Absolute joke of a dealership. Test drove a car, 2010 (SILVER TOYOTA VENZA 96k miles for $10k) and immediately felt so many things wrong with it. Tried to talk to the "salesman" about the issues as I was driving around, the guy sat in the backseat playing on his phone not saying a single word. I drove around the block, went back to the parking lot, handed back the keys and he said "so what?" You kidding me? I then went on to explain that the brake booster needed to be replaced ASAP, rack and pinion/sway bar links needed changing, the brake pads felt really low, AC needed to be looked at for not blowing cold, power window side mirrors were broken and were unable to adjust before driving, and the volume knob on the radio was not working. He nodded his head in agreement, went back in the car and drove off without trying to discuss anything with me. Shady asf'. Don't recommend coming here and wasting your time. You will be purchasing a vehicle with issues I guarantee it. Wish I could give 0 stars. read more

I definitely would not recommend buying a car from here. The truck we bought started having transmission issues right after we left the lot, which should never happen. To be fair, the owner agreed to unwind the deal, but imagine if it had happened the next day, they probably wouldn't even answer the phone. The whole experience completely ruined our day going back and forth with the credit union trying to fix everything. On top of that, the employees were rude, the cars we looked at were a huge disappointment compared to the photos online, and the overall experience just felt misleading. I had a great experience at Auto Z Hawaii. It's been about two years since I bought my truck from them and long story short it's a great vehicle, no major issues, I got a good deal and it was an easy transaction. I found my original 2007 Mazda truck actually listed on Craigslist by Auto Z. I didn't act on it for at least a month and one Saturday I just decided to go look at the truck and see what was up. It was buried in their spare lot and the guys were more than happy to move all the vehicles so I could test drive it. Took it for a spin and although it was dusty and dirty I liked it and thought it ran well. I bought it that day and what's great is we negotiated an amazing deal and I put it all on my credit card so I also got Hawaiian air miles. They handled the license and registration which we negotiated into the price. Automatic, 93,XXX miles and under 6K, I was happy. The truck had been sitting and they wanted it gone so I got a great deal in my opinion. I took it home, cleaned it up and took it to my local mechanic to get it checked out. It had a few minor things- needed a new windshield fluid pump motor thing so the fluid would splash the windshield, it needed a full oil change and fluid flush, and a new belt. Nothing major. Two years on I've had the breaks and rotors replaced and new tires put on. Gotta keep up with maintenance, just like any machine it's not gonna run nice unless you treat it nice. Anyways I'm still very happy with my purchase, the truck runs amazing. I think it was a trade In by some uncle who used it as a work truck. My advice is, know what you're buying, know what red flags to look for and don't be afraid to negotiate! I knew what to look for since I was interested in older Ford rangers and Mazdas. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with AutoZ Hawaii was extremely disappointing. I first sent an email that was never acknowledged. I then called in the morning and never heard back. When I followed up later, I finally spoke to someone about sending a vehicle to a preferred mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection (PPI). The woman I spoke with said she needed to confirm details and would call me back. She never did. Today, I called again and was told they couldn't accommodate my request because the mechanic I chose was "too far away." For context, the shop is just 2.3 miles away, an 11 minute drive. The truck I was interested in has been sitting on their lot since April (nearly 3 months), and they couldn't make the minimal effort to drive it a short distance for a very interested cash buyer. I understand the pace of business in Hawaii can be more relaxed, and I respect that. However, this level of unresponsiveness and unwillingness to accommodate a reasonable request was shocking and left me with zero confidence in moving forward. read more

I went today to look at a few vehicles. The guy gave me wrong info on the cars he showed me, when I looked up the vehicles car fax it didn't match anything he said to me. I asked how many previous owners and he told me 1, when I asked why they gave up the car, he paused and told me owner bought an SUV. The history shows that the car had 2 previous owners & had been in 3 accidents. All of which the salesman failed to mention when I was asking questions about the car and history. He was not educated, nor did he ask for my name or to even see my license. He pretty much lied to my face the entire time with him & it was obvious. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The person who was showing me the car didn't know anything about the car, would always say "I don't know" to my questions or say "you would need to look at the car fax report". When I asked about the brake life and how old the tires where all I got was I don't know. They were super young and not professional at all. Didn't know how financing a car works and basically just didn't take me seriously at all. I had asked if the price of the car was flexible and he said it was depends on my credit, and that is not how it works. Yes monthly payments are dependent on credit score, but not the overall price of the car. I was looking to do a trade in and he could barely go a me an answer first saying they only do clean titles then later changing his answer giving me an estimate. I asked about the previous owner and the car history from them and kept referring me back to carfax. He didn't know anything and quite frankly I don't know how he got that job. This was the worst experience I have ever had. That person should be demoted or fired for how they handled that sale. I asked two different employees how long the car had been on the lot and both were insistent it was around a month. However the dirt in the interior told me otherwise. I do not appreciate being lied to. I am pleased to write a review for this business. Being a business owner myself, I know the importance of standing behind your services and product. It seems very few do that anymore. There was an issue with a warning light, which I was made aware of. It was thought to be a sensor which wasnt a big deal. It turned out to be a module, which was fairly expensive. Not only did they pay for parts and service, but gave me a loaner car while my car was being worked on. What really stood out to me was this was way after the 30 day warranty. Extremley honest & trustworthy. I showed up at Auto Z Hawaii without an appointment to learn that the car I had my eye on they had taken to the dealership to have a full review done on the battery of the electric car. They said after they bought the car they noticed some things that were concerning - it didn't seem to be holding its charge like they thought it should so out of an abundance of caution they paid the dealership to have it analyzed. So this impressed me. It's my 1st electric car & I wouldn't have noticed what they did, I would have just blindly bought it, so I thought this was very honest of them. It felt good to be able to read the full report & see from BMW themselves that the battery passed all its tests. They absorbed the cost of having the battery examined.
