Ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich + fries for delivery via Grubhub for lunch (we work from home). Arrived promptly. Fries are nicely seasoned. Chicken sandwich was awesome. Came here on a Tuesday around noon, there is just one gal working as a server for the whole place. She did a great job for being by herself. The steak is sirloin , it came out medium rare which is what I ordered. Often if you order a steak and it's thick the inside will be too raw and tough. This wasn't the case. Ordered my hash browns extra crispy and they came out that way. Service was quick enough. Prices are okay. $3 for a coffee is a bit high though lol. read more

Delightful! This little gem is tucked away, on Barbur Boulevard, in SW Portland. The service is friendly and attentive, with 60's and 70's Rock & Roll softly playing in the background with a sparse but attractive decor. I came in for breakfast on a Tuesday morning and ordered two biscuits and gravy with eggs over easy and hash-browns. I asked for crisp bacon which came perfectly crispy, tasty, but not burnt, as so many restaurants will do when asked for crisp bacon. The over easy eggs were perfectly prepared with just the right runnyness of the yolk and the egg whites properly finished. The two biscuits were substantial (one would have actually been enough for me) and smothered in a delicious gravy. The hash-browns were properly crispy, very tasty, and a perfect complement to the eggs. I highly recommend JJ's Cafe for breakfast and will eagerly return to sample the lunch menu very soon. read more

This little cafe is the perfect spot for a quick and quiet breakfast. Service is fast and efficient, and the food is quality. There was only one server when I walked in, and despite having six tables to herself, she still made it a point to greet every table in a timely manner and made sure no one was waiting for anything. This little cafe is in a tiny strip mall along Barber Blvd. The strip mall looks pretty shabby, I almost didn't go in, but I'm glad I did! I have been to many very well known popular places in Portland for breakfast and none of them can beat their biscuits and sausage gravy, five stars, I was so surprised, their breakfast food is really good. Needed to go somewhere for lunch and found this place with all the 5-star ratings. Intrigued... It's in one of the little strip malls on Barbur Blvd. It's very open inside. Sat down and waitress came by pretty quickly with menus and water. I got the reuben, since they offered it and I figured was a good test for a restaurant. My lunch companion ordered the French toast. Reuben was excellent. Tasty meat, good Russian dressing, and good sauerkraut. Everything was moist, not dried out (you can learn something, Zingerman's), no need for artisanal bread. And it came with tater tots. The French toast, huge portions, pretty good and came with ham and eggs. Couldn't finish the French toast between the two of us. Service is very efficient. For a cafe, it was a pretty good experience. I'd return for a second meal. read more

Came here after finding a nearby, seemingly much more popular, establishment didn't accept debit cards. Really great place! We have been there 3 times now and had a great experience every time. Haven't tried them for lunch yet, but the breakfast menu is excellent. Great omelettes! Delicious! I had the Classic Club today. It's a simple sandwich that almost no restaurant gets right, but this one was perfectly made. It put me in a good mood for the rest of the day.
