## **Detailed Review of Royal Renovators (Experience from ~2023) **…read more My experience with Royal Renovators in 2023 was extremely disappointing, unprofessional, and ultimately costly. I normally don't leave reviews, but the level of incompetence and deception I encountered deserves to be shared so others can avoid the same situation. ### **1. Repeated Misdiagnoses and Unnecessary Charges** We originally contacted Royal Renovators because our roof was leaking. They came out twice and still couldn't identify the source of the problem. Each visit came with new explanations and new charges, none of which made sense in hindsight. Eventually, they claimed they had finally found the issue and charged us approximately **$4,800** for the repair. We trusted their assessment and paid, hoping the leak would finally be resolved. ### **2. Leak Still Present -- and More Confusion** The next time it rained, the leak was still there. Same spot, same issue. When we called them back, they used a drone to inspect the roof but still couldn't figure out what was wrong. Their uncertainty was alarming. We ended up using **our own drone**, and we were the ones who actually located the problem area. When we pointed it out to them, they insisted the leak was coming from the chimney area -- which was completely incorrect. At that point, it was obvious they were guessing, not diagnosing. ### **3. The Skylight Disaster** While they were assessing the roof leak, we made the mistake of agreeing to have a skylight installed at the same time. That turned out to be another huge error. The skylight they installed looks like a **DIY project**, not professional work. It has a **constant draft**, and when the weather gets cold, the draft is unbearable. It's clear they had no idea what they were doing, and the workmanship reflects that. Instead of adding value to our home, the skylight became another problem we had to live with. ### **4. Lack of Professionalism and Skill** Between the misdiagnosed leak, the sloppy skylight installation, and the inconsistent explanations, it became clear that the workers and foremen lacked the knowledge and professionalism expected from a roofing company. Their priority seemed to be collecting payments, not fixing the actual issues. ### **5. A Competent Company Fixed Everything** We finally decided to get a second opinion and found **2BQ Roofing**. The difference was immediate. They assessed the roof and instantly identified the real issue -- something Royal Renovators failed to do after multiple visits and thousands of dollars. 2BQ Roofing fixed the problem correctly, and here we are **three years later with not a single drop of water**. That alone speaks volumes. ### **6. Final Thoughts** I would never recommend Royal Renovators to anyone. Their service was unprofessional, their workers were incompetent, and their repeated misdiagnoses cost us time, stress, and money. The skylight installation was just the final confirmation that they were not capable of doing the job. If you're looking for a roofing company that actually knows what they're doing, skip Royal Renovators entirely. Our experience with them was a complete waste, and the only real solution came from hiring a different company.

Big Apple Renovators

This here is a review for Jon and the Big Apple Renovators' crew for their roof replacement job…read more(June 2022). What started out as a minor roof repair for a water leak developed into one of my better home investment decisions. As a first-time homebuyer experiencing an ongoing leak, I weighed my options for a roof repair with several roofing contractors. What stood out about Jon and his team was their positive reviews and responsiveness. An estimator came to my home in less than 12 hours for a free quote and more importantly, provided insight to where the water was coming from and options to remedy the problem. Based on my conversations I decided to go with a small, repair job. When the roofers began their work, the situation evolved into something more serious. Inside I feared this all along: that a repair would only delay the water from eventually coming back into the house. And that's when I talked it over in person with Jon. He sparked my inner financier and advised that a complete roof replacement would be a long-term investment for the home and the work would be covered for 50 years under the GAF warranty. I agreed. Unbelievably, his crew of 10 guys showed up the next morning, and like a well-oiled machine, completed the job that same day. Jon and his crew were a pleasure to deal with and I appreciate them fitting me into their schedule on such short notice. I put utmost value in customer service and Jon exceeded them completely. Only time will tell how the roof holds up, but I'm confident if there's any issues, he'll be the first to know and respond. Peace of mind goes a long way, thanks Jon and B.A.R.!

My entire roof had to get redone (luckily the wood was good), but it's a small house. So it was done in one day. They also informed my neighbors about the work before they started (which was great). They did a good job cleaning up. I had my roof done back in June. I haven't had any issues since. I was concerned about an issue but they came in immediately and checked it, and it was fine - I'm a first time homeowner so almost everything makes my antsy. I'm not easy to please, but I'd definitely recommend this company to others for roof replacements.

(Roof repair/roof leak/fixing valley) I am sorry that I…read moreposted this review late. I promised Bill to post this on 12/8/2021(FYI, I am not getting any discount/money for posting a review). Bill and his crews did a great job of fixing the roof leak! It hasn't been leaking so far after the fix on 12/6/2021. Although they are not the cheapest among the vendors offering to fix the roof, they were very responsive, offered a great quality of work and a 10 years warranty! While all the other contractors I talked to needed at least 2 - 4 weeks before actually fixing it, Bill did the inspection himself and was able to schedule the work in about 3-4 days! His crews, Mario and another man who can't speak much English took just 1 day to install the new valley membrane and finish all the patching. And they cleaned up all the garbage promptly. There were only 2 things I was a little bit concerned about, which Bill promptly and patiently answered. (1) It's a bit cloudy/rainy on 12/6, so I was worried that might affect their work and was wondering if Bill wanted to reschedule. But Bill, based on his experience, assured me that they would be able to finish the work before the rain, and it shouldn't have any impact. (2) It's stated on the contract that the valley roofing material will be "new Firestone roofing with black mineral surface", but eventually what's installed is "Firestone SBS White". Bill explained that the white one would be a better fit because a silver coating is needed for the black one, and with Firestone SBS White, the silver coating is not needed. I am really glad and appreciate that Bill took the time to patiently and promptly address my concerns, and explained everything thoroughly to me! And he is very flexible with the payment methods as well! Overall, Bill and his teams did an awesome job! Thank you very much for the hard work! And I will post an update in 3 months - 1 year if anyone is interested!

They came out the same day, went up on the roof, and quickly identified a small hole that two other companies completely missed. Both of those companies quoted me around $2,500, saying I would need to remove fascia and gutters--without even inspecting the roof properly. Bill White Roofing was honest, straightforward, and saved me from unnecessary work and costs. It's so refreshing to deal with people who truly care about doing the right thing. I will absolutely be referring them to all of my neighbors and will continue to call them for any roofing needs in the future.

I've been living in my home for over 20 years and we have only layered new roofs over the old one as temporary patches. But their team showed me soft spots and I knew that it was time for a full tearoff and replacement of my roof. They worked with me on pricing from different discount programs they had. From start to finish, their team was professional, they detailed the estimate with all the particulars I asked for, they answered rounds of questions by email that I had with their office and project managers, and on the day of the installation they showed up early 730am, were professional, they communicated with me and sent photos throughout the job with drone photos and pictures and videos from the roof itself. Thank you to Sean, Eric, Mike, Jaime, and Eden - they explained every step of the process clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure I felt comfortable throughout. The quality of the work came out outstanding, and they completed the job on time in 1 day in fact and within my original budget. I highly recommend Royal for their roofing work. Dan from ny roofing was great throughout the whole process. he worked with us to choose aluminum gutters and downspouts that have the same exact copper appearance and historical style but without the actual scrap value of real copper. honestly you cant even tell the difference unless someone points it out to you. it ended up being the perfect solution for our landmark property because we kept the original character of the building while avoiding future theft issues. another thing we really appreciated was that dan helped coordinate with the local landmarks department and handled the lpc permit process for approval on the exterior changes. dealing with landmark regulations in park slope brooklyn is usually stressful but he made the process alot easier and kept the board updated the whole time. his crew did a faboulous job with the installation and cleanup and really paid attention to the details. if you need landmark roofing, gutter replacement, historic restoration or exterior waterproofing work in brooklyn nyc i highly reccomend ny roofing.

I'm an architect and my wife's an engineer, so we went deep into the search for a Brooklyn roofing contractor. Not as easy as you'd think: most companies chase bigger commercial gigs, and finding someone solid who actually cares about residential work took some digging. We ended up hiring NY Roofing. They handled everything--ripped out the rotted wood decking, added DensDeck recovery board so we're set up for a future rooftop solar setup, laid down a cold process SBS modified bitumen roof, reinforced every detail with liquid flashing, and hooked us up with a heavy-duty 6K commercial gutter system to finally fix the drainage mess. The crew finished the whole job in just two working days, right on schedule. They kept the site spotless and really watched out for our property and our neighbors--super considerate. Honestly, their professionalism, speed, and workmanship blew us away. If you need reliable roofing or waterproofing help in Brooklyn, I'd recommend NY Roofing without hesitation.
