My gyro was so good. The meat was great. I do wish there was more tzatziki and veggies, but that's ok. The dolmades are great, the Greek dressing was good. I was sad they didn't have an tabouli salad :/ so I tried their rice instead. Was not impressed with the rice. Tasted like boxed rice honestly. The service was nice. I liked the feel of the place. Very hole in the wall family like ran place. I like places like that.

The fries were good but I couldn't even eat my gyro. When I unwrapped it from the foil the inside was dripping with grease. The bread was soaked with grease and so was the inside of the sandwich. Gross read more

So I rarely give 5 stars, but this place deserves it. I got the hummus deluxe with Chicken, the chicken was seasoned wonderfully and cooked to perfection. The Tabouleh was the freshest I have ever had (I have had Greek across the country). And the Hummus was to die for, perfectly blended, fresh and the best I have ever had- though I ordered a side of Tzatziki Sauce which was forgotten, still this place deserves my 5 stars by far! love this place and we be back many times to come! read more

This place is near my work so I've been there frequently for lunch..food has always been delicious and fresh. Staff is super nice and the place is very open and bright. I mainly get the JJ's combo with the Kifta and Chicken kabob...comes with a Greek salad and portions are big. Always my go to spot when I'm craving Greek food. read more

The food is great, the owners are excellent with my kids. 4 and 6 years old. Never a complaint about us walking in 5 min to close and placing an order to go. Decent food, but they are really inefficient and can't multitask. I love their hummus, it's probably my favorite of all the places near me. But, I can't stand how long they take to prepare food, even simple orders. If you order anything with meat on it, you're going to wait a while. If you have a lot of food in the same order, might as well get comfy for the long haul and prepare for a wait similar to a sit down place. Today, I was in the mood for hummus, but I also knew I didn't have much time to wait. So, I ordered plain hummus and some fries, which shouldn't take that long. More than 15 minutes later, still no food. I finally had to go up and ask how long it was going to be. Based on how long it took, I thought I would at least get fresh hot fries. But no, they were just warm. So, it took them 20 minutes to throw some hummus into a container, wrap two pitas in foil, and put some already cooked fries in a container. I think they just tackle preparing food in the order they are placed, without any consideration for getting smaller, quicker orders out while waiting for larger orders to cook. read more

Found JJ's a few months ago and have eaten here a dozen or so times when we travel down from Prescott Valley. The food is outstanding and you get your order within a few minutes, no long wait times. The establishment is always clean, never seen a cleaner beverage station! The workers are always very friendly, if your looking for a quick bite this place will not disappoint. read more

Grabbed a gyro sandwich for lunch and it was okay. For one I was a little disappointed that they put so little gyro on the sandwhich. The meat itself had good taste. Also instead of having buffalo sauce like most gyro places do, they had red hot seasoning. Like a dry rub kind of thing. Wth? Will I be back? Maybe if I'm in a pinch but not if I have time and options. I'd suggest they get real buffalo sauce and put a little more meat on their sandwiches read more

What a friendly bunch at this great little place!!! I hadn't written a review yet and I've been her about 7 times. Simply put, food is delicious, fresh and quality ingredients including the fresh brewed tea. The owner takes such pride and the place is so clean! The prior business was a joke compared to JJ's. This new restaurant is just spotless. Clean bathrooms and i swear you could eat the yummy food off the floor lol. I'm coming back! read more

I love Greek food so I thought J would check this out because it is near my office. It was ok but a little disappointing. Greek salad which I love was blah with no olives. Babaganouj nothing special. I've been here more times than I'd like to admit... The food is great (chicken shawarma is my favorite), and the price is fair. The dinning area can get pretty crazy around lunch time but they manage it fairly well. Also, If you're in a hurry you can phone your order in! read more

I had the gyro pita and fries. Gyro was tasty and the fries were fresh. I would order it again but I think I would ask for the sauce on the side. It was just a little too much and the pita didn't hold up towards the end. All in all, a good gyro lunch. read more

Stopped in one afternoon for a Gyro and saw that they had Italian Beef sandwiches. I was hesitant to try it as I was thinking how good can an Italian Beef be in a Greek Sandwich shop! Well let me tell you that it is delicious! I am from Chicago, home of the Italian Beef Sandwich and it took me right back there! Very delicious! It is served with an order of fries and it's really a great value. In addition to that the Gyros are excellent too! But I have to say that the service is amazing. The Owners are very friendly and make you feel like you have known them all your life! You must try the food here. You will not be disappointed! read more

I really don't understand the good reviews. I think its because its the only Greek place in the side of town and for 10-15+ minutes around this are JJ's is your only option. The service and employees are really friendly. The lentil soup tasted good. But the chicken gyro was so soggy and disgusting. The meat was very questionable and didn't look like chicken. The fries aren't good either, worse than Burger King. But the staff is friendly so they get a star. I just do not like the food and I love greek food. Nino's greek cafe in Encanto, 25 minutes south of JJs is the place to go if you're craving greek. read more

I feel like giving this place 3 stars is pretty fair. I'm always on the lookout for a good gyro and delicious hummus. I don't want you to think this place is bad, because it's not. It was all tasty! The prices are decent too and the portions are huge. However, I didn't expect the hummus to taste like grocery store hummus. The gyro meat was pretty good too and obviously was shaved off a rotisserie which is the only way to do it! But it had a strange crispiness and seemed overdone. I'm not privy to seeing behind the scenes, but if I made a guess... The meat seemed pre-shaven and then haphazardly reheated. It seems like a busy place so I get wanting to save time, but people are paying for this. I was also disappointed with the pita bread as well. I expected something fresher than I can find in a bag at Walmart. Anyways, I would probably go again if I had a gyro craving and nowhere else was open. Especially since their tzatziki sauce is amazing! read more

My husband and like to support local eateries and found JJ's Gyro on Yelp as we were doing errands on that side of town. We both had a Gryo sandwich and we loved them. The seasoning was perfect and the pitas was fresh. Would highly recommend eating here. We plan on going back, when in the area, and will try something different. read more

When first opening my gyro, I thought I asked for a plain gyro when I asked for light onion, however, all the toppings were on the bottom. We ordered one falafel dinner and one schnitzel dinner, both with two sides and a soda and a water apiece... total bill came to $58.00 - YIKES!!* My partner found it hard to cut her chicken with a plastic knife and for me, with 6 falafel balls, I was given only one (1) piece of pita bread. When I asked for additional Pitas, they gave me only one (1) more. The food was decent, but the presentation and prior reviews didn't match. Overall, a disappointing result altogether. First impressions are lasting impressions... the impression I got - thank, but NO THANKS!!

The horiatiki salad is delicious as per usual and you'll want to get extra of the garlic bread they give for the table. The star is the baklava cheesecake though. Honestly there's only one place that's close to this cheesecake and it's in Athens. This beats it though!

Sent here and chatted with the owners for a while. Food is outstanding, much better than it was before, and very fresh. Salads are crisp and don't taste like they've been hanging out all day. The Gyro is very flavorful and not so fatty like other places. Most use Kronos Gyro's, but the meat they use simply tastes much better. Lamb here is amazing. Glad they have it. Very well cooked, very juicy and flavorful. Baklava is outstanding. Head and shoulders above others I've tried. Owners are very, very friendly and open about the business, and the restaurant itself is much cleaner and far more organized than the last. No more kitchen fights, which I suppose is a tragedy for all those entertained by the old owners but who cares, the food and friendly atmosphere is a welcome change. Will be coming here much more regularly than before, where I only went to get a quick bite to eat because better restaurants are too far. This one stands head and shoulders above those and it's close by, which is great. read more

I recently had the pleasure of trying JJ's Gyros and I cannot stop raving about it! The chicken shawarma sandwiches are absolutely delicious - bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. What a shocker this place was! I intended to order a Gyros but I saw a sign that said "Italian Beef" and it was a special with frys! So I thought, why not try it! It was amazing! I am from Chicago and I know what an Italian Beef Sandwich should taste like! This was as close to Chicago style beef sandwich as it gets! My husband had the Gyros and he said it was very good! It was very reasonable and delicious! I am still thinking about it and want to go back soon! The staff is very friendly and nice! This is a place to go for sure! An awesome place to eat, the food is some of the best Greek food I've had and the tzatziki sauce is the best I've ever had and I've been to a LOT of Greek food places. It recently changed owners in the past year, and the new owners really made the place something special. They really care about the food they serve and to make sure you are getting the best meal they can give. You'll get awesome food and customer service here. I can't recommend it enough. read more

Best food of this kind you will find. Very Authentic and the best in town without a doubt. You will really understand the quality when you get more into the menu than just a typical Gyro sandwich. Order the Beef or Chicken Shawerma. Try the rice , hummus, or even the french fries are delicious. read more

BOMB.COM! I think it's beef and another meat ground together and then cooked over a flame. The meat is delicious. The Gyro comes in a flat bread with a fresh-veggy-like taste sauce and big chunks of fresh tonite and onion. I dont like fresh onion so I order mine without. Highly recommended. read more
