Ji's Cake is pure perfection. The design was absolutely stunning--elegant, thoughtful, and beautifully crafted. But what truly impressed me was that the cake tasted just as amazing as it looked. The strawberries were incredibly fresh and naturally sweet, and the cake itself was moist, light, and so delicious. It's rare to find a cake that nails both aesthetics and flavor at this level. Every cake in Ji cake boutique is really unique. I love all the styles of cakes she suggested.You could never go wrong with any style you chose because they will all come out great. I bought chocolate cupcakes for my moms birthday and they were beautifully decorated. MY mom love them!! I thought the price was little too expensive, but after i ordered Wedding Cakes for my sister, it was totally worth of price. Deign was fabulous and cake taste soooooo delicious. the best cake shop in the LA area. read more

Cute designs. Got a cake for son's birthday but I had sticker shock. Overpriced but they do produce nice looking cakes. They work with you to achieve what you need, so that was good also. read more
