For years, I'd driven past this place. Off of Roswell Rd. it's a pretty nondescript looking business that from the road itself, anyone passing would just see a sign that said "PIZZA." One day, I went to the bank in the same plaza at a fairly busy time of day, to where if I wanted a chance to get into the line for the intersection light, I had to go deeper into the plaza so I could turn into the main byway in order to get in line. It was at this time that I saw that there was a little sign that said "JJ's," and they advertised a pizza lunch buffet, and if there's ever one thing that catches my gluttonous eye, it's the word "buffet." Being the genius that I am, it was dinner time when the wife and I decided to give this place a whirl. It was convenient, and we were jonesing for pizza without having to get remotely near Johnson Ferry Rd. No big deal, the buffet could still happen another time. JJ's is located in East Cobb, Marietta, not far after getting onto Roswell Rd./GA-120, in a shopping district called East Lake. Look on the side of the road with a Wells Fargo and a Taco Bell, and it's in there, next to the Marshall's. Parking is plentiful as it often is in the 'burbs. Entering JJ's, it's a very relaxed and homey aesthetic, and probably can't seat more than like 25 people tops; a couple of booths, and a few tables. Lots of things fairly frequently seen at most places advertising New York pizza, framed photos, checkered floor. I would rate the pizza of a pizzeria, if I had it; the wife was pretty pleased with it, but I actually still haven't had it yet, because the times I've gone, I've always gotten the chicken parmigiana sub, because for a hair over $10 for a sub I can't finish, fries and a soft drink, it's a combo that I can never seem to resist. The sub is exploding with chicken and cheese, and I don't really know what constitutes what a chicken parm is supposed to be judged on, but all I know is that I love JJ's, and I get it every time. The best part is that half of it is usually good to fill me up, and then I can enjoy the other half of it often times the next day, it's so generously portioned. The service has always been friendly, the location is easy to get to, and the price is just right. I love that they're a local business in my general area, so it makes it easy for me to come by whenever I'm in the mood for a chicken parm. One day, I'll try the pizza lunch buffet, but for the time being, they're my go to for a good chicken parm and a filling meal at a reasonable cost. read more

Saporito's used to get ordered in from my parent's house all the time when I'd visit there, being easily located right down the street at the corner of Robinson and Roswell. While it was good enough to keep them ordering once every other week or so, I never really saw why they bothered: the food here is kind of bland for Italian food. The pizza, while definitely better than corporate chains, just seemed to be missing something. My dad always got this chicken and broccoli dish that didn't have much of any flavor at all really. My dad is known to eat anything though: he puts ranch dressing on fruit salad. I don't really know what that means about his tastebuds, but he really dug the hell of that broccoli and chicken. To me it seemed coated in wax. The lasagna I had here once was quite good though. I think most of the business they do here is carry-out, as any time I've been in to pick up food it's been empty. They do offer an all-you-can-eat special on pizza now (which I believe is $6.99), which seems too good a deal to pass up. read more

Lost my large pepperoni pizza ordered online. I guess they gave it to another customer. Asked for a refund for the pizza but I instead was offered discount on future purchase. I waited 5 more minutes for another pizza. Requested crispy wings but they were soggy. Pizza crust was very doughy in the middle like it wasn't cooked properly. I was given a free piece of cheesecake that I didn't ask for. Very doubtful we ever order food again here. read more

My bf and I ordered pizza by the slice. We ordered Hawaiian, Meat lovers, white meat lover and white pizza. Can you tell we like meat and cheese? The white pizza was by far the best! It had just the right amount of ricotta cheese which appeared to have some herbs mixed in! So good I am drooling just thinking about it! We also ordered the garlic knots which were so fresh, soft, and warm. They had the right amount of garlic and cheese. We also ordered the lemon pepper wings which were super crispy on the outside nice and juicy on the inside. I would definitely come here again and order a whole pie of that white pizza. Really nice local pizza shop. Great taste. I'm there every Thursday for my specialized medium veggie and typically don't mind leaving the gang a $10 + tip. I've learned though, the tip amount I give and the day I go to get my pie depends greatly on the pizza chef for that day. Steve typically shows no appreciation for my weekly Thursday ordering at the shop and associated above average tip. And constant inaccuracy of my order. It's as if he is the personal guard of extra onions, green peppers, and extra sauce. Not cool for a weekly customer who tips pretty good. The same exact thing applies to the young lady they have making pies from time to time. The only reason I continue going back is because of Brian. Great personality, makes connections with the customers, and makes the pies accurately based on the order. Which is HUGE. He also recognizes I'm a weekly repeat customer, unlike the other pizza chefs. Its worth going to JJ's, but in my opinion only go when Brian is making the pies. HE'S THE BEST!!!! The all you can eat lunch special is life!!! My favorite pizza here is the stuffed pizza, but most of the meat only pizza's I've tried have been great. There has not been a change in quality since the name change from Saporitos. I honestly would give 4 stars here, but I don't know if I can ask for a custom slice yet. If I'm only restricted to what was displayed for buffet, then yes, 3 stars. If I can ask for a all meat and mushroom pizza and get it on the buffet, 4 stars. More selections outside of pizza, like cheese bread, cheese sticks, spaghetti, and meatballs (don't judge, I'm a carnivore XD) would make the all you can eat even better. read more

Ok I love this place but I would like to see them focus on customer service. Greet your customers immediately acknowledge them and say I'll be right with you, if your busy. This isn't Boston - this isn't New York or Jersey. Get with the customer service Program. It really shouldn't matter where you are in the country and how old you are. Elevate your service to the level of your food. I'm still coming back- I'm a loyal customer but I like to see small business that take their game to the next level. They were generous with the pizza toppings, the wings were amazing, and the people there were very nice.

Saporito's has a very popular all-you-can-eat pizza and calzones lunch special for only $6.99. The restaurant has a variety of pizzas available behind a glass wall and you just let the server know the slices you want and he will reheat them and bring the slices out to your table. They also take requests if there is a certain type of pizza you don't see available. Their pizza is New York style, so the slices are huge. While they are not the greatest quality, the pizzas are decent for the price you pay. In addition to the pizzas and calzones, they also serve salads, subs/hoagies, panini sandwiches, and pasta (spaghetti, ravioli, etc.). So while pizza is their specialty, they do serve other types of Italian food. You can customize your subs, although I haven't tried it yet. The restaurant is somewhat small, so it can get crowded during lunchtime. They have TVs inside to watch. Service is satisfactory. read more

Tried it for the first time tonight and was pleasantly impressed. Damn good slice NY style. Hand tossed, thin and big with just the right amount of crunch. Fold it up and enjoy. Good deal for dinner too. Had a slice, an italian salad with nice and fresh ingredients, and a beer for under ten bucks. Super bonus for me they have a well maintained pinball machine. Hard to find these days. Soprano's. Not my favorite pinball but for the shape it's in quite fun to play. Easy to overlook, it's nestled next to a Marshall's and Dance Studio. This is a no frills northeastern style eatery. Service isn't bad but like any good home-owned eatery they gauge their customers and follow up when they get to know them, I respect that. They have the standards on the menu and pizza is pretty good. People in past reviews keep calling it NYC style pizza and it's more so New Jersey style pizza. Tad bit thicker crust and not nearly as greasy. I'm in no way, shape, or form opposed to real 20-inch NYC style cheese grease but hate all the chain spots for adding a hydrogenized/hydrogenated grease into their pans a la PJ, PH, and Domino's. A crust drenched in oil is no pizza crust. At some point this hydrogenized crust not only became acceptable but the norm for most of middle America. I actually got here straight from work and was mostly in this area to pick up a custom order at Cajun Meat (freaking awesome, have to go again so I can hopefully write review of day on Cajun Meat) next shopping quadrant over and thought I'd grab some beers and this looked to be an acceptable spot. The single beer prices are stupid, I got a craft wheat ale and budlight but the pitcher prices are GREAT. Due to Cobb's *** *** laws I can't get a pitcher myself but both beers I got were fresh. Annoying thing is when I equate to pitcher price, hate getting 32 oz. of beer for the same price as 64 oz, thanks Cobb. The main guy taking my order did check to make sure kegs were fresh/cold, another appreciation point. My 2nd favorite thing was that I got to sit at a corner table with NFL network on and actually listen to the the replay preseason game announcers, as crappy as they were. I think Rams were playing the Packers and as a die hard 9er fan I had to pay attention. I'm also a big time Jeff Fisher fan and knew Janoris Jenkins would tear it up as a rookie, UF cat. It's become a rarity now in days to go to a beer/pizza/wings/sports spot that will play the announcer audio and not play trendy music. I'll be back here for beer and gruden on monday nights. The meatball crumble on top of my pizza we phenomenal. It's been a long time since someone properly topped a meatball pizza and Saporito's did it. On my next trip I want to try the Stromboli, baked zitii, and meatball philly cheesteak. Garlic knots were proper too. I think my absolute favorite thing in the place was the goodfella's poster over the pisser and those old school Michael Jordan and Larry Bird baby picture paintings hung around the wall. read more

We ordered pepperoni and feta (our go to toppings) and an order of kids chicken tenders. The pizza was awesome. The crust had just enough crunch to hold the toppings but wasn't chewy or soggy. The kids chicken tenders were awesome, although a little bit too much breading, but the portion was enough to feed my nine year old and fill her up. Bonus - they deliver! Our other favorite pizza place doesn't so on nights we don't feel like venturing out this is perfect. I do wish they'd expand the specialty pizza selections to include more options. Ok- SO I went back the other night because I am crazy like that. The pizza was good, not as good as the first time, but still good. The service was excellent. I re-checked the health score and they got a 96!! They had moved it from where I originally saw it.. maybe they saw my first review. :) But now its a 96. Awesome. So, they deserve 5 stars. I've been going to this place since 2007 when it was Sapporitos and have always enjoyed the unpretentious yet decent quality of the food. Recently I had a bad experience after I accidentally left my prepaid debit card there. I called a few days later when I was retracing my steps trying to find it and was pleased that they did have it. I went by three days after the call and the card had been "removed" from the register and the remaining $150 on my prepaid card was wiped out. Someone went shopping across the street at Kroger. I would be wary of going there if the person who stole my card and used all the funds is still employed. Left a very bad taste in my mouth for this place. read more

Good pizza in Atlanta is a rare commodity! Staff is friendly, food is consistent (and above average). I have read earlier reviews, and if found it clean! And I'm big on that! Pizza is straight outta NYC! If you have been there you know! Beyond food, the business seems to be very involved in the local community and offers coupons and a loyalty program! I've been an occasional customer for years since we moved into the area 10 years ago. It's very close to my house. I can't say that it's my absolute favorite pizza/pasta joint in the area but my favorite one doesn't deliver, so I end up choosing Sap's often when I am unable or unwilling to go out. The pizza is very, very good. I have nothing to criticize there. But, oftentimes, I really want a chicken parm and will often opt for that instead. Sometimes it's pretty good and sometimes it's been not so good. It's never been as good as it could be though. They really need to do a better job of salting and seasoning the sauce and the breading and the chicken itself. So many times, it ends up being bland. But, I will give them points for the generous portion and I do still order it when I do order from here, so obviously it's not horrible. I just wish there were more flavor. I usually end up sprinkling a little sea salt over it and that actually does a lot for the dish. The garlic knots are quite tasty. The service has always been very friendly, whether I've ordered delivery or whether I've stopped in to get a pie on the way home. But, be warned, if you order for delivery during the typical dinner time on a weekend night, you will be waiting awhile. The delivery can be quite slow during their rush times. Overall, I'm a fan. I'll continue to order from here when convenience is the key factor. When I really want the best though, I'll opt to drive a few more miles to my favorite place. read more

I like this place, I really do, but I can't give it more than 3 stars. This is pretty much one of the few places around the area that does pizza by the slice (that I know of). The pizza is always pretty good, but not super amazing. The Stromboli, though, is awesome. Service is good. You walk in, walk up to the counter, place an order, and they'll bring it out when it's done. They do the New York style thin crust, as well as a Sicilian pizza, along with your other standard pizzeria choices. I go here at least once a month, and they are pretty good. However, if you go ITP, you can find better by the slice places. If you are ordering a whole pizza, you can find better in the area if you hunt. For the area, and the niche they fill, they're pretty awesome. read more

Saporitos is a great small pizza place that is just great! We've been here twice already and each time we loved it. First time we had their new york style meat lovers pizza. There was an amazing amount of toppings. The cheese, crust and ingredients were all top notch. This second time we stopped in and tried their sicilian pizza, the crust was thick and buttery, though it did seem to lack in toppings this time around. We always ordered their dozen garlic knots (2.99 for a dozen thats cheap!!!) They are awesome and very few places we've eaten can top theirs. We will always return here, with great service and only a few minutes away. Just becareful they are busy. You will know why :-) read more

I'm originally from Northern NJ. Everyone has the idea of the perfect pizza. It's like asking folks their favorite bbq place in the south. The guys who run the place are also from Northern Jersey. Great pizza! When I judge a pizza it is plain cheese right out of the oven. First, if i dont fry the roof of my mouth, it probably isn't good. Second, one fold and pick up. If some cheese oil doesn't drip off it's no good. This pizza is spot on. Great cheese, sauce, and thin crispy crust. They also have great meatballs and I love their Greek salad with Mediterranean feta dressing. The wife and I eat here at least once a week. read more

I've only been to Saporitos a few times since living in Marietta, no idea why I haven't stopped by more often... I find the pizza to be tasty.... Nothing to razzle and dazzle the taste buds much, but not bad either... I usually like my pizza saucy and for that sauce to be wowza... but I still dig the cheese pizza here so I'll definitely be back. Service is good as the guys behind the counter are cool and usually just making pizza dough and pies. I never call ahead, I typically walk in and order to wait about 15 minutes for a pizza. It's a quiet little spot, so waiting inside is never a problem. I usually play on my phone or watch whatever they're showing on TV. There's plenty of parking as it's located in the East Lake shopping center by Marshalls. Other than that, prices are reasonable for hot fresh pizza. They sell slices as well, along with having some lunch specials. Saporitos is definitely an OK in book so yay for having more pizza options in my neck of the woods!! read more
