As locals we usually skip places like Johnny Rockets and other franchise restaurants, but we decided to give it a try. Upon entering the building there is a sign "Please wait to be seated"... we did just that. However no one ever came out to seat us, we looked into the dining area and the sports lounge area and went back to wait, still no one. Finally we walked into the sports lounge, only three other tables of people yet it looked like almost every table had something smeared all over them - some ketchup on this table, some grease over here, even though they were set with silverware and menus. Still no one payed any attention to us and we were not greeted by either waitress. We then walked back into the other dining area and asked a waitress for a table. She looked as if we were bothering her, huffed and then walked us back into the dirty sports lounge. I ended up just getting a orange soda float and my guest got a burger which he enjoyed. I did not see much on the menu that appealed to me. Food was okay, but I will not be coming back any time soon. There are much better options in the area. For a fast food place I was impressed!!! I expected very little but my burger was perfectly cooked, the bun was really soft and the lettuce was crisp. They were generous with the bacon and cheese. And the French fries are made from whole potatoes. The milk shake was great If you want fast (it was actually slow) food than this place is great!!!!! Don't expect gourmet meals. read more

The worst place I've ever been to. Service from start to finish was horrible. Food was somewhat okay. Paid for a meal for 2, & immediately after finishing our food we were continuously asked to leave our table. When we said no (as we had paid to be here) we were met with a guilt trip, rolling eyes, and heavy sighs. I'd understand if we had been there for a long time already, but we had not even been there for more than 20-25 minutes at this point. It's a thing from my childhood. Always loved them as I grew up they disappeared from menus. A good patty melt has a good rye bread, hamburger patty, cheese, onions, sour pickle (mustard and ketchup) The melt here was ok. Not out of this world, but it was good. The waitress/bartender was an incredible help, super friendly and very professional. Wish I could remember her name. The food was good, not great. Nothing especially remarkable about it, except that the bbq sauce was exceptional! The milkshakes were just okay. You get much better shakes from Chick-Fil-A or Arby's (before they changed the recipe). Location was awesome and came very handy after a long, leisurely drive. We were lucky to get on the road just minutes before a big rain storm. Took an hour just to get drinks the waiter said he was side tracked but we could see him cleaning and attempting to close up. Food took over an hour and wasn't what we asked for then when trying to ask the waiter about the wrong order he said it was our fault and ordered it wrong. As a chain restaurant there is a certain expectation and known ambiance that should be met with each visit and location of Johnny Rockets. It wasn't a bad experience but definitely below expectations. Our waitress was fairly nice and brought our food out promptly, however when i asked for crispy chicken on my salad i instead got cold grilled chicken that did not have a fresh taste to it. It tasted bland and possibly undercooked. I assume it came out of a frozen package. The marinara sauce for the mozzarella sticks "sucked" from what i heard my family say, but i did not try it myself. They were open on Christmas Day, so that's why we went. Last time I had eaten at one was in a mall in TN back in the '90s. I agree with the reviewer below; this location was very clean, not very noisy. You get what you see. It is a diner style burger place with shakes. I made the mistake of getting chili cheese fries, which although were delicious, wreaked havoc on my body. Burger was pretty good. Pass on the chicken club sandwich. Good root beer. Food is standard like any Johnny Rockets. The issue with this location is the "Sports Lounge". Also, they have inconsistent hours, are usually understaffed, and no one knows how to work the TV's. This restaurant is located within the Great Escape Lodge/Waterpark but has its own entryway from the parking lot. The food was very good, good portions, place is clean, and service was good. We got standard burger, blt, two kids meals. Drinks refilled promptly, food hot when it came out. All around a good experience and super convenient if you are staying at the Lodge. read more

Johnny Rockets is located within the Great Escape Lodge, and across the street from the theme park. It is open year round, and offers two distinct dining rooms, the classic old school diner feel, and the more typical sports bar lounge. Pretty much every time we have been, we are left standing in the waiting area for a bit too long without being acknowledged at all, until someone walks by and acts surprised that they have customers waiting at all. The service has been a bit hit or miss, but most times it is very good. I've tried the burgers, the philly cheese steak, the tuna melt, wings, and of course the shakes. I find the food to be very tasty, perhaps a bit small portioned, but they have a unlimited fries policy, so you won't leave hungry. read more

It has been a while since last visiting a Johnny Rockets. We use to go to the one at the Burlington Mall in Burlington Mass. That one was GREAT. Crispy fries, fresh made onion rings and a very juicy burger. On our way home today from dropping our daughter off as school, we decided to stop in to the JR's in Glenn Falls. I must say what an extremely disappointing experience. Burger was overcooked and drowning in sauce, bun was not fresh. The fries were soggy and the onion rings were from a bag. My wife ordered a chocolate shake and they served it to her in a to go cup. Just terrible. I sure hope this was not indicative of the current quality of the chain/franchise. read more

We have visited JR in the CT casino and a mall in Milford CT and the food was excellent. The JR at the Great Escape Lodge served food that just did not come close to the other JR's. Here we found a long wait for food, burgers warm, flooded with sauce, fries warm, tables in need of busing, employees standing around chatting, restrooms messy and no towels. This was a bizarre experience. My husband and I took our 4 teens last week. We waited maybe 15 min for a seat, no big deal.. even though there were empty tables, and counter was free. It will come out when it's ready. Understood?" We all looked at each other, but we were very kind and said ok. At this time we look over the menu. Had to wait 5min to flag down our waitress, and it was another 20 before it was brought to the table. My burger was 1/2 the size of what either of my sons got, and our water was never refilled until we were ready to leave. A trip to the bathroom revealed what I have only seen in roadside gas stations - paper strewn everywhere, TP rolls on the floor, toilets were dirty. I had the worst experience this past Friday night. I went with my wife and kids and arrived at about 8:15pm. Noone was attending the hostess station. We stood at the please wait to be seated sign for about 10 minutes before someone finally came out to tell us it'll be 10 to 15 minutes. When they finally seated us, they gave us the smallest table saying it was the only table available. Looking around I see two both in the same room that were empty. We sit for a out 10 minutes before someone comes to help us and take our order. You could say they were busy and short staffed but there were three young ladies just standing buy the ice cream machine the whole time not helping customers or cleaning the dining room up which was disgusting. At least four tables covered in dirty dishes. We ordered three shakes, a soda, one order of fries, and one meal. By now, two other families arrive and are seated. The server brought my wife her soda. We wait... The other two families both order and receive their food. We finally get our food. No shakes. The server brings us 1 chocolate and 1 strawberry shake. We didn't order a strawberry shake. The server then brings 1 more chocolate shake and 1 oreo shake. The chocolate shake was white. The oreo shake had a couple crumbled cookies in the top then was just vanilla. At this point I was exhausted and this was possibly the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant ever. read more

Wow! The issue with this Johnny Rockets is the same as the hotel. It appears that the entirety of the wait staff in both Rockets and the hotel is comprised of teenagers. In it of itself this would not be an issue; however, there appears to be no management, or at least very weak management, giving them instructions and building their staff. This isn't the prefab crap I thought it would be. It is a high quality restaurant with great service. When it comes to food they have what must be the second juiciest/tastiest chicken burger I've ever had with the bun being very tasty too and at something below 400 calories it should be illegal. If you want fries the sweet potato ones are the way to go and are battered to perfection. the wait was short but this could be due to the low amount of customers at the time. It isn't perfect though. Some of my regular French fries were a little cold. My chocolate chip cookie milkshake featured what looked like a chips ahoy cookie on top but was still very tasty and worth it never the less. read more
