Walking by in the city in search of a light bite, saw John Sullivan's and that it had 4 stars. A little dark inside, but lots of tvs. Bartender had a lovely Irish accent, and took our order. The mango fizz was good, though not very mango-ey, and not fizzy at all. Food arrived quickly. How this place has 4 stars is beyond me as they were either much better pre covid or I just got the worst meal they served. I was happy they were open with outdoor seating as not many options in midtown versus the upper west side. I got a burger and frozen margarita. Burger was supposed to be medium but was beyond well done. The patty was maybe 2/3 size of bun and tasteless. Frozen margarita was made with bad tequila and sour mix and only half frozen. Fries were decent and do have nice tent with chairs. Gave them 2nd star for that. Maybe if stuck to straight liquor or beer this place is fine. read more

Server was pleasant and efficient. I'm a fish and chips fan, and that's why we came here. Fish was mushy and barely hot. Not crispy at all. The chips were no different from the French fries served all over town. 3 pieces likely frozen from the restaurant supplier. One piece was inedible. It appeared to still have a strip of fish bones on the back of it. When I cut into it and the breading fell off, I thankfully decided to leave it. So, 2 pieces of pre-frozen fish for $22 was not a bargain in my book. Even without the bad piece, the dish was entirely unremarkable. And now the best part, the music was LOUD. Every seat was taken (that's good) and people sitting near each other were shouting to be understood by the person right next to them. It was the dinner hour, so it seems to me the booming music would be best saved for the late-night crowd. read more

Overall, disappointing. Wife got the fish and chips. Fish was actually done well, but the "chips" were nothing but frozen, crinkle fries from a bag. I got the lobster roll. It was more bread, and onions, than lobster. The fries were going to be extra, but waitress gave them to me for free. Thank you! Daughter got the bangers and mash. The bangers were glorified breakfast sausages, and weren't much bigger than a breakfast sausage either. At least my Guinness didn't disappoint! read more

I love this place! The building is cool and it is a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. If you are looking for a good old classic bar this is it. Stopped by randomly trying to find a good bar before heading back home.. they just so happened to be showing the UFC FIGHT my friend wanted to see so kudos to that. Went hear for a quick lunch before a show that was near by. They have a $10 special lunch which includes a choice of sandwiches that include a choice of soup, fries or salad. I got two chicken tacos with salad and my friend got a corn beef sandwich with soup. Good food at a great price especially for the city.! I would definitely come back. read more

A group of 9 of us stopped in at random since it was on the way back to our hotel to grab a last drink for the night, found nice spot upstairs. Tonight was the Masvidal-Diaz fight (which none of us follow UFC but will watch if it's on lol) and it was playing on every TV, downstairs at the main bar they had the sound on, upstairs they had most of the TVs subtitled. Which I thought was nice, you could choose which vibe you preferred. Upstairs bartender was nice and drinks were great, and definitely reasonably priced for the area. I have tried to make this my local after work spot for a while now... I love the fact that they have items identified as Gluten Free. There is just a complete difference between the customer service of upstairs vs downstairs. No matter how hard we try, the bartenders and servers upstairs are just not as friendly. You would think that would be the case and it is usually calmer upstairs! Now We don't stay if we can't find a seat downstairs! Stumbled in here on a busy Saturday night and was happy to be able to get a table. The atmosphere is cozy and its just the perfect spot to hunker down on a cool night with a drink and some comfort food. The menu had a lot of pub offerings but I really wanted a burger. The burger was cooked to order and had a generous portion of fries with it. The fries were perfect - crispy and delicious. I added sauteed mushrooms and they were cooked well but lacked flavor. Could have used some garlic and salt or something. The whole burger was pretty bland. But it was nothing a little onion and ketchup couldn't fix. The quality was great for sure. Went yesterday for lunch, Food was really good, service prompt. When the forgot the beets on my golden beet salad it was corrected very quickly. The turkey sandwich in the $10 lunch menu is reason enough to come back-so good. There was a group of 6-8 30 Something year olds getting the day drinking on and they were LOUD. Thought it'd be cool since I can't get to my usual Irish pub,Dalton's. 2 things I look for when trying a new place: a welcoming environment and quality service. I got neither. Came here a few weeks ago, after work. Wanted to try this place out because it just opened near my office. It's pretty average I say. It's nice cause it's new and clean. The food is eh. Had better. The drinks were good. The first waitress was nice, but all of the sudden, she left. So I'm assuming her shift ended, but didn't bother to tell us that "oh, my shift ended and so and so is going to be taking care of you instead" or something like that. But it's a bar so I shouldn't really complaining about it too much. (But the question is who do I tip? or do they have a pool of money that they split afterwards). In any case, I actually come here to try the wellington but it's not on their main menu. It was on their sign and we forgot to ask for food specials (but we heard the drink specials) So instead, I ordered shepherds pie and Canadian poutine. Well obviously, I wasn't expecting for authentic poutine. It was okay. It was fries and gravy. The sheperds pie was also okay. Kind of bland I think. Overall, it's okay. Went there tonight for the first time. We were seated right away and didn't have to wait long for our waiter to take our order. The waiter was nice and provided excellent service throughout our time there. I ordered bangers and mash, which is Irish sausage with whipped potatoes and baked beans, and it was delicious.
