The remodel is remarkable! Nothing like the original at all (which is not bad, it's modern). The customer service is great; from start. J and Amanda, were excited to welcome old guests to the new John Martin's. Amanda brought over the manager, Jose and he was great; warm and welcoming. Those are the pros. The downs were with the food and the noise level. The food had too much going on; it's like going on a date with someone who is so hot and then they have bad breath or too much cologne (worse is a combination of the two), but they're really nice so you'll give them a chance again. The chef tried too hard on every dish. The flatbread has great taste but it's too much with the sauce. We ordered a salad with lite dressing and that resulted in absolutely no dressing. To have a conversation, you're literally yelling because something is way off with the inability to carry a conversation. If you're going there for drinks and sports, you'll LOVE it! And there were A LOT of families with kids (the kids were well behaved). After the experiences with the dishes, we decided to leave. Reasons why we will go back: Jose genuinely cared about our feedback and I'm all about supporting local businesses. The customer service goes a long way. Hopefully the recommendations shared from customers are taken into consideration and modified. Sometimes, you gotta keep it simple on a menu versus going over the top. Well it's Saint Patrick's day. Good time good people. But man for one of the only Irish pubs in the area.... You'd think they would tell their DJs to play Irish music. Not new wave 80s. Now don't get me wrong. I enjoy that music but set the mood and cater to the day. It's not hard to hit search on a playlist and say Irish and only play that. Kinda disappointed and won't be coming back for the best at Patrick's day festivities. More than likely head north to Fort Lauderdale. At least they get into the spirit of the day. read more

Entire staff was on slo-roll bc there's just not a heavy brunch/lunch crowd I'll still give it another go, but my advice is stick to the Irish dishes, and mgmt could stand to ensure front staff knows there's a particular skill set for hospitality needed at the host stand, I mean, you could totally redeploy this host to bouncer on nights. Sick Money Grab Went to the St Patrick's Day party today on 3/17 and had a great time despite John Martin's. The JM street bars were automatically adding a 20% tip for you to wait in line in the sun! Are you freaking high??? I ordered two drinks and asked the bartender to change the tip to $2 because I ordered 2 drinks which they did. After that I went to Tap 42 for a round at the bar with AC for less than John Martin's. Then I found the dollar store next to the stage selling 9% Voodoo Ranger beer for $3.50!!!! Newly renovated, the new John Martin's has an open and New American pub feel. We went during a Dolphin's playoff game and it was quiet, but folks were cheering and hanging out at the bar. Their sandwiches are incredible. Cole slaw was refreshing, pastrami was crispy and tasty. Their seasoned steak fries are rich and flavorful. Agree with other reviews, Happy Hour specials are pretty much non-existent in a city with a ton of restaurants you need to up your game for Happy Hour. The staff is great, friendly, and attentive. The place was redesigned from its original "true Irish Bar" feel. Kinda still miss it a bit, but I've gotten used to it, it's nice and contemporary with touches of Irish flare. Came in to the newly renovated John Martins I'm Miracle Mile Corals Gable. What a nice surprise. The ambiance, Devore, etc. is excellent. This place is extra special as this is where I met my wife 25 years ago. We did not have a reservation and the hostess accommodate us and gave us a booth. Disappointing Brunch My husband and I went to John Martin's for brunch last Sunday afternoon. We were greeted and seated promptly. After waiting several minutes and watching servers pass us over and over without any acknowledgement, we finally waved someone down to ask if we were supposed to order at the bar (we were seated at a high top in the bar area). At that point our server finally came over and took our drink order...after waiting quite a while, I finally received my soda and then awhile after that my husband got his beer. We then had to wait again to give our food orders. We had been looking forward to ordering the bottomless brunch, but with the slow service it was evident we wouldn't get our money's worth of mimosas in 2 hours. Instead, I opted to just order one glass of prosecco with my food. We watched as our waitress and another server poured several glasses of prosecco that were evidently going to another table. At that point our waitress came over and gave me a half glass of prosecco (maybe 3 oz). At first I was confused, and when I realized she intended that to be my $9 glass of prosecco, I called her back over and questioned her about the small pour. She initially tried to tell us that was a full glass till my husband indicated that all the other glasses they had on the tray over at the bar were twice as full. At this point she took my glass back to the bar and started pouring prosecco from full glasses that WERE MEANT FOR OTHER PEOPLE into my glass to try and make a "full" pour. My husband and I couldn't believe it...then our food came. I had the Dublin Hash and my husband had the fish and chips. Both were meh...my "sunny side up" eggs were overcooked till the yolk was hard and my husband's fish was soggy and mealy like it had been frozen. The best part of the meal were the French fries (chips). We had to flag our waitress down a few more times to get refills on water/soda and our check. Though the place was pretty busy, we noticed her several times just standing at the bar staring into space like she had nothing to do. After this experience we won't be coming back anytime soon. read more

Great place to watch sports live and have a pint or two with a diverse menu, I sat at the bar and had a soup, some potato canapés and the meat pot pie. All of which where stupendous by the way. They've been opened since November so is a new place to go to if you're in the coral gables area. Give it a try, little pricey specially the beer but it is the gables after all. read more

I love coming here with friends or on my own. The bartenders are very approachable. The food here has been great, they have a lot of options. They're nachos have been my favorite so far with the brisket. The mini pork osso bucco had amazing flavors. It's a great bar to hang out and watch games. Had the worst restaurant experience EVER. Up front, I was asked if I wanted to keep a tab or pay in advance! (There were only eight people in the restaurant.) That was #1. On the menu for a hamburger, it showed that it came with "pork belly" (bacon) which I said to exclude. When it finally arrived (almost an hour later!), there was the bacon and, on the check, it noted "add bacon - $1.50! The waitress virtually disappeared for most of the time I was there. (Maybe she was cooking, too.) Could not wait to get out of there and will never go back. P. S. Pastrami sandwich had 3 slices of pastrami. Dinner salad was a little bigger than a side salad, soup ordered extra hot came extra cold, I asked the waiter about the size of the Guinness... he said 2 options.. an Irish pint and a regular pint... I got the regular pint and it was 13 oz not a pint and they poured it without a stop (not to Guinness standards) so it came out to about 10 oz after it settled. The new atmosphere looks like every other boring place on the street and not like a proper pub.. service was ok but had to hunt him down several times. never again. read more

I was really excited to try John Martin's after remodel. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. The food is delicious. However the service is absolutely terrible. We ordered several items on the menu. The waiter never wrote anything down. Several of our items never arrived and the soup came out room temperature. We basically had to beg for water when our cups were empty. The manager came over to apologize and offered to give us a free dessert. We waited around for 20 minutes and the dessert still hadn't arrived. We had to flag down our waiter and just ask for the check because we were tired of waiting. As we were paying the dessert showed up. I actually did it even end up eating it because it was unflavorful. I left hungry and upset. read more

Was so excited to see John Martin back. They fully renovated the place inside and out. Even though it's nice I wish they would have kept a little of the old charm of an Irish pub/restaurant. It feels like a theme restaurant at a theme park now. Pretty loud inside hard to have a conversation while dining. Food was good. We had meatball and grits app, fish and chips and shepherds pie. Drinks were ok. Their happy hour old fashioned is watered down with coconut and chocolate flavorings. Manager came by and we gave feedback on drinks. He said don't worry you'll feel it later. We didn't. Wait staff was attentive but we felt a bit rushed. Overall a god place to go, but miss the old John Martins. read more
