Not a great experience. I've visited this location a few times off and on and have consistently noticed the same issues with the staff experience. I understand coffee shops can be challenging work environments, especially when pay and staffing pressures impact morale, but customer service still matters. Unfortunately, the baristas here often come across as unwelcoming and, at times, even a bit dismissive. There's very little eye contact, minimal greeting or acknowledgment, and rarely any effort to create a friendly atmosphere. A coffee shop's environment and energy play a huge role in the customer experience, and this location falls short in making people feel valued or welcome. Stopped in here for a quick caffeine boost and was pretty satisfied. I tried the Apple Picking Matcha - apple cinnamon matcha with apple cinnamon cold foam. It was nice level of sweetness and had good apple flavor, but the matcha isn't very strong (may be able to ask for extra matcha). My parents had the drip coffee and had good things to say. Baristas were also very accommodating and answered any questions patrons had. Overall, would return, but probably would try different independent coffee spots first. read more

Ordered the iced green tea. Which was solid This space is cozy and the tables are small but comfortable. They have an exterior door outside their primary door, so in the winter there usually isn't that chill breeze that sweeps in whenever someone comes in. It's fairly small with only 8 tables crowded in, which is pretty good for a non starbucks cafe in Manhattan. I sat here for about an hour and a half while waiting for someone's afterschool ballet class to end. I'd say I was pretty lucky to get a table, and I saw some other ballet students waiting here as well (the studio is just around the corner) I would come again for the place to sit, but would leave for another cafe if they didn't have a seat. read more

I visited late this afternoon and ordered a macchiato and a pastry. After being handed the pastry, I sat down at a table. After 5 minutes of waiting (as I observed the employee who took my order loudly having a conversation with another employee), I stood up to get their attention. At first the girl who had taken my order gave me a confused look. After I said I was waiting for my macchiato (there weren't any other customers they were serving), the girl said to her coworker "oh, you didn't make the macchiato?". I've been to Joe before but this was my first time at this location. I went around 11 am on a Thursday and it was pretty busy, no line but almost every table was full. My sister and I were lucky to snag the last 2-person one available. This isn't really a location I suggest for working; the tables are small, the environment is pretty loud, and it's cramped quarters overall. There's also no restroom. Luckily, there was no line when I arrived so I was in and out quick. They have espresso, Coffee, lattes, etc available. I went with a Caramel Latte ($4.25). It had that authentic coffee taste where it tastes more like coffee than a sugary dessert, Mmm. Also, the barista makes the beautiful design on top (see picture below). They use the Square system here so when you run your card if you've used Square before your receipt will automatically be emailed to you.
