It's crawfish season. A friend recommended this place on Facebook. So, with a knowledge of where it was, drove down the street to satisfy my buds. It was very good and reminded me of Houston. We got the combination flavored crawfish and happily indulged ourself with these little creatures. We also tried their crawfish fried rice and was pretty darn content! i used to love this place so much. but they are not honest to their customers. over the last couple times we have showed up, they have consistently "accidentally charged us for an extra pound" to get money out of us. me & my fiancé showed up to order 2 pounds & was in shock when our check was $35. they charged us for THREE POUNDS. when we clearly ASKED FOR TWO POUNDS. & not to mention their service sucks total ass. it was 9pm & they were putting their chairs up when their posted time was 10pm. how fucking disrespectful is it to kick your loyal customers? i'm never coming back. this place is not worth it. i'm going over to crab station here on out. read more

WOW. what a find! We love crawfish and have driven to Addison to Nates every year for a fix. Tried Joe Cajun last night and were totally blown away by the great crawfish. The buy 5lbs get 1 free deal is a good thing. We had 12 lbs. 10 of the spicy (excellent) and 2 to try the Garlic Butter with medium spice. Loved them all but SPICY is our thing. The downside...and its minor, is that they don't have a menu sheet for the "fixins" or prices ...we had to ask for corn and potatoes ... never thought about sausage but saw they had some when we were settling the tab. (A simple xerox sheet in the menu or table card would do the trick and likely increase sales :) ) Will know better next time to ask up front. I arranged an after work crawfish boil and happy hours here for 18 people. They were able to accommodate all of us. Definitely the Best crawfish in Arlington. BYOB, we love that. We always take our Lime Ritas. Customer Service is OK! We love the crawfish so much we keep coming back regardless. My husband loves the gumbo. We are both from Louisiana, the crawfish seasoning and taste is very close to home. The gumbo is not the best to me. We tried the Boiling Crab(which is suppose to be the best in town) before trying this one and will NEVER return to the Boiling Crab again. Not an enjoyable atmosphere. When we walked in, the worker (maybe owner) had an annoyed look on her face because she had to get up from the table where she was playing cards with several other people. The kid who was also with that table was running around everywhere screaming, jumping. We sat down, she gave us our menus and immediately asked if we were ready to order. Obviously not, we didn't even have time to look at the menu. The crawfish was almost the worst I've ever had. The sauce was very bitter, and it had a weird spice to it. It tasted like biting into raw ginger and garlic. Good thing we only ordered one pound each. We never got refills on water. Nobody spoke a word to us when they dropped off the food, didn't ask if we needed anything else, didn't ask how it tasted. Service was TERRIBLE. The workers/ owners only cared about the card game they had going on with friends at the next table. If you're fine with crappy service and mediocre food this is your spot! read more

Checked out this place for the first time on 02/15/2015 and was pleasantly surprised. We ordered crawfish (at $8.99/pound which is still slightly on the expensive side, but hoping it'll drop down to $7.99/pound soon) and a plate of grilled catfish and rice. The crawfish was a mix of the different flavors available and it was good and very flavorful. Actually, I thought it was very similar to the taste at Crawfish Hut down the street and it even came out in the same kind of narrow-opening plastic bag w/ a similar-looking and similar-tasting dipping sauce. (Love the dipping sauce.) I like Crawfish Hut but don't like the limited food court seating, so I might be going here instead since they taste so similar (though it was $7.99/pound at Crawfish Hut on the same day). The catfish portion was very generous, and was flavorful as well. I noticed they didn't bring out any lime wedges so I don't know if that's something you have to directly request. It was my first time at Joes cajun. They actually open on sundays which is good. We didn't know that we could have ordered cajun spice crawfish. But it was garlic sauce crawfish. It was pretty good. Some people might not like that. Next time we are going to try the cajun spice. Also we recommend the crawfish fried rice. It was so good. So don't forget to ask what kind of seasoning they have for crawfish. They are very big so we were very happy about it. We would recommend this place to anyone. read more

Another Sunday afternoon and I get the taste for crawfish (like Chic Fil-A) and my go-to places where closed so I pulled up the Yelp App and located Joe Cajun. I've seen a few reviews via email and decided what better time than now to show up and order out. The place is in an older shopping center visible from the street and the parker lot was full even for a Sunday due to several other business open at that time. Luckily I found a corner spot and hustled my way to the door. Upon entering..... the cashier desk is up front with the menus and I order 3lbs spicy crawfish and 1lb/1 cluster snow crab legs. Total: $43.26. As I waited the dining area didn't leave much to desire. It was dark with the only light source coming in through the windows. Standard chairs and booths, with one flat screen tv showing a Asian soap opera. No big deal, I've seen this before and mainly the reason I choose to place my order to go. My food came out in a timely manner and I was set forth on my way home. The crawfish where small with a few medium and large ones, the snow crab cluster was large also good. A second cluster would've been nice (smile). The overall taste was spicy with bits of garlic though out...just how I like. I'll put Joe Cajun on my go to list for crawfish, either #4 or #5 and come back later. There are other places that are cheaper and around the same taste level that I will probably go to first. read more

Love this place. We are huge fans of the Boiling Crab in Dallas but the 2 hour waits are rough. Joe Cajun is a great alternative. Closer to home and NO wait time. Which is important when you are ready to eat! The food is GREAT!!!! Although, not AS flavorful as Boiling Crab, still VERY VERY GOOD! Fresh seafood steamed to perfection. We will definitely be back. We went there because all the reviews on here said it was so good but it was absolutely vile! We had the oysters and only ate two because they tasted funny and had an awful aftertaste. We also had fried platters with potato salad, the fried shrimp were ok but the potato salad had too many spices and didn't taste right. We asked were the oysters were from and the lady didn't know, she said I just work here. We told her they were awful and she didn't take them off of the ticket, which ticked me off. I ordered 2lbs of crawfish spicy mixed seasoning (OMNOMNOM), banh beo (MMM!), and cajun fries (well...they're just fries with cajun seasoning...) and was not disappointed. The meat is still plump and not shriveled like those I've got elsewhere and just imagining dipping that into the sauce is making me drool right now (not attractive since I'm at a hair salon waiting to have my haircut) but it's true! Read the reviews and went to check this place out. No,no,no. For me it's more than just the food it's the ambiance of a place I choose to eat. An awful smell met me at the door. I ordered a glass of water that took forever to receive and it tasted fishy. The crawfish was pretty good but I looked around and noticed others had potatoes and corn in their bag of crawfish and mine did not. I also ordered crawfish etouffe. It was disgusting and when I tried to return it, I was notified there are no returns or exchanges for food. If I could give this place a 0 I would!!! We thought we found another amazing hidden gem, but this place was utterly disgusting!!! First of all we could barely order because our waitress knew such little English. Then they got one of our orders of crab cooked with just their "garlic butter". There garlic butter was not that at all it consisted of a clumpy puréed mixture with ginger and orange. Matter of fact everything we ate was cooked with orange and over powered everything!! What's even worse is my husbands allergic to oranges, and although they tried to tell me all Cajun food is cooked with oranges, I informed them quickly that I've eaten Cajun food throughout many southern states, with probably over 50 different restaurants and have never had orange in my food! It was gross, the crab legs were of very poor quality, they were like a mushy cold sponge. Me and my husband spend $60 and had to go get a cheeseburger at McDonald's down the street! I honestly don't know how this place is even open. If your in the Arlington area skip this place and go to the Cajun Corner on park row dr. It will blow your socks off and is affordable!! When we walked in there was 3 workers sitting down at the table, no one spoke to us for about 2 minutes and then a lady I guess the waitress finally gets up and seats us. The place was not very inviting to me, and not the cleanest either. Went in for crawfish and crab legs, with potatoes and corn, everything is sold separately, crawfish was $7.99 a pound, crab legs $15 a pound, with no sides. I wasn't feeling that, so I think I will stick to Boiling King Crab on Arkansas Lane in Arlington,TX. This was my first and last time trying Joe Cajun. I came here because my favorite place Cajun Corner has not reopened at their new location as of yet so we were craving crawfish and Yelp led us here...Yelp reviewers failed me on this one. I normally can overlook less than pleasant tasting food being that I most likely won't return but Customer service is one that I can't overlook. The customer service in this place sucks to the highest point of sucktivity....We were seated and never checked on again...The dozen of shrimp that we ordered were undercooked and tasted horrible. We were able to get one of the waitresses attention who along with another co-worker were watching movies on their cell phones and seemed annoyed for being disturbed. We informed her that the shrimp were not done and tasted weird, she stated to us that the food you order can't be returned...ok that is understandable but do you think she did anything to fix the issue or make sure we were ok..NOPE!!!
