My entree was the Veal Parmigiana. It was tasty tender and a generous serving size. I like that they just barely bread the veal. However the best part of any of our visits is always the wait staff. The restaurant has a lot of space, there is a full bar near the entrance with dining areas on either side. The staff is friendly and gives off the small family restaurant vibe. I ordered the lasagna with sausage, it actually came with an additional sausage link on the side. The meal was pretty good. My wife and I had a date night here. There is also live entertainment, near the bar. This was on a Friday night. The place was packed, the dining area was spacious and you could have a conversation and not have to scream. We came here to celebrate a 60th Anniversary and I specifically asked if they could do a special desert and they told me the will and have a candle too. When we arrived I told our server as well. Spoiler alert - nobody acknowledged the anniversary. The restaurant vibe is pleasing and dimly lit. We started with cocktails which were all done right. They brought out delicious fresh bread. We started with the fried calamari and steamed mussels with white wine sauce and both were fantastic. They brought a giant bowl of salad for the table to share which was nice. All was going well until the entrees came. They were all disappointing. I ordered the Joe's Seafood over homemade spaghetti. The seafood (clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops) were dropped in a smaller than expected portion and I suspect the seafood was frozen. It was mixed into the pasta and no shells at all. Others ordered the lobster over pasta, broiled seafood and other seafood dishes. The fish was definitely not fresh. Private spaces available. While this location is nearby, during my 4 visits I can't help but notice that it doesn't stack up to the Hammonton NJ location that I prefer. Why do I say that? Wow!!! We were blown away by the high quality food here. I guess I wasn't expecting it to be this good, but it was delicious! I got the stuffed shrimp (4 big shrimp with really tasty crab imperial stuffing. The side of pasta was excellent. Had dinner here and frankly the food left a lot to be desired . I had spaghetti with clams that were harder than shoe leather. My wife had a salad with crab cakes. The cakes were so tiny you could hardly find them. The salad , served on plastic bowls, was soaked in a balsamic vinaigrette with balsamic used not worth the name it was so acidic and old. I can only assume the dead mall is making its rent by these restaurants, and in return they are cutting costs and caring less The service is god awful, slow waiters, I mean beyond slow like a snails pace. The food is now mediocre but used to be amazing, the veal parm was insane but now tastes like hospital food. The free salad, this is what made me write this, really good until i realized the peppers were old and rotten looking. Look at that red sauce. I mean, it's fluorescent red. It is so bright in flavor and color. Not overly acidic. But this tastes like a very quick tomato sauce with very little herbs in it. Maybe it's just me, but I want a deep red sauce that's been simmered for hours. Yeah, some may prefer a 10 minute sauce on their chicken parm and spaghetti. Not me. Terrible experience this evening! Walked in at 5:15 wanting to do happy hour at the bar. The hostesses said there were no seats. We looked around, I pointed to 2 high tops for 4, they said RESERVED. I asked about the HUGE group of tables pushed together which would sear probably at least 12 people, they said reserved. So we said ok, we'll take the low table for 4 on the OTHER side they said RESERVED. ALL RESERVED FOR THE BAND. WHAT band? 2 people were standing there with IPads. THEM. NO ONE at ANY of those RESERVED TABLES. SO WE LEFT. AS DID ANOTHER COUPLE. THIS IS BAD BUSINESS, TURNING AWAY PAYING CUSTOMERS FOR PEOPLE WHO AREN'T EVEN THERE AND A BAND WHICH ISN'T A BAND. My boss loves coming here for Happy Hour when he is in town and I have finally tried it for myself.i get why he likes it. Good food, good price and live music. I have to say it is very good. Portions and selection of appetizers was very good. My friend and I ordered a few different items to share and it was great for 2 people. The bartender was friendly and attentive. Over all the decor is really nice. Well nicer than you would think a place connected to the mall would be. It was also very clean. The service was just ok it was more on the slow side. The food.... Salad was awesome. Bacon wrapped scallops were very good. Calamari was just ok. The chicken parm was awful. It was super thin and textured like over cooked veal. It was tough and didn't really taste like chicken. It may have been the most disappointing chicken parm I ever had. With that came house made spaghetti. It was awful. The texture was off and the sauce on it was worse than the chicken parm which I thought would be the same sauce. The spaghetti tasted like it was cooked in fish water. No clue why spaghetti would taste so much like fish it was gross. I just about always finish my meal everywhere I go or box up what I can't finish. I just left the half meal that was left for the trash. After hearing a few people rave about this place I can't believe how bad it was. All tho much nicer than an Olive Garden the food was way worse. This evening my husband and I decided to give it another chance and stopped in for happy hour.We were pleasantly surprised by the improvement in the food, drinks and service. Although I haven't revisited the regular menu again, the happy hour menu was great. A nice selection of wines was a mere $5 per glass and cocktails were $9. The happy hour food was great and only $5 per item...meatball or sausage sliders, calamari, coconut shrimp. We ordered the roasted peppers, olives and cheese. It was extremely good and even came with a basket of bread. We each had a cocktail and they were perfectly prepared. The ambiance is also very nice in the restaurant they even have live music. We had never been to this location before so we asked the manager if it was as good as Mays Landing and Hammonton and he said it was. He did not lie, the food was great! The bread was fresh and the Sangria was decent, but everything else was subpar. Got the Coconut Shrimp appetizer. Overcooked (almost burned) and not very flavorful. The salads were meh. I got a Ceasar and my wife got the house salad. For the entrees we chose the Joe's Special Shrimp and Crab Scampi with Capellini. The portion size was fine, and the Shrimp we cooked ok but the pasta was swimming in about an inch of sauce, which was mostly water. Could barely taste the butter and garlic. My wife got the scallops in a blush sauce over spaghetti. Scallops were cooked ok, but the sauce was way too thick and looked like leftover sauce from a week ago. In addition, both of our dishes were luke warm at best. Heard a lot of hype about this place, This was our first time here and we were pretty disappointed. Dined here recently with friends and while the ambiance was nice and service friendly, I was underwhelmed by the food. The veal parm was ok but really lacked flavor. The pasta was bland as was the red sauce that accompanied it. Oh - and there's a $1 upcharge to change from a side of spaghetti to penne. SERIOUSLY?? You can tell me their pasta isn't already cooked and sitting in the kitchen waiting to be heated through and served. And here's a tip - salt the pasta water. It had zero taste. The house salad is not bad. I wish it had a bit more seasoning. The fried ravioli was good, the red sauce was flavorful. The chicken and broccoli alfredo was disappointing while it was very creamy. There was no flavor to sauce or chicken. My husband ordered the veal parm. It was so thin that it was dry with no seasoning. Maybe it was an off night.
