And surprisingly, this happened to be a very well known restaurant as our other coworkers knew about it! It's located across of CubaNu Restaurant & Lounge on the corner of Lewis St and Main St in downtown Rahway. There's paid street parking and parking garages around the area. My coworker and I shared their Calamari Al Forno, tossed with Italian sausage, hot cherry pepper, and balsamic glaze. And wow. Who would have thought balsamic glaze with calamari would be sooooo good! I'll definitely be ordering that combination again. The mix with the Italian sausage and cherry peppers added a nice kick to the dish. Both of us could not stop eating it even though we wanted to save room for our pastas. Our meal was off to a great start! I ordered their Linguini de Mar which was supposed to have four seafoods: shrimp, calamari, mussels, and clams. Unfortunately, mine was missing the calamari. However, the pasta was incredibly flavorful and the seafood was cooked perfectly - not overdone or underdone at all. YUM! My coworker got their Cheese Ravioli with the Bolognese sauce (unsure if it was extra as I didn't see the check). She loved her pasta as well! She's usually a light eater, but she devoured half the calamari appetizer and all of her pasta, which speaks volumes about how much she enjoyed the meal. I felt that the one downside was the unusual amount of water I drank (maybe ten cups?). This was my own personal indicator that there was definitely some sort of flavor enhancer which wasn't a negative thing. I'm not certain, but the food was very good, so kudos to them if that's the case. Overall, definitely a hidden gem! We unfortunately didn't try their pizzas/pies but this will definitely be on my list again the next time I visit. Or I may opt in for another round of calamari al forno and pasta again, haha!

Bartender Emily was full of cheer and helpful with dining suggestions. I had a beer and the meatball app to start, and a pie for dinner. Nice thin crust which is the reason I sought Nancy's. I observed other diners w pitchers of Sangria, as well as bountiful family-style salads. I took leftover slices with me, and yes... I was "that guy" eating pizza on an early morning flight.

I've driven by this place MANY times over the Years but this is my 1st time here. Nancy's is a time capsule. You've get that old school restaurant that has never been updated, but that's what makes it great. Friendly staff that makes everyone feel welcomed. Pretty simple menu, full bar, hometown style crowd of patrons. Food is, of course, made to order but with a reasonable wait time. Casual vibe hometown bar/restaurant vibe. We had the Rice Balls w/cheese & the Italian Pizza. They are known for their pizza, it is a PAPER THIN crust. You can still kinda pick it up the traditional way, lol, if it's a lighter toppings piece. Great experience, will definitely come back. Grades: Rice Balls w/Cheese: A+ Italian Pizza: A+

It is one of my son's favorite restaurants. The staff is great and I usually see familiar faces when I go there which is nice to know they aren't turning over employees constantly. It has a familial vibe while still managing to be modern. My favorite meal is the sausage diavlo, it's basically sausage and peppers in red sauce with pasta. My favorite pizza is the Nonna pie, I like to add garlic and onions and it's such an indulgent treat. Im pretty sure they use the garlic from the garlic knots and it's absolutely mouthwatering. Another huge plus for my family is they have a considerable vegan menu. My brother's whole family is vegan and it can be challenging ordering out in the area. It was definitely busy when I went; the place was packed and the parking lot was full, which says a lot about its popularity. If you're hungry and need something fast, this is a solid option. The pizza itself was good and hit the spot, though it's not somewhere I'd necessarily go out of my way for. One thing that did bother me was the food handling. The same employee who took my payment also put my pizza in the oven, and I didn't see any gloves being used. Under normal circumstances I would have said something, but I was short on time and very hungry. Still, it's something that shouldn't be overlooked. Overall, it's a convenient place to grab a quick bite, and I might return if I'm in the area, but the hygiene practices could definitely be improved.
