Fuck this dealership, they take my truck that they sold me and then serviced. Rotated my tires and then while driving the truck one of the tires lug nuts were not tightened all the way and fell off as it was being driven. Took it back to the them asking to just make me whole and just fix the truck, didn't want to take any other legal action. They decided to not help me out whatsoever, they blamed it on a freak accident and basically told me to take a hike. Worst dealership ever to do business with as soon as they realize you're not a customer to them anymore they give 0 fucks about you. This dealership is trash. Helped my daughter buy a used car here and relatively speaking, wasn't a bad experience. Keep unkind it takes longer to go thru the sales process that most people think it should, but unfortunately, that's the process. Salesman was good but very young and new to the process. Tried his best to help us thru their process, and with a little more experience, will get better. Ended up purchasing the vehicle she wanted for a decent price, which made her happy, thank you dad. We'd come back here again, if they have something we're interested in, keeping in mind they are used car salespeople so unfortunately, you'll need to also be in that mode when interacting with them. I love my compact SUV Trailblazer, wish I purchased it from another dealership. 2 stars for giving me a good trade-in value on my Mini Cooper. James Branco (Kimo) was our sales person, he hustled and dedicated his entire day to me and my son and sold us each a car. His focus was 100% on making a sale and disregarding our feelings. He is straight up in an unfriendly way, some of his comments rubbed me the wrong way. Jason Hattori explained the car features, the last thing he said was "all this attention you are getting today, is really how we operate on a daily basis". So untrue, he won't answer his phone, return voicemails or reply to emails. Additionally, Stephanie the receptionist answered the phone refused to check if my new car registration and license plate was received. She insisted, if I didn't get a text, call, or email it isn't in. Immediately after hanging up the phone, I went into JNC to check for myself, and someone else found it for me. Apparently it was received 2 months prior and no contact by anyone. JN Chevrolet, this place is awful. read more

TLDR; Excellent hustle from the sales team pre-sale, great deal on the car, lower your expectations of customer service from the sales team post sale. Unfortunately have to update my review based on customer service, aftercare. I've had my vehicle for a month now and I love it. This update is for how difficult it was to get a simple question answered about my registration. "Approximately when should I expect to receive my registration?" I'm not new to purchasing vehicles and understand the process isn't fast but in this situation, the registration was due to expire the following month and the safety shortly after. I'd like to think I was fairly patient when reaching out, allowing a week or two each time for the sales team to get back in touch with me over the period of a month.... Text messages, website phone contacts, sales team chat, the managers number listed on the sales receipt (which just directs you back to the sales team voicemail)...NOTHING for a month. When I finally got a hold of someone... the excuse was weak, but my question was answered so I couldn't care less about explanations. Imagine if I actually had an issue... Proceed with caution. Have all your questions ready and answered before you leave the dealership and you should be fine. In fact, if you buy a car, sit in it IN the dealership parking lot for 15 minutes until you think of another question to ask BEFORE you drive away. Walk back in to the office and ask that question. Heck! Make it two questions! Because once you leave that parking lot, customer service collapses behind you into nothingness like "The Cave of Wonders" in Aladdin. Of course you can always drive back to the dealership if you need to get a hold of someone. read more

Soldiers BEWARE! My daughter is a young soldier stationed at Schofield Barracks. We purchased a vehicle from them 2 years ago. The used car sales team essentially try to steal her car when she sold it back to them upon completing her enlistment. They did no appraisal- just used high pressure tactics to try to get her to sell it for less than half of the wholesale value. Had I not intervened, they would have succeeded. BUYERS BEWARE of JN sales tactics especially from Lazar Joseph & Jason Hattori. Don't let Lazar's patient demeanor or Jason's bubbly personality fast-talk you because they almost pulled a scam on myself & my hubby when we purchased a used SUV recently. Lessons definitely learned from this experience. Don't take the added "packages" (e.g. extended warranties. GAP insurance, etc) cause it'll only add more interest to the loan even if your monthly stays the same. READ the fine print especially the last page that shows the breakdown of the loan financing itemization. Look at line 4 "Other charges.." under letter H. There should be nothing on there except tax/title/documentation fees at the most! Any other fees they add on is BS which is what Jason added on our original loan without our knowledge. Lazar worked the numbers & Jason zipped thru the paperwork. Always ask for the final paperwork hard copy never accept a USB digital copy before you leave the lot with the car. My mistake was not doing all my research ahead or reading the fine print before signing that itemized document. Their mistake was rushing & not getting the loan approved before letting us take the car home anyway. Yes. Jason shook our hands, congratulated us & told us the loan was approved then handed us the keys. Here's the best part though--about 2 wks later, we get a call from Kimo Branco apologizing stating, "I'm so sorry but the loan fell through so we're going to need you both to come back in to sign a new contract." We were so confused! My husband asked if everything from the original contract was going to stay the same & Kimo said, "The rate will actually go up." I said HELL NO! So I requested that Kimo send me the original loan so that I can see & compare to the new contract he wanted to send us via DocuSign. When we looked over the original itemization, Jason added on Maintenance fees, Paint/Dent Repair fees & Road Hazard fees--WTF?! It totaled about an extra $4K to our loan! So I immediately called Kimo back & told him, "We didn't agree to any of these extras. REMOVE THEM or I will report JN to FTC & State AG for yo-yo scamming!" I told him MY terms & said I wanted the out-the-door price of the vehicle, minus our trade-in value we originally agreed on with Lazar which would be the price I'd agree to. I wasn't signing any new deal unless all of that extra was removed. He started to back pedal & finally agreed. In the end our monthly was lower than the original monthly on the old contract. Morale of the story--sometimes it's best to just stay silent. Had Kimo not called us with the "bad news" LOL we would've unknowingly ate an unnecessary extra $4K that could've been a BIG commission for Lazar & Jason. The icing on the cake? I'm going to refinance the loan thru our credit union shortly & they won't see a commission dime off this sale AND I'm still reporting them to FTC. So thank you Lazar & Jason..I got the last laugh hahaha CLOWNS! read more

JN Chevrolet has the worst customer service on Oahu. Their service advisors do not call you for vehicle updates. You have to call and leave multiple messages before they call you back. They have had my vehicle for over three weeks with no clear date when will be fixed. All to correct an issue they caused by performing a safety recall on the driver airbag. Initially after performing the recall they called and said my vehicle is ready. I go there to pick up and there is an airbag warning light on the dashboard. Who calls and says your vehicle is good when they caused a warning light to come on. Ridiculous. Then they say thy want to charge me for a diagnostic. WHAT!! After going back and forth with them multiple times they said, well you will need to leave the vehicle with them to troubleshoot with Chevy to figure out the cause. Three weeks and still no resolution. Save yourself time and money. Don't go there for anything!! read more

He even picked me up from home and took his time to explain everything about the car and all of the details of the transaction. He also helped me to to find insurance for the car through a broker and he was able to get me a good interest rate on the car financing. I have had nothing but great service from JN!!! I've had Camaro and Corvette convertibles on the island here the past 30 years and there aren't many repair shops that have been able to assist with my repairs. The other repair shops I've had to go to in Kakaako and Kalihi are SO difficult to deal with and I cringe when I have to go there. The only time I've been disappointed with JN is right now when their recently relocated service department isn't fully up and running yet... my baby needs their attention!!! lol But JN is a breath of fresh air! They take care of you from the moment you drive in... the check in process is painless and oh my god... they ACTUALLY contact and update me with how my car is doing without me having to try to fight to get through a phone service. Even calling for a service appointment is wonderful... Lynn is always pleasant which is not an easy thing in her line of business I'm sure. The other places acts like I'm bothering them when I try to get an appointment. I've gone days without hearing from them about my car! The other repair shop misdiagnosed my battery and wanted to replace it and upsell me with some craziness.... I then took it to JN for a diagnostic on my battery (where I originally bought it), they found nothing wrong with the battery and didn't even charge me. The cashiers patiently explain the charges, the parts department employees are friendly and help me without giving me the "she's just a woman" attitude (lol). I never want my car to need service but when it does I'm really really glad that they are servicing Honolulu. read more

I brought my Corvette in for service in December 2022 and it's now mid May 2023, I took it in, because I needed a new caliper and key fob issue. We did a walk through and this is collectors car, Pristine condition so no damages were signed off. I called in April because it took so long, they said that they installed the wrong parts and also the car got damaged. I went to see what happened and they have no explanation as to how they car got damaged and the new parts were rusty and they lost some of my original parts. I asked to see the manager, Jean and waited 5 hours to see her and they called me to say sorry she wasn't able to meet me. I have been trying to call every week now and no one is getting back at me. We went to the DMV to try to get the registration and they told us the vehicle was still under JN Chevrolet. We have called a few times and went down there, same results someone will look into it. Every time we try calling, no manager is available nor a call back. We tried reaching our sales representative Lazar and the manager Jason Hattori. Don't trust the initial smiles and service you receive because all they want is the sale. Took my 2013 60th Anniversary Corvette with 7K miles in because of a reduced power setting code. A simple search on the internet and forums leads to two things it could be. A bad (or dirty) throttle body or bad accelerator sensor (on the pedal itself). After having my car for an entire day they called me 20 min before closing to tell me it was ready. They had replaced my starter. They charged me $1,100 to do so and never called to ask me or tell me that was what they were doing. When I asked them why they felt it needed to be replaced they said, and I quote, "the technician said it looked like it was burnt and wires were melting". If you look at the photos, you will see that it is normal starter bendix dust and the "melting" wires is the orange silicone that comes from the factory. Of course 1 week later the problem was back and I fixed it myself for $100. I never should have gone there in the first place but figured I would let the "professionals" fix it. I wouldn't send my worst enemies worst enemy to JN Service. read more

Avoid this dealership if possible. Total scam trap. The lobby is eerie and stale, workers are not friendly, and they post signs with typographical errors. Check the "seating for family's sign." It should be "seating for families." It's plural, not possessive. On March 23, this dealership was advertising a 2018 Toyota Tundra for sale. It was a beautiful truck with ridiculously low mileage. I called to talk numbers, which they refused to do over the phone even with all this corona going on. They insisted on making an appointment for me to see the Tundra. The guy I got to talk to, Wyland, tells me that he's looking at the trucks details and the CarFax and says that they got the truck a month ago and that it was on the lot for me to see. I make an appointment for 12:00 noon. I go to the dealership for the appointment that they insisted on. I arrive, I'm greeted by Kimo, and he takes me in to his work area. I tell him why I'm there. At this point I'm very clear that I came for the black Tundra 4x4 that was advertised and that Wyland scheduled an appointment for me to see it. He finds my appointment, and says that he has to speak with his manager. At this point I knew something was up because he started turning red and his demeanor changed from confident and perky to nervous. After waiting for 10 minutes, he returns with the bad news. He says that "unfortunately the Tundra was sold a while ago and that they have brand new Chevy trucks that we could get for cheaper." Although he was apologetic, I was not happy. I asked him if it sold within the past hour or so. He said, no, it sold a while ago but we couldn't take the posting down because of the personal plates. I did not buy that excuse at all. By this point I was done! What he was saying made no sense. Then I ask, "why would Wyland on me coming down for an appointment to see the Tundra if it was sold a while ago?" Kimo could not answer, he was obviously embarrassed. Then the hustle... Kimo tried to entice me with a bait and switch. Their game all along was to lure me in with a non-existent Tundra to try to get a sale on a Silverado! Even if I wanted to consider a Chevy, I wouldn't buy one from JN Chevrolet. Imagine if they have the audacity to con you from the start, what would stop them from deceiving you throughout your purchase experience? JN, you need to learn from Toyota. You wonder why so many people are loyal to Toyota? It's because they would never attempt a bait and switch. They are confident in the products that they sell, their products are proven, and they never do the hustle. They give you a fair price and as a customer you chose to take it or leave it. Simple. Don't waste your time at this sketchy place. If you need a Chevy, go to Servco! Better yet, get a Toyota! It'll last 1 million miles. On March 27, I got a text from Wayland. I assume that it was due to my review since he started off talking about the managers being overwhelmed. If I could give it negative stars I would! I took my truck in for a transmission check and prices are crazy. I was told $300 on the phone, arrived at the location and they said it was $400. Got my truck back window won't roll up anymore. Perfectly fine when I dropped it off and quick with a response of $200 to fix it when I was told they had to roll it down during a test drive then told me it wasn't rolling up upon arrival. Get your story right. The interior on the drivers side is soaked and so was I, left me with a nonworking window knowing it was pouring outside!! Now my dashboard is glitching and won't turn off like what the heck, it was perfectly fine as well. And lady behind the desk don't remember her name, attitude problem. Mechanic I spoke to was chill tho. Ps. This was the service section. I was the only one reaching out to them they never called me for updates like they said. And they wanted to keep my truck an additional night potentially to charge me more and mess up my truck even more! read more

The 5 is for the 2013 Volt, not the car companies. I've had the Volt 9 years and the gas miles is 172 miles to the gallon now. That's what the car computer tells me. The Volt is the best car I ever owned. It a real shame G.M. stop making the car. It still gives me a 40 mile range on the new battery. If they could make the Volt with a 200 plus battery and the back up engine that kicks in when you lose electricity, my God what a great car. G.M. might want to rethink what they are doing. read more
