I was on a long road trip with my family of six and I decided that a local pizza joint not far from our route was in order. Google Maps and Yelp directed me here. So glad I did. When you walk in, you place your order at the counter. The staff was surprisingly friendly and attentive and patient with a guy who's trying to order something that everyone will like. Interestingly enough, though we ordered at the counter, we didn't pay until finished. Personally, I think that was a brilliant move because I know I left a better tip from the great food and good service. In a relatively short time, they brought out the 16" pepperoni I ordered for the kids and the 12" spinach, artichoke, and tomato I ordered for my wife and I. Both were incredibly good. Out of all of that, only 2 pieces of the "grown up" pizza survived to make it into a to-go box. The crust was exceptional - soft yet crispy on the bottom. If this place was near my home, I'd order from here all the time. If I'm ever on the way through Marietta again around lunch or dinner - I'll be stopping by. read more

I've been meaning to write a review of this place for months now... Saporitio's serves pretty damned good pizza at a reasonable price point. The crust is probably among the the best in the East Cobb area, although the sauce isn't quite as good as their competitor Labellas, and they tend to be a little conservative with it on their pies. If you get there during the week between 11-3 you can pay right around $10 for all the pizza you can eat and a drink, which makes it a fantastic place for lunch. The number of available toppings, leaves a little something to be desired. The wings are always plump and nicely sized, and cooked to perfection. They are never dry, and they are never tiny. I was initially going to give them a 5 star review, because the pizza really is pretty good for the price, and the delivery driver is always friendly and personable. I'll certainly be eating here again, although I think they need to increase the number of staff on hand during the weekends to keep pace with the demand. read more

Honestly, everything here is good! This and LaBellas are the best pizza joints in Marietta. Both pizzas are excellent. Only difference is LaBellas employees have a bit of an attitude, a yankee/Northern mindset and when you can get around that, all is OK. JJ's folks have great attitudes, easy to get along with. I've lived in NYC for ten years and I've been to many pizza places in Atlanta, this place is the only place that gets it right! Wonderful little pizzeria! I ordered delivery and used online ordering. Super easy to order exactly what I needed. The projected time for delivery was 75 minutes, but they came rather quickly! Do not be scared if you receive a long wait time. It definitely did not take as long as it said it would. Our driver was efficient and friendly. Pizza is New York style with big slices! growing up in N.Y and grabbing a slice was so easy. It's Been a few years since I found a flavor of a new York style pizza taste in the south. They have gotten pretty close. the cheese and thin doe was spot on. when I folded the slice I noticed the cheese oil and cheese dripping from the slice just like a authentic new York slice. I've been going here for a long time yea it's changed ownership from an employee but overall the food is still great. My recent visit was today and I liked the improvement he has made in the interior brick looks so much better. The staff is always friendly and I have to admire the attention to detail from the staff. When my husband is craving, "Not good, but great" pizza, there is only one place that fits that criteria: Saporito's Pizza in Marietta. We drive all the way up from Riverdale, visit a few book stores, Dr. No's, Hobbytown and/or Giga-Bites, then we end our geekventure at Saporito's. The pizza is to die for. It is served piping hot, so you may want to let it cool for a minute or two or just throw caution to the wind, like my hubby, and burn your mouth as you immediately take a big bite. Saporito's offers regular and deep dish pizza. They do not skimp on the toppings at all, and my hubby likes that they choose sliced sausage over ground sausage for their pizzas. Their pasta dishes are good, more flavorful than Olive Garden, in my humble opinion. Just keep in mind that this is not a pasta place, so the dishes are pretty basic. I have a small appetite, and I do not like to waste food, so I appreciate that they let me order the child's ziti, even though I am an adult. The service is usually friendly and pretty fast. You don't wait long before your food is brought to the table. My only complaint, and I will admit that this is nit-picky, is that you are supposed to leave your dishes on the table when you are done. This is perfectly fine if I am by myself, but if am with others and I finish eating first, and no one has had occasion to come by and pick up the plate, there is a dirty dish right beside me, and that kinda grosses me out. Furthermore, I once took my salad bowl up to the young lady behind the counter to give it to her because I was done with my salad. She looked at me funny, and said, "Oh, you can just leave it on the table." I politely told her, "No I can't. Having dirty dishes at the table turns my stomach." She reluctantly took the plate. The staff are usually good about clearing dirty dishes, so this usually is not a problem, but sometimes they get to talking or watching sports, and you are surrounded by tables with dirty dishes on them. Again, I know it is a quirk I have, so this may not bother most people. Overall though, Saporito's offers excellent food and great service. read more

I like the pizza but the place is ran down. They used duct tape to repair the carpet on the floor. I could see dust on the decorations from where I was seated. Rips in the seats in the booths. This wouldn't bother me if I was a hobo. It's dirty take down the Christmas lights, get rid of the indoor outdoor carpet give your customers a trash can without a broken lid. Stop eating donuts in the food prep area. Basketball shorts are not an appropriate choice for work apparel. Wow this place is dirty the more I look the harder I find it to believe I ate here. If it's this dirty where I can see just imagine how dirty it is where i can't. My advice stay away until they clean up. read more

Picked up a couple pies and an order of garlic knots to feed 6 of us last week. Not really impressed with the vegetarian pie...it was really just A-Okay. I'm a NY-style aficionado, and while I'll say that this is true NY-style, I was not at all impressed with the quality. The cheese wasn't impressive (i.e. not-so-fresh tasting), and the veggies just looked kinda blah. Overall, the look of the pie was just not appealing, and I feel like that really took away from the appearance. HOWEVER, the garlic knots were a perfect 10! I'd be willing to order from this place when I'm next in Marietta solely based on those. Who knows? The quality of the pizza may surprise me next time. read more

Haven't been in a while. Quite frankly, after a disappointing few visits when they changed owners, I wasn't going back. So I decided I was around the corner and stopped in to get the Philly Steak Stromboli. It was very good. Unlike the last time, it had a hefty portion of steak, mushrooms, onions and peppers. The mozzarella cheese was adequate as well. So they won me back. Do check out their pizza too. The ingredients are not the cheap version of cheese or toppings. Overall, very good pizza place. Friendly staff. As others have described, not much to look at physically - just order at the counter and they'll bring it out to you. We ordered a mushroom and sausage pizza, and a slice of cheese. Contrary to another reviewer, we thought the whole pizza was much better than the slice. I think the freshness is better. The slice tended to get really cooked on the bottom. In contrast, the whole pizza was cooked just right - thin crust, not greasy. The sausage was good. The mushrooms just so-so. In a metro area devoid of good pizza, this is about the best we've come across. But we're still looking. read more
