Installed pool with premier and the pool itself is so nice. The concrete is awful. It looks old, worn out, and ruins the entire look of project. Parts are not sloped correctly and it does not drain into the drainage they installed. Instead, it puddles up and drips into our pool. The brush strokes are not even and you can see drops of where the concrete dried in the joints. They "patched" some of it, but again, you can see and the finish doesn't match. I have tried being patient with getting a response, even a "hey we're working on it" text would be appreciated. Instead, radio silence. read more

Premier Pools built a pool for us with completion in October of 2024. JLC did the concrete. Called owner of JLC prior to concrete being poured due my sinking into the earth when I walked on it after the ground compacting was done. Was told everything would be fine, not so. Concrete started cracking within weeks of being poured. Have been working with Premier Pools to get it fixed since then. JLC has sent people out multiple times and their own employees have told me that the concrete needs to be replaced. I have been following up with Premier Pools and I keep being asked the same question "has nobody from JLC Concrete reached out to you". The simple answer is no, now I'm being told by premier that we're gonna have to run under their warranty. I would do my best when working with Premier Pools to ask them to use somebody other than JLC Concrete. Don't ever use this company and worst case contract for the cement around your pool on your own. I have compared with many neighbors and friends whom have had pools and none of them have the cracking we do, most of them have none. Had another concrete company look at it and they felt that JLC may have not put the proper amount of cement mix in to save costs! read more

We hired Premier Pools for our pool, and the hardscape was done by JLC. The concrete job was extremely poor. The photos we provided were taken five days after completion, and the patchwork they attempted afterward made it look even worse. They refused to refund, compensate, or fix the issues, repeatedly saying 'concrete cracks.' The owner wouldn't even speak to us over the phone, only replying via text, and the responses were rude. Their foreman, Josh, was incredibly unprofessional. I do not recommend this company at all and will continue to fight until these issues are properly addressed. Either fix this correctly, or refund us so we can hire a more reliable company that values customer service and quality work. Remember, quality over quantity--don't choose companies that just rush through projects. read more

Premier Pools sent JLC out to do our decking. I was very clear about the drainage tie-in from the deep end of the pool to the Y site at the shallow end. JLC said "no problem" as if they fully understood the assignment. When they installed the PVC drain under the concrete pad in the shallow end they laid it 4" above the drain in the deep end. Simple physics will tell you that water doesn't run uphill. When our landscaper came to do his work he lasered the two drains and said he couldn't tie in due to this incorrect slope. This resulted in having to trench completely around the opposite side of the pool and an additional $2000 expense for me. I addressed this error by JLC with Premier who said to contact JLC. I did just that. JLC refused to admit they made a mistake and refused to compensate me for their mistake. If building with Premier I would definitely find your own concrete specialists. I will continue to pursue reimbursement and will update with outcome. read more

Terrible experience, Botched our patio!! tried to stone it as a fix for a color stamped finish, are you kidding!! Tilted drain with a puddle right in front of it! Super rough finish, and blotchy color. Deck has spot that flow TO the pool not away!! big dip in the concrete in the back and the coping started cracking almost immediately!! Joints too far apart. Lots of pictures, we're organizing them to post here next. And the topper is they PEE in your yard!! Lots of promises in the beginning, now don't want to step up and make it RIGHT!! JLC was expensive and then ran out of concrete and didn't do anything about it, they left a spot unfinished. There were also some rocks and instead of jackhammering them and removing them they are now in the middle of my patio. When they pushed the grading out, they left a big mound of dirt and rock instead of leveling it out or removing it. I made a complaint to the owner, and nothing has been done and that was almost a year ago. I also have a lot of cracks and for $18K you would expect a more professional job. Look elsewhere if you want overall satisfaction! read more

I love this company! The workers are excellent and so organized! From the time they came in and framed the coping and patio and stairs we were just amazed how professional they all were. They swept the patio off and used a blower on the street to clean up any mess they left. Mike and his team poured concrete around our pool to finish off our pool remodel. When the project was done, we realized they hadn't put rebar in the portion of the concrete which was further from our pool, the part next to the house. The drains they put in were the cheaper ones which couldn't have the top removed to clean them out. Those were not the ones we had requested. And the color wasn't completely mixed in so we had a few of the sections mottled with huge dark spots on them. When it started raining, the drains they did put in started directing water under our house. On better examination we realized they never sealed the drain runs, not to each other and not to the concrete. The concrete pour was so thin that it didn't exceed the depth of the drains. This meant that because we had drainage put into our concrete, the water drained right into the soil below only in those areas and the low spot was right in the nook of our house so a river would pour under our house every time it rained. When I contacted Mike to address this shoddy work, he never responded. read more

Well they poured my pool deck and basketball court not yet a year ago. It looked beautiful. After just a couple months there are very noticeable cracks down each one of my steps, I have 4 set of 3 steps w/out the line they use to gather cracks and they are the center piece of the pool.. Over the past few months the cracks have expanded. It looks terrible. JLC had to come back and remove a nice sized section of cement because they poured it w/out the city of EDH inspecting it it first as it was over my purple pipe. Duh. Since it's colored cement it doesn't match now. Looks terrible. My basketball court is 10 months old and has gaping cracks. MIKE CAME OUT AND STATED THEY DONT FIX CRACKS UNLESS ITS A SAFTEY ISSUE. I thought I'd wait until the issue was resolved to write this review but it's now in the third year since JLC poured the pool deck and the problem remains. Numerous calls, numerous texts, numerous pictures sent and no response. Reading other reviews, it appears this is normal with this business. Regarding quality, I would rate them average. Puddling is a problem causing staining. This could have been prevented if the concrete was sealed. Did I mention the owner promised to return after the winter to do that? Never showed. The worst part of dealing with this contractor was the lack of professional respect. My final recourse will be pursuing resolution in Small Claims Court. read more

We used JLC concrete on recommendation from our pool company when we had a new pool installed. Mike and his team poured concrete around the pool, pool house, up to the house, and also a large patio area. We were asked to pay in full as soon as the concrete was poured, however we were not allowed to walk on it for two more days. When we did, we noticed that there were several spots that did not drain, including a high spot surrounding a drain that was specifically put between the pool and the house to drain away pool water, and a low spot by our backdoor and against the house which holds water like a bowl when it rains. We also found that the pool coping was cracking and falling off in large chunks around the edge of the pool. In addition, once the pool company finished the pool and tried turning on the plumbing, it was determined that one of Mike's crew had hammered a piece of rebar into the pipes causing a massive leak. This required that they jackhammer out the new concrete, fix the pipes, and repour new concrete. That process set the entire project behind schedule, cracked the existing concrete, plus Mike's crew left a huge mess in our new landscaping. When I contacted Mike about these issues, he promised to seal our concrete for free to make it up to us. However, when I followed up with him about that, he kept putting me off, and finally failed to respond at all. It has now been two years, and our concrete has never been sealed, the pool coping looks terrible, and continues to crumble, and the areas that do not drain are a constant nuisance. Look for another concrete company who will provide better follow through, and a higher quality work. read more
