Went there on the Sunday before Christmas. I didn't eat and my water was too wet. My kids hardly ate. My wife and mother-in-law ate a meal. I was shocked that my ticket was $80. I had good service but it makes me mad when they suggest your tip amounts on the bill and it starts at 15%. So now I'm obligated to tip my overpriced meal at %15?!?. It has it for 20% and 25%...They may as well put 1000% because I'm not tipping that either. Both mama and my wife thoroughly enjoyed their meals. read more

Not a good experience for us last night at Joes Crab Shack. The staff were cheerful and helpful but the crab legs (why we go there) were not good. Dry no flavor and old looking maybe refrozen. The shrimp and crab dip appetizer was not good either and came out after the crab. The draft beer was great ...I should have drank my dinner. The kicker was about a 30% increase in the cost. Our final cost was $140 for 2 snow crab orders and 1 beer plus a late appetizer. We won't go here next visit. read more

Remarkably bad service ordering from this JCS on a Wednesday evening here in Setierville. Of note, this was an UberEats order. However, I cannot hold UberEats responsible for the issues here. UberEats delivered the food incredibly fast, which tells me the restaurant made it incredibly fast. However, we had a rather large order - 8 meals and over $200 worth. It is increased likelihood that something will go wrong with a larger order; however, it should be expected that extra care be taken and things double checked so that that doesn't occur. We were missing many items - out of 8 meals, 5 were missing items of varying degree. Two meals were missing their only aides. One was missing a drink. One still was missing part of the main entree, and another was missing the sauce that was supposed to be included. It was really disappointing when we received it. I hope someone at their store reads this review and applies more attention-to-detail in the future. You will have less unhappy customers! read more

What can I say, food is excellent and full of flavor! The service was perfect, the waitress even snuck in 3 hush puppies with my clam strips and fries! She went above and beyond to please the customer. Another plus is the location, we ate lunch and then headed to Tanger for a day of shopping. Give this place a visit, it will be worth it. read more

Great place to get crabs :) ... I little pricy though. You get a bib if you'll be eating crab. There is a pail embedded into the table with paper towel in it, but don't try to pop a squat, there are bathrooms for that, this is for your shells and keeping yourself kinda clean. They have a sink special for us crab eaters. They have crayons and a playground for the kids. What better way than to keep your kids occupied while you dig out every piece of crab meat from every crevice. Would I come back, You Betcha! read more

Really good food, really awful service. It was so bad we had to speak to the manager. We went around 4:30 on a Friday so it was not seriously busy and the wait staff out numbered the customers by a large margin. We were greeted right away and seated right away but it was all down hill from there as far as customer experience. After 10 minutes we finally got our beverages. Apparently, two glasses of water was time consuming to produce. You would think they would take our order when they brought our beverages. You would be wrong! 15 minutes later I had to stop a server (which was easy as they sat us in front of the kitchen doors) and ask them to track down someone to take our order. I was assured they would find someone and also bring the manager. 5 minutes later a server finally showed up, apologizing. But here we are, 30 minutes into the game and we still only have water. So we order an appetizer and two entrees. We wait and I finally get a refill on my water. Since its the only thing I've gotten so far, l'm floating. I figure I should make a quick trip to the restroom. No wonder we couldn't get service! A third of the female servers are in there texting. They were in there the entire time I was, hiding from their boss and customers. I got back to my table and there were our entrees. But still no appetizer. Isn't that supposed to come first? I figure enough is enough and demand to speak to the manager who never came by before like promised. This time I stood at our table until he got there. When he did, I read him the riot act. He swore he'd make our food over and in the correct order AND give us a discount. While we were talking, our appetizer showed up. Fried clams (and they did look good) so we decided to stay. They took away our entrees and promised us fresh food after we've had a chance to eat the clams. I wanted to stay angry; I really did. But the fried clams were delicious little nuggets of perfectly cooked yumminess. The staff became super attentive and the manager checked on us several times. Then our entrees came: snow crab; mine seasoned with Old Bay, my husband's with spicy cajun. O M G! The crab was amazing. It was hot, meaty, sweet and expertly cooked. We devoured our meals and with every bite I became more zen. I've had snow crab at a lot of restaurants and this was among the best I've ever had. The manager was true to his word and gave us a generous discount. I'm not going to say I am positive we won't experience problems if we go again but I am willing to give them another chance on a different day. read more

Order the crab buckets. Crab Taste was fine but you hardly get any crab for the price. Potatoes hard and nasty couldn't eat those. Spent $200 for 4 crab buckets for 4 people and everyone left hungry. My daughter got the pasta shrimp Alfredo and she said it was terrible. read more

While Joe's is a chain restaurant, this was my first trip to it. I tried the steam pot, which was delicious and large enough to share with others. I would also recommend their lobster bisque. If you're shopping at the outlets nearby, this restaurant is a good option for food nearby. read more

The 'call ahead and put your name on the waiting list' service was great and we spent only 25 min waiting on site of the total 45 min wait. We were notified our table was ready by our cell phone. CALL AHEAD TO AVOID THE WAITING ESPECIALLY ON A TENNESSEE HOME GAME WEEKEND! Once we ordered with our server Autumn, [she was great and engaging with us and made great suggestions. Very good service the entire night] our appetizer arrived quickly, followed by our crab buckets. My son and I had the crab buckets [mine with lobster] and my husband had the steak frites. The steak could have been a little better but the crab and lobster buckets were perfection [side of corn on the cob was spicy but potatoes were bland]. Old bay seasoning on the steamed buckets made for a very low calorie meal. Our son had never had crab, so it was a fun experience for him also to crack the crab. All other staff we encountered were great also. The only downside was the price. ..SUPER EXPENSIVE!! ....the crab and lobster buckets were about $30 a piece [$60] and with the shrimp appetizer and my husband's steak frites and our drinks [tea], for 3 people to eat was about $104.00 before tip. We were in town for a anniversary/bday vacation and I had to beg my husband to take me here. We usually go to the Newport, Ky location because we live in WV and they have been continuously so bad that my husband swore off all Joe's Crab Shacks! Thank god I was able to talk him into taking me here because before I could even make it to the door the manager Jake meet us with a smile and walked us to our table while talking to us like he had known us forever. The great experience doesn't end there, our server Shelby was so sweet, hands on and knowledgeable about the menu that we felt like we were dining in a five star restaurant. My son and I went to Joe's for a quick lunch on a Saturday after going to the outlet mall our server Jake was awesome to say the least he know how to be around kids he has a welcoming attitude. I have a 4 year old and usually I have trouble getting him to eat which means I don't get to finish a meal but thanks to this place and Jake not only did I get to eat my wonderful meal my son cleared his plate to get ice cream and a toy shark he calls Mr. Sharkey. My wife had fried fish, she enjoyed her as well. My intentions wer to get a bucket of legs but I wasn't going to pay over $20 for my meal alone. We get a DoorDash credit which trust me we will not be using with this location. DoorDash delivers what comes out of the restaurant... two dinners and one order of pie apparently exceeds their capabilities. Waited for a HOUR at our table before anyone noticed we were sitting there and asked if anyone had helped us yet and we replied No. No drinks nothing. And he ment just the kids cause when we went to order our drinks 2 coke cola's he ran off. 15 mins later he comes back said "our server was too busy to help us" and had came back with the kids drinks and said he would take over. So we ordered 2 appetizers our drinks and our dinner. Our 180.00 meal Order came out COLD and WRONG!!! We asked for the bucket of king crab which is over 60.00 and was served a side of crab legs 28.00. They take that back(keep in mind we haven't touched it) and I kid you not they came back with the same side of king crab but with one corn cob and 2 potatoes and charged us over 60.00 for it. We got served 1 drink each coke cola. We asked for a refill and waited for 25 mins when he comes back and gives us our check. We asked about the refills he said "oh I forgot". This place wasn't busy at all. And the employees were walking around like they were half asleep. It's the most horrible experience and service I have ever had. So much for a great birthday dinner. Good seafood place to eat. Unfortunately the one back home in Indiana has closed. Shrimp was firm and fresh and the crab legs were large and meaty. The hush puppies were also fresh and tasty and properly seasoned. I did not try the lobster, perhaps next time although I did try their lobster bisque and it was really good.. Service here was excellent. They also gave a retired military discount which was greatly appreciated. Back to the food. The crab cakes were delicious and was really fresh. Price as at all of the Joe's Crab Shacks was a bit pricey but after all it is a seafood place and this is far from the ocean. To start, the drinks were good. We ventured across the drink menu and tried many mixed drinks. I had a couple Bloody Mary's and was pleased with them for sure. I'd say we had a good variety of the menu as well. Crawfish, Calimari, Shrimp (Boiled), Stuffed Shrimp, Spicy Crab Balls, Crab Cakes, Crab Dip, Andouilli Sausage, Potatoes, Corn on the Cob, etc... They ranged from what you'd expect to very good. The service was good as well. The reason that I give this meal a 2.5 is because the smell of urine coming from the bathroom area seemed to work it's way to our table. It didn't seem to be something I could escape. We visited Joe's the last night of our stay in Pigeon Forge. We called ahead before we left the hotel (around 6:30pm) and the wait time was 1 hour to 1 hr 10 mins...they added us to the list. We checked in when we arrived and took a seat on the bench to people watch while we waited ...we did have to wait about the full time for our table. I got the peel and eat shrimp for an appetizer and it was so good...I ordered Go Shrimpin' as my main dish. There was a lot of shrimp. Everything was fresh, service was great, had plenty of food leftover to take back to the room. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the crab & cream cheese stuffed shrimp...they put A LOT of cream cheese in the stuffing...I scraped most of the cream cheese off. We asked management, and they said that was the rate for the whole county. We checked with other local restaurants like Hard Rock, Blue Moose, and Sunliner.
