I should start by disclosing that I ordered through some meal delivery service and the ordering experience was quite lacking. I didn't really have the ability to make my poke bowl customized, and so I opted out of that option and instead got the Chicken Bento with two sides. At the end of the day, I am not really sure what I ate, but it was fairly good. I will start with the edamame, which had a seasoning on it, that was more than just salt. I have never had anything like this with edamame before and I very much enjoyed it. The rice was really good, and the vegetables were also very tasty. There was some kind of thick, white, minced (or pureed) vegetable that was ok. The chicken was a little tough and mostly flavorless. The three stars is mainly due to the ordering experience and the chicken. If I were to rate the veges and rice, it would be four stars. I imagine that those things are more important in a poke bowl then a bento box. I will be back. read more

I only got boba here so I can't speak on the food, but the boba was good. I got 0 sugar which I always do and found that the jasmine milk tea was a bit weak in flavor without it, like I was drinking milk that had a little bit of tea in it that was barely discernible. This usually isn't an issue at other boba shops so I was a little disappointed. That being said, boba usually isn't meant to have 0 sugar so I can't fault them too much for it, and the other two drinks we had were good. I'd come back for sure and I'll definitely try the poke some time. read more

I've stopped by JJPoke a couple times now for bubble tea, and I think it is a very good choice for bubble tea in Pittsburgh. Both times I've been there, it has been pretty busy with people ordering and eating in the small space. I ordered my usual brown sugar milk tea with tapioca boba, and it was very good. The boba were fresh and chewy, if a bit on the small size. I like my boba big! When I go back, I will probably ask for a little more ice as I thought it could use a some more. As an ice connoisseur, this ice was ok, just not exceptional like some. Overall value was OK. The parking is a bit of an issue if you are trying to find somewhere close during the evening rush as I was. Parking is not allowed from 4-6pm on both sides of the street. A Pittsburgh meter maid was sitting in her car and thanked me for asking about the parking and said she was going to ticket all the cars there. You've been warned! I really wanted bubble tea, so I got back in my car and found a spot on Forbes a couple blocks away. Overall, a solid boba spot in the 'burgh. read more

I actually didn't know about this place, having not been to Oakland in a while because of the pandemic and I usually order sushi when I'm craving raw fish - but a lot of places on Uber Eats were closed today so I saw this! I'm glad I did. I got the Rainbow Love bowl and it's really an excellent value for what you get - I've been to other poke places in Pittsburgh that are way overpriced. The fish seemed fresh and the sushi rice was nice and vinegary. The only thing I'd do differently is ask for no onions next time (there were a lot for my taste) but I'll definitely try another bowl or create my own another time! read more

Love this new Poke place in Oakland! They hadn't been open long before COVID so I am glad to still see them in operation. It felt very safe getting a takeout order there as all staff had on face masks and face shields. The poke bowls were delicious and I liked how you could either order one of their suggested combos or customize your own. Prices were very affordable and they also sell a variety of asian snacks. The menu has plenty of variety of bases, protein, toppings, and sauces (I tried the spicy mayo and it was great. Plus they had great bubble tea. The portion was a good size as well.
