This place is awful. My boss had two small drinks and was clearly drugged. She left vomiting profusely and was sick for 48 hrs. When she went to the ladies bathroom... the stall had vomit from someone else there. The service was horrible and I called twice to speak with a manager and keep getting told that "Josh" the manager isn't there. I will continue to try to get in touch with him as I think it's important that management or owners know about what's happening in the establishment to prevent anyone else from getting sick like my boss did. Door Dash of course credited us back, but it still doesn't dismiss the fact that we were set back by 45 minutes and had to reorder from another restaurant. They are ok for a pub, the food is standard pub stuff. The highlights are definitely the hummus plate, which I really like. Their nachos are way overpriced and always super soggy and oily, everything is extra (salsa, guac, meats), once you picked all your stuff you pay way too much money. Service is friendly and we like the outdoor seating area and part where they can open the window... but I have to say, their table are the stickiest tables in town. You can always walk out of there with your arms in gunk, those tables need a good deep clean and reseal. Well and some of the really squeaky chairs could do with replacing. Instead, I got a 'Spring mix' when we called they said that it was wrongly described and that they never make a Cobb with romaine ever. No apology. Since my last review I have been back twice. This last time was after church on Sunday. We were starving and we needed food immediately, we were on the brink of death. Just KIDING. Anyway I should have taken photos. This statement can be good or bad, in this case it is the latter. My 5 year old ordered the sliders which she loved. My other daughter (11), husband and myself decided on the fish n chips. BIG mistake, in my opinion and everyone else's at the table. First, the waiter should have clued in on the serving size was way too big for a young lady. There was 4 big pieces of fish we could have shared. Which really pissed me off because my first thought was not being a good waiter and was plumping the bill. The fish was I swear dipped in Bisquick. I am not joking it had a pancake taste and feel to it. Not to mention that it was way to much batter. I had to dig out my fish with my fork and to boot the tarter sauce was not good. Gross we did not send it back, but we left knowing that we won't be back not even for the Guinness...so sad for us but they are not the only joint that serves a good pour. Service was not great we kept looking for our waitress that we love. If I think about it we like her so much that we have overlooked the quality of food because her service is awesome and the Guinness is perfect. Since his service was not so good the food really stood out to us for what is was. NOT consistent or appetizing. I wish I would have Yelped my other not so good experiences. Its also a great place to grab some grub before a movie as its next to Bella Bottega and they sell discounted movie tickets if you come for a meal. What a fun Irish pub! I've frequented it many times and it's a great place to go. The food is good, the prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is perfect and the staff is always friendly. The large flat-screens on the walls were perfect when having dinner during the Obama election results. :-) Also, the dual-seater booths have a added bonus of also being chess/checker boards for if you want to just sit, enjoy a drink with a date and play a game in a relaxed atmosphere. Finally, while the outdoor patio is just the sidewalk fenced off, it's still nice. During the chilly nights they'll light up the overhead propane heater unit which can also add a nice glow. Just don't bring your kids... there is limited walking room so a high-chair would be a burden on everyone. Plus, kids in a pub is just gauche and tacky. PRO TIP! If you go, and are also planning on seeing a movie at the Regal theater there, make sure you get tickets at the Pub with your meal! They'll be CHEAPER! read more

The salads were inconsistently dressed with a very odd tasting dressing. It was bitter, which was a shame because the greens were fresh and would have been lovely with a better dressing. Our server was nice and attentive. I ate about 20% of my meal and left the rest. My husband returned most of his, too. We won't go back. It was a total waste of money. Looking for an Irish pub with good food as well as drinks. This wasn't it! I ordered corned beef and cabbage and the pieces of corned beef in the plate were as dry as leather. My husband ordered the cottage pie and said it was ok but like the Shepard's Pie we've had at other Irish restaurants. Gave this place a try due to them having a gluten free bun option for burgers. They had the AUDACITY to charge $5 for the bun. It's morally and ethically disgusting to me that a company would exploit folks for money due to a medical condition. Celiac disease is literally protected under ADA. They are clearly taking advantage of people with allergies given that you can get a GF bun pretty much anywhere else for $2. So gross of management to set that price. Shame on them. read more

So I called JJ's and ask where is one of the meals and their answer was to call the delivery company and have them refund me the meal. Basically no dinner for someone. Some eastsider friends convinced us to head their way for a trivia night (a lot of fun) and to celebrate a birthday (even MORE fun). So I crammed as many as would fit in my car and we traversed the distance to land at JJ Mahoney's. The place was absolutely packed as evidenced by the full parking lot. On trivia nights, they are the busiest but we had a good table. Our wily friends were already there, firmly ensconced at a table to sit all of us. We ordered pints and eventually food, waiting for trivia to begin. I wouldn't have called it "geek" trivia as they did but maybe I'm used to a higher level of geek chat than the host. You're given the option to place a side bet for a cash pot and we all kicked in. We tied for first place and ended up in second. We won the monies though because the other team didn't pony up. Our group unanimously decided to give the birthday girl in our party all of the winnings. The service was attentive and friendly. Our server checked on us often despite her overabundance of customers. The bathrooms were clean and food came out quickly. Ah yes, the food. I enjoyed mine (the bangers + mash with TWO varieties of potato) and a small house salad. One of my friends didn't care for his Sheppard's (sic) Pie - for one, it was made with minced beef (should be called a Cottage Pie then) and grossly laden with cheese. I mean there was way too much cheddar melted on top that portion enough for two people! I'd skip it unless you are super hungry, care nothing for your cholesterol and plan to jog the 10 miles home. Overall I'd say that this place is an over-the-top "Irish" bar with lots of ephemera that screams, HEY LOOK AT ME, I'M IRISH! I prefer my nights out at a quieter pub with slightly better food. Hold your horses, or rather the fries... Here's the dilemma I had after visiting JJ Mahoney's. The vibe, the setting, the staff, the service, were all great. In short, it's a great place to relax, have a beer and conversation with a close friend, and be worry-free for a couple of hours. The food, however, not so much. Very conveniently located in Redmond, with easy access and plenty of parking. This place has been in Redmond longer than I have, which serves as evidence that the concept as well as the business model is working. The staff was really friendly and helpful, with one funny exception which I admit may have been my fault: the waiter said something about buy-one-get-one-free beer, but we couldn't reach an agreement whether it qualifies if I buy both beers, and my friend has the free one... We had a nice conversation, it took some time to get the beer going, and even longer to get the actual order. But we didn't care, since we came for the company, and for nothing else. On various screens strategically placed throughout the restaurant, one could watch WNBA (Seattle vs. Las Vegas), and some baseball game (I personally find the fact that it qualifies as "sports" amazing). I thought it was interesting that while World Cup is going on, people in a Sports Bar are sitting around glancing at baseball and women's basketball. No offense of course. I love basketball no matter who plays, but during World Cup? Why four stars? For everything BUT the food. Great place to hang out with friends, have a drink (or five), enjoy the ambiance of an almost authentic Irish Pub. But the food was nothing to write home about. The Reuben Sandwich arrived cold and rather sour. It didn't compare to the ones I remember from the East Coast. My friend's chicken strips were too thin and too fried. But the winners were the simplest home fries which were soggy and flavorless. And yet, if I wanted to hang out, and the food quality or presentation was not an issue for me or a requirement for the event celebrated, I would go to JJ Mahoney's without hesitation. This place is a pretty typical restaurant that adds a couple of Irish themed dishes, decor and beers to its menu and then calls itself an Irish Pub. The food we got wasn't even close to Irish themed, but I do have to say it was pretty good: bacon jalapeno poppers, fried calamari, bacon wrapped shrimp, mac & cheese poppers and onion rings (to name a few). We were there with a group of 6-8 people and shared most of this stuff. The bacon wrapped poppers and shrimp were awesome. Usually you get these tiny little shrimp that have flabby under cooked bacon somewhere near it. The shrimp were massive and the bacon was cooked to a very dark brown. The poppers were equally well done. I don't know why the rest of the world like flabby undercooked bacon. The calamari was pretty terrible, but also pretty average, if you get what I mean. I guess no one knows how to cook that. When our group first arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty and they tried to sit us in the most awkward seating arrangement I've even seen. Half of us on some couch in front of a fireplace while the rest of us gathered around or something. They did move us when requested, but I found it odd that they would try to squeeze us into such a strange place to begin with when the place was empty. We were really there to drink, and drink we did. Our large table was in their dining room area and they sat several families next to us over the course of the night. From what little I remember, we were quite a spectacle. Not sure how much those being sat next to us appreciated that. All in all, I'd skip this place again. Horrible. I went in and ordered the schnitzel. It was VERY breaded. I tried dipping it in the sauce brought out with it, and it was so bland. I stopped the server and asked if it could be taken off my order because it was so bad, and he said "well, you've eaten some. I can take off $5." REALLY?! I will NEVER be back! If he had said "sure! Normally I give a place 4 or 5 visits before I review, but it might be awhile. We walked in found a table right away. I was expecting the place to be more pub like inside. This place is cheesy Americanized fake pub. Maybe the outside doesn't match the inside or something - although it would be nice I wasn't really expecting a real English/Irish pub. Beer list short. Guest beers blah. Food is expensive. Taste ok, but chips too much salt. 15-20$ plate, for the offerings is too much. Service ok but they completely forgot one of the included items, - soda bread. I had to ask another waiter for it. He said it was just sitting. Hmm, seems odd the main waiter didn't bring it and no one questioned the plate just sitting because it wasn't busy. Someone please find me a zero star. Went there today with my son who has a tic and needs to watch his food and hence he had some food that we know won't flare up his tic. Asked the waitress if he could eat his stuff while I ordered my food and she was nice enough to say ok (thank you nice lady). Some macho wanna be, Mac Daddy wanna be bartender then came out and overruled the waitress and ruthlessly said "it beats the purpose of us being a restaurant if we allow outside food" I said I was ok with him charging extra since I had already ordered a drink. He would not buzz, but then again, fool is me who sought some wisdom; some humanity; some courteousness; some politeness; some gentlemaness from an arrogant bartender who probably felt great that he could impress his fellow waitress by imposing his will on me. I really did not need this bartender to tell me what beats the purpose of a restaurant since I own 3 in Seattle. At mine we practice cordialness, we take whatever it takes to create a smile on our guests and boy do we go out of our way to accommodate parents with young children. The bartender without a doubt got his sense of I'm the man moment. Sadly though he pawned his humanness to get that. He sold his employers goodwill to achieve that and he cost some business for his employer for failing to have a little heart which every real men have. I feel sorry for the parents that raised him to be a jerk. I feel more sorry that a business establishment fell victim of their employee who values his crookedness and his arrogance more than generating revenue for a restaurant that cuts his paycheck. Lastly, to the bartender that felt his ego was important than than a father and son moment (especially since we were returning from raising some money for the poor earthquake victims in Nepal), I'm damn sure you would not have treated us the way you did we if our skin color was same as yours.
