I really loved Cindarella's Attic, if you're looking for a special accent chair, or a dresser in a unique color this is the place to go.

She does have pretty nice costume jewelry (not really my thing I am a dude), paint for furniture, handmade soap and other assorted items (we got some pretty sweet porcelain door knobs too). We haven't attended one of her classes, but on Saturdays you can learn how to paint furniture (shabby chic style), and you leave with the piece you worked on. This Goodwill isn't the largest, it is still a nice size. Their clothing is sorted by size and by color. The books could be much better organized. If the kid's books, and at the very least "adult" books could be on separate shelves it would make browsing a lot easier. It is worth a look as most will run you $1.99. One of the things that makes me a bit sad is when I find someone's grandma in a framed portrait. You won't be finding my grandma's picture at any Goodwill. Another thing that I'm a bit confused about, is whoever gets rid of handmade pottery. They all have their names engraved on the bottom. When I asked to see my fabric and wood finish combination they sales manager wasn't able to pull it up visually for me on the computer. The software used only allowed him to show me the fabric on the chair and it didn't even look anything like the fabric I picked. Don't walk in expecting a "designer" to help you with your vision because I felt I was on my own. I walked in with a few styles I had in mind. I have tons and tons of pictures but for some reason I was directed a different direction, I'm glad I'm stubborn or else I would have been sold a piece I could have gotten from Bob's. We've visited their Simsbury store a bunch of times, and we saw pretty much the same selection of low priced goods here in Glastonbury - men's & women's clothing, shoes, household goods, artwork, books, toys, etc. We caught a 50% off sale on clothing yesterday, and I walked out with a $15 blazer for $7.50. Pretty sweet, eh? All proceeds go to charity (The Village for Families) and the store employees are all volunteers. The two women we interacted with were as nice and friendly as could be, we really enjoyed chatting with them. Bottom line? You can score some great bargains and support a worthy charity all at the same time.
