Checked out Joe's Sports Cafe on our way home. The walleye fingers appetizer portion is HUGE! You get 7 decent size pieces. We were part way into the cheese-curds but after trying the walleye fingers, I decided to post about this place. So you get a photo of curds with drips of ranch. The burger was nice and thick as was the bacon. It was pretty busy when we arrived at 6 pm Sunday evening and people just kept coming. It was a good choice right off interstate. read more

The service was awful and we never got the extra sides that we paid for. We ordered takeout, the waitress was incredibly rude when we spoke to her about picking up the takeout order... she then quite literally threw the order onto the bar and stormed off. We hadn't ate there in a while and now I remember why. Don't waste your time or money. read more

This may have been an off night as I've been here before and it was a lot better. Burger was dry and almost burnt on one side but at least it was hot, unlike the fries. Fries were good to the taste but you expect them to be at least warm, not room temperature. There are a lot of TVs here, music isn't too loud. Our server doesn't seem to want to be here tonight. Last visit wasn't pretty, the moment I step foot in the building all I heard was Taylor yelling disrespectful things twords me, even sat at the bar, looked me dead in the eyes and said disgusting three times to my face then giggled to her friends. I just had my first experience having super at Joes for a very long time due to Covid19! I made reservations, and arrived with my mask on, as the rest of my party! The staff all had masks on and were very professional! We ordered our food and it came just the way we ordered it! The food was very good! The waitress, checked on us a number of times ! The experience at Joe's for me and my friends was very positive! I gave a lot of comfort that they are following the rules and have a safe place to dine out ! read more

Fantastic customer service. The black & bleu salad is one of the best salads I've ever had. It consisted of Blackened Sirloin, Mixed Greens, Bleu Cheese Crumbles, Diced Tomato, Red Onion, Croutons And Bleu Cheese Dressing. It was served with a piece of Parmesan grilled French bread. My coworker ordered the same salad, & he thought his was fantastic as well! It was a very large, filling salad! read more

It really depends on what you order and apparently the day. Previously we have had good food there but this weekend it was bad. Our fish tasted like it had been sitting under a fast food warmer and was dry. We ordered wings because previously they had been great; today they were small and very dry. Overall the food was Luke warm. We waited over an hour for it so just tried to eat it. When the waitress asked how the food was we were honest and she acted like we were just trying to get free food. She had an attitude and said well if you told me right away I would of remade it but all I can do is take off the pop. I asked if they had a new cook or if the food had been sitting; trying to figure out why it was not good. She seemed really irritated and was condescending. I feel bad I recommended this place to my family that was visiting us. We will not be returning. read more

We stopped by because I really wanted Mexican food yeah, that didn't happen but it was cold and rainy so I decided to have a gooey cheeseburger and Mashed potatoes! Did I mention the rain and cold? The cheeseburger was fine - nothing remarkable but not bad. The potatoes were fantastic. My gorilla opted for the broasted chicken and mashed potatoes, again, cold and wet outside, and he's been talking about that chicken for three days. I was a regular and had been happy with service and quality of food. I attempted to order for takeout and was refused and basically mocked. I have heard of restaurants doing takeout only, but never that they won't accept a takeout order. I have spent my last penny at a place that has such disregard for a customer. read more

Initially, I really didn't want to come to this place to eat because it screamed "small town boring food" and "dive bar"... but a sweet coworker of mine suggested we try it and so I went, with low expectations... ...and was pleasantly surprised. So much so, I've been here twice now. The food here is pretty good! And the service is good as well. Portions are huge for the price. Noise level is low (maybe goes up a little when my coworker and I are there...). You walk in and seat yourself, I like the booth seating. For this particular review, I'm going to just combine both of my previous visits and any new visits will be separate. I've ordered: Mac n Cheese bites: gooey once bitten into, pretty darn good. Cajun Waffle Fries: delicious, and the seasoned sour cream that goes with it is awesome (dip the mac n cheese bites in this!). Honey bbq ribs: really delish! The sauce is finger-licking good. Coleslaw, mashed potatoes and gravy, french bread--I put all of this away somewhere, not sure how. Steak with garlic butter: I usually get medium well-done so I can avoid the bloody juices. Cooked as requested, though the outside was a little bit more charred than I would've liked. Came with mashed potatoes and gravy and bread--all really good. Wait staff don't constantly bother my coworker and I, which is appreciated since we tend to have NSFW conversations (LOL), it's easy enough to flag them down if and when we need something though. Service is fast and attentive. The restaurant area is in a separate room from the bar so that makes me happy and a little more comfortable. Oh, also, I accidentally left a small photo printer in the women's restroom during my first visit. Some kind gal had turned it in at the bar as I walked in to retrieve it--bar guy looked like he was just about to open it (grr!) until I said "THAT'S MINE!". I can not comment on the food or service but realize that this is not a "Sports Bar". It is a bar with TV's. A sports bar would have the sound of a large game on so sports fans can hear the game. A sports bar would have more than 1 game on the TV's when it's a Saturday and their is 15 games on. The atmosphere seems pretty good for a sports bar and I wish this were one. Came in on a Saturday and all the TV's were on the Gophers game. I get it, we are in Minnesota but I think we could have a few side TV's on another game. Also, no sound on the TV so there is really not much point. read more

Very disappointed. Terrible service. Watched two other tables get waited on as we sat with no drinks even. Finally waitress said bartender was supposed to wait on us but took our order. I ordered the pot roast dip which I've enjoyed before. The au jus was pure salt. Totally inedible and burned your mouth like eating just salt. After asking the bartender for different au jus he said sorry you don't like it it's already made up in a big batch and bouillon is salty. He brought hot water to me and said try diluting it. Came on Mother's Day. Reduced menu was fine. There were still lots of options. Perfect experience if... - You don't want silverware until the third request - You want the staff complaining on the floor about how busy they are and how no one is doing their job. - You want your food delivered by a server who seems like the customers are an inconvenience - You want au jus (at least, the au jus that wasn't spilled when it was delivered to the table) that is so salty it's nearly inedible - You don't actually want a refill on a soda - You want a drink that is almost all syrup and virtually alcohol-free On the other hand, the appetizers were hot. read more

We happened to be in town for a youth hockey tournament and had a couple hours to find something to eat. We realized that a group ad large as ours might be hard to accommodate but we thought we would ask if they could serve us. The response was extremely rude and aggressive. we were basically told that we needed to leave and that we were completely ignorant for not calling ahead. A simple "I'm sorry but we aren't able to accommodate your group right now" would've been sufficient. No worries though. we took our thousands of dollars worth of business to the Crookd Pint and they were able to serve us immediately. It's too bad that Joes was so rude considering that this team will likely be back to Faribault in the future but never back to Joes. read more

We drive an hour just to come eat here it's that good and the service is that good too. You could eat for days just off the appetizer menu which is amazing. The candied bacon is to die for!! Doesn't look like too much from outside but don't be fooled, go in and enjoy yourself!! Lots of TVs and some pull tabs. read more

First time at joes. It was busy no signs to tell you to seat yourself or wait to be seated. So didn't know stood there. Finally just sat down Waited for 10 Mins finally someone came over greeted us. Took a while for refills The walleye app was good kinda greasy thou. I ordered the brisket sandwich wasn't happy. It was like eating actual beef Jerky. Couldn't even eat it. Son ordered chickens strips. Just seemed like it was all frozen just cooked again For the prices they are high for what they serve people. I told a lady about the brisket She says well ya I hate it. I wouldn't even eat that. That was from an employee too. Won't be back. I will be going to The Depot in town from now on read more

We just got done eating supper and we are both BEYOND PISSED OFF!! Started off by waitress telling us to sit wherever. That was after waiting at the door 5+ minutes. Got to the table and my boyfriend asked if there is any specials ? Waitress said, "No, we haven't had for a long time." But, your SPECIAL". CREEPY......and a bit harassment. Then we ate our whole meal and not 1 time did she come back and ask how our meal was but, the couple behind us and in front of us got asked. She then put the bill down and it was $55.18. So, we put a$100 dollar bill down. She grabbed it and brought the change back. So, we told her to just give us $40 back and she could have the rest.... Worst. Service. Ever. I've eaten at a lot of places, and had a lot of bad service... but tonight takes the cake. First off, I come in at 5:45 with my bouncy 2 1/2 year old and my parents. I will note that we've been here before and though I've always found the waitstaff a little slow and sometimes spacey (often we've had to get our own set-ups/cutlery) they were generally pretty nice and the food was decent. Tonight was HORRID. We came in, and were told to sit anywhere - the place was full-ish, but not packed. The waitress came over and I gave her my daughter's kid meal order immediately, as I always do when dining with a toddler, and my parents and I took a little longer to pick our meals. Skip ahead....40 MINUTES LATER... my child's simple kid's menu cheeseburger had still not been brought out.... REALLY? For a KIDS MEAL? The whole point is that it's supposed to be QUICK and EASY! Meanwhile my girl is jumping in the booth, pestering her neighbors, colored in every coloring book I had brought for her and STILL hasn't been fed. I am told it should be out in about TEN MORE MINUTES... are you serious? Just as I think about walking out but realize my only other options at this point are a Burger Kind and Dairy Queen... her Burger comes out... But I have to chase down the waitress to give us cutlery because I have a 2 1/2 year old who needs her burger cut up. She seems so shocked that I'd actually need silverware! She doesn't even know the term "set-up"... Really? But where are our meals? As my family and I are suffering from low blood sugar because we are so hungry my mother decides to talk to a manager. She tells her, like it's common knowledge, Burgers generally take 45 minutes.... Which is total BS because I've eaten here before and it's never taken that long... especially for the kid's meal. And let me point out that most establishments with common sense will tell you when you order a meal that takes longer.... IT TAKES LONGER! So OVER ONE HOUR after ordering a kid's burger, 2 "adult" burgers and my mother's broasted chicken they FINALLY come out! And my TURKEY BURGER has freakin' bacon on it!! Who puts bacon on a turkey burger??? I don't eat red meat or pork which is why I ordered a freakin' turkey burger!! I realize the design of the menu is so poor that I couldn't read the bacon part because the genius who wrote it put BLACK INK on BLACK PRINT.... (Enter Head Thunk Here) I am so hungry that I just hand the waitress the bacon and just cut the top off of my burger and devour it before I end up literally biting off the head of one of the waitstaff. My parents were kindly treating and I made sure there was no tip... Except this one... WHEN SERVING SOMEONE WITH A SMALL CHILD IT IS IMPERATIVE YOU LET THEM KNOW IF THERE IS A LONG WAIT TIME... Joe's is like the crazy step mother that changes moods all of the time. I've gone in there and had a really great experience, gone two days later and wanted to walk out before I even got my food. The service is very inconsistent although the quality of the food is always pretty good. I particularily enjoy their walleye sandwich (on a cheat day of course) and their salads. If you're interested in watching a sporting event on tv, they do have a lot of tvs and appear to have an extensive bar. read more

We came to Joes on a Thursday for lunch. It wasn't too busy. The waitress was pleasant but not real bright....We told her we had never been here before & she just stared into space, she didn't recommend anything, she didn't tell us about the salad bar...she didn't mention any specials... she just dropped the menus & left. I ordered the burger with blue cheese on a pretzel roll. It was so over cooked that it actually had a crunchy layer on the beef patty. Waffle fries were cold and not anything special for the extra cost. Dan's wrap had beef in it that had an odd taste. Freezer burn or it was last nights special??? So we're on the road heading from Mpls. to Kansas City and went through the drive through at Burger King, while viewing the $8.95 for a chicken sandwich deal my wife spots Joe's sign: "Broasted Chicken" and said, "let's try that" We are SO glad we stopped and had dinner. Friday night at 5:00 PM so not too busy, the wait staff were nice and very helpful. Mary Jo had Broasted Chicken and I had the BLT: Both were excellent. Really. Mary Jo is picky so for her to say the mashed potato's were good and so was the cole-slaw. It had to be good. The fries were excellent too, they were crunchy and had little color so very fresh oil was used. Mary Jo said tell them "I liked the music too" Great spot prices were so fair for the quality of the food. We're so glad we skipped Burger King:) read more

A large group of us showed up on a Friday night for drinks and while we thought it would be busy for a Friday night, it was relatively quiet. We had a nice server who made sure to keep our pitchers of beer full and always making sure that we had everything we needed. Unfortunately I can't comment on the food since we only came here for drinks, but it looks like some others are appreciative of the burgers! Our family has been eating at Joes for years and have always enjoyed the experience. As of lately we have been extremely disappointed with the service. Last Friday we went out for dinner and I ordered the chicken and ribs. After waiting for 35 minutes our waiter approached me and said that the ribs were going to be a bit longer. I was ok with that but 20 minutes later he came back and told me that the chicken would be a while. So at this point we had been there for close to an hour with no end in site. We decided to leave as it was 8:30 already and no real answer as to how long it would be. The one thing I will add is that there were maybe 10 people there on Friday night which should have been a red flag. As we went to pay for our drinks the manager got angry that we were leaving and said that she had deducted our food from our bill (food that we never received which seemed odd to me, why would anyone pay for services they did not receive?) As I explained that we should not have been billed and that we were frequent customers a waitress at the bar who literally just sat on her phone actually said, "We don't care if you are here or not". It was like an episode of Bar Rescue. It really takes a lot for me to write a poor review but I would stay away from this place. Service used to be great, food was great, but those days are long gone and when they tell the customers that they don't care about them it really tells you something about their priorities. I mentioned this to a couple co-workers and they said they had similar problems and stated that they will no longer support Joes and will take their business else-where. If this was a one time incident I would and could understand but after 3 or 4 bad experiences I just don't want to continue to support a business that really seems to care less about the people that keep them in business. The gal who manages during the evenings has no people skills what so ever and will continue to run the place into the ground. This is the closest bar to my house. They have good food, too. But for some reason they refuse to sell a single IPA, which for me makes it the worst bar I know. If you like beer with flavor, you won't like it at Joe's. I still ask for an IPA every time my friends choose this lousy bar. From now on I'll give them a poor rating on Yelp every time that happens. My family went in for supper sat night. 6 of us. 2 had all you can eat ribs. This was the worst service I have ever had in my life. The server would bring 1 meal, then 10 min later another meal. My grandson was the last to get his meal 45 minutes after the 1st meal was brought to the table. Its hard to enjoy your meal when half the party is sitting there hungry waiting for their plate. We were one of the first tables in the back room, as we watched tables that came in after us get served as we continued to wait. I have since talked to 3 managers. 2 last night and 1 today, as they continue to say, they were busy, and there were screw ups in the kitchen, as though that excuses the horrible meal we had. The 10 minute wait time between each plate that arrived. While other tables were getting their entire tables meals, Also, no one came back to ask if the 2 wanted more all you can eat ribs. I asked for catchup that never came. No one came back for refills, or to ask if our meal was okay. This same thing happened to my son in law and family not to long ago at Joes. The 2nd manager I spoke to last night took off a 8 dollar meal and extra 5 dollars off of a $100 bill as this was suppose to make it okay. The manager I talked to today simply made excuses for the horrible service. I will NEVER go into that place again. Had they taken responsibility for their pathetic service, and done something more to make up for it, I would have believed they made an effort. The money isn't the issue, its the rotten service they would not stand behind, and the excuse of being busy that was suppose to make it okay, and we were just suppose to except that pay, and be happy. They turned a birthday dinner into a really bad time. And the best they would do is take the 45 minute late 8 dollar meal, and a extra 5 dollars off, and get pissy that I was not understanding.
