You get a lot of average-quality food at a decent price. We arrived during the week in the middle of 4-5 buses filled with tourists and had to fight our way through the crowd. Some things ran out quickly (plates, forks) and some food was low at times. But we managed. This place had a lot of options from different cuisines (tacos; Asian bourbon chicken; pot roast; breaded fish; chicken sandwiches; etc.) but none wowed me. Even the desserts, of which there were many choices, were just okay. Even the red Jello, one of my favorite things since I was a little kid (don't judge) had a terrible after-taste. They seemingly make a lot of the food in house, so either their recipes are bad (they were loaded with salt- no doubt to fill you up quicker) or sitting on a hot station ruined the texture and flavor of the food. The highlight for me was their yeasty butter rolls, especially with their chicken sandwiched between them. Sadly, by the time I found out about them they were literally on the last pan of the day. How is that possible for a lunch buffet at 1:15 in the afternoon? I miss good quality American buffets. Nowadays, you generally only find Chinese/Asian and Indian/Asian buffets. (I guess some places due brunch buffets, which doesn't quite check the same boxes). Will I be back? They are literally the only American buffet within a hour of my house so I am sure I will eventually get desperate and drive up here. But it won't be soon. read more

Lunch at the Golden Corral was terrible !!! The worst !!! It was worse than hospital cafeteria food !!! Let's start with the " popcorn shrimp " it was more like popcorn krill It was super tiny . The Mexican section tasted like dog food , the fish was soggy, the stuffing was worse than stovetop, the beef tips were fatty and tough, the biscuits were dry, the pizza was worse than frozen, the dessert was cheap and tasteless much like the ice cream which was more like ice milk . When I got there all food was cold and the yeast rolls were hard and cold. Rolls never got restocked horrible attention on food. Once rolls can were out they weren't stocked back up again. read more

I never saw her once we got our drinks, except for when I flagged her down for a refill. She rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed. (I don't believe she was talking about us but it's unprofessional as a former server.) and AS a former server I couldn't leave her nothing but I left her $2 which she didn't deserve. Took my wife there recently for a cheap little date night. Where do I even begin? First off, "cheap" is the last word that I'd used to describe this experience. Crazy overpriced for a low quality buffet. The food was bland and dried out - some of it looked like it had been sitting around for hours. The staff was entirely checked out. Our waitress Michelle was pretty lazy - only thing she really had to do was bring us drinks and occasionally clear the table but that was apparently too much effort. Most of our interactions were her complaining about other customers, or being "friendly" to me in a way my wife was less than happy with. I've been here many times and it's usually hit or miss, but our visit this weekend was really quite good. Food was hot and fresh and seemed to be replenished regularly. Food quality was good, everything was tasty. I don't think I've ever seen them have chicken & dumplings, tomato cucumber salad, or vegetable rice casserole, and they were all good additions. Appreciate that they have Coke products instead of Pepsi. Recently renovated to be brighter, lighter colors. Plenty of searing. Friendly servers getting drink refills and promptly removing finished plates. I think dinner prices are a bit expensive but the lunch price was very reasonable and they have a good senior early bird price that includes a drink between 1-3pm. read more

This review is for dinner on 8/29/2024. There were 5 of us in the group. Short line-up, and we were seated immediately after we paid at the counter. I must say I am impressed with how good the food is for the price we pay. I'm especially talking about the steak--grilled to perfection. For $20 per person, I didn't expect much in terms of the quality of the meat, but it exceeded my expectations. They also have a pretty good selection of salad dressings. I went ahead and constructed a beet salad with blue cheese, craisins, sunflower seeds, and balsamic vinaigrette, paired with a perfectly rare ribeye steak. I also sampled other side dishes like pasta, potatoes, veggies, and creamed spinach among others. They all tasted great, but obviously, there's too much to try in just one visit. If you pace yourself and leave some room for dessert, you'll find that the blueberry pie and chocolate cheesecake are perfectly balanced--decadent without being too sweet. Today was my first visit ! Trip to New York from Maine. Looking to try different places we do not have ! I was pleasantly surprised! So much selection ! Quick turn over ! Busy place ! Waitress seats you , takes your plate gives refills . I went up twice. What a selection ! Ribs shrimp pot roast fried fish ! I tried OKRA for the first time ! Delish ! They even have a dessert bar ! Not sure you will have room ! I wish they had info posted for newbies . Didn't know the price until I waited in line and was at the cashier. But it was very reasonable ! My waitress was wonderful ! Id give it NEGATIVE 5 STARS. Last time i was here was pre-covid and my family and i used to love it. This place is sooooo bad now. Food was stale and just plain terrible!!! The fish was definitely frozen to death prior to cooking so it was water logged and tasteless. Its up To 20 bucks a person And not work 1.50. So anyway, after trying all the disgusting food, trying to give the place the benefit of the doubt, I walked over to the dessert section. The peach cobbler was cold and had a weird film over the top of it. The cheesecake look like a gelatinous mess, and the ice cream machine had gloves of ice cream just dripping down the sides. It was just plain gross. There was no labels to let you know what you were eating. I watched the girl open up a literal can from Cisco of chocolate pudding and dump it into container. To say I'm done with this place would be an absolute understatement. If you're looking for somewhere to eat, that's halfway decent. This is definitely not the place to go. And if you don't believe me, go to the section after reading this that says violations, 10 reported. Read the amount of inspections done by the state and how they have violated over 10 different times with things such as food prep sanitation., and proper washing, hands of employees, no signs in the bathroom from place to wash hands, and refrigerator is not cold enough. For $20 and huge variety of food that was decently made. I had to give it a 5 for its category of cheap buffets. The food was fresh and replenished constantly. The service was decent and clean. We came back twice during our stay. I highly recommend their fried chicken and prime rib. Their fully breads and amazing sides. Buffet out in lake george for some reason some of my family likes this place i think because it is affordable and ayce. But i am sorry even thought the prices are on the low i would rather eat somewhere with better quality food and less salt! It is decent and standard buffet with mostly american food but its a lot of heavy, fried or heavily salted food. The steak is hit or miss you can get what they consider a medium or medium rare piece. This is probably the best thing you can get if it comes out right. They had some fajita type food like shrimp or chicken with peppers, barely got to eat it because they never came out with more. Comfort food brings you to think about like thanksgiving food. They got a salad bar and desserts with a chocolate fountain and cotton candy. Vibes are super casual and most likely townies. We were here on a Sunday afternoon during a little trip to the Lake George area. I was excited to try this American chain and having seen ads on tv just the day before I got a good impression from the selection. Kids eat for just 99 cents, lunch and dinner varies from 10$ to 15$ depending on the day. Our weekend dinner was the most expensive but I'm assuming with the most selection. I was quite surprised at the options and quality food items, lots of homestyle american classics like fried chicken, mac and cheese or meat loaf, but you could also get steak (entire cut) or steak strips, many different types of chicken and fish and delicious tex-mex inspired or cajun shrimp. The new grill station is quite popular, I found that you certainly got your money's worth on meat alone. There's a big salad bar with all the fixing and a few desserts, like frozen yogourt, chocolate fountain, cakes, pies, cookies, fudge, brownies etc. I usually find desserts at buffets very average, but everything I sampled was actually delicious!! Cookies and cakes were hot and moist, the flavors were right and truly there was no wrong choice. My partner sampled a wide variety of everything and had the same consensus. Only bummer is that beverages are not included, it's almost 3$ extra for a drink, however you pay in advance like at a cantine, so save on tipping. The overall decor and seating remind me of a cafeteria, it's not a nice decor per say. I would recommend this for a lunch of a family get together as it's very cheap. read more

My family and I got here around 10am on a Sunday morning ..just in time for breakfast! We paid about $40+tax for the buffet and were seated right away. There were many empty tables and lots of parking spots available. The buffet offers several types of beverages including coffee and tea. The selection was great! I loved the omelet station and also got 4 waffles ordered here. You can customize the mini-waffles with strawberry and cool whip, etc. By 11, there was a change over with pork and other choices for a decent "brunch". The french toast and biscuits were also delicious! I also enjoyed the service. The waiter was great and attentive. The young lady at the omelet station was so friendly and helpful. I did not like how untidy certain area were however, due to the high volume i'm sure it's unavoidable. read more

Since this is a relatively new Golden Corral, I assumed it would be clean and well-organized. It is. Even though the salad bar was kept very well stocked, I believe it is not quite as large in size and variety of ingredients as the Golden Corral in Saratoga/Wilton. It has the usual assortment of hot items you would expect. And as you might also expect, if you can get to the steamed/cooked vegetables as soon as they are brought out, they will be pretty good, but they continue to cook in the warmer trays. As always you can make your trip to a Golden Corral as healthy or not as you want. One newer feature this Corral has is the Wok area. It featured a number of stir fries, as well as spring rolls which were very crisp and tasty. But the big surprise was just how good the Bourbon St. Chicken was. Besides their usual assortment of (too sweet for me) desserts (I usually just get fruit), they have a cotton candy machine (which I guess is becoming more common). This one appeared to be broken, because two employees were standing over it, and all it was producing was noise. But this was the first Corral in which I saw a case of hard ice cream as well as the usual soft-serv. They had 4 flavors: Butter Pecan, Strawberry, cookies & cream, ad rocky road. The catch? the opening was on the kitchen side of the case. You had to flag down an employees, hand that person a dish, and indicate how many scoops you wanted. This seems awfully counter-productive to the ability of the person staffing the dessert area to get more done. The parking lot is much larger than you might think when driving in along NY 254. When leaving, you are not allowed to make a left turn, only a right turn towards that wonderfully congested US 9/NY 254 intersection. read more

My first experience at any Golden Corral and let me tell you, much better than I expected. For $12, you get yourself a full buffet, a made to order steak (if you come for dinner) and an array of desserts, including fresh spun cotton candy and hard ice cream. You can't beat it for the price and for the most part, the food is pretty decent. You're at a cheap buffet, so you have to lower your standards a bit. You aren't going to get 5 Star dishes, but you will get food that you won't spit out and that you could get full on. Service was great and for the most part, the restaurant was clean. Of course a few dirty dishes, but you just pick another plate. Self-service for the most part, they will refill your drinks though, once you sit down. All in all, more of a 3.5 star, but I rounded up. Left here extremely full and pretty satisfied. read more
