My car needed some extra tubing for the way I wanted and the team knew exactly how I wanted. Our motorhome was being stored so we went to check it out & start it to make sure everything was good on it. My husband started it & it sounded like a diesel pusher, which it is not. The catalytic converter was sawed off & stolen. I started calling different mechanics & muffler shops to get estimates for replacing the cat & found Johnny's Muffler to be the best choice as far as price, turn around time & just plain old trust. Kim worked with me helping me with the whole process, including finding the tow company to tow it to their shop. Bought a car which had its catalytic converter stolen and the O2 sensor cut was expecting to pay an arm and a leg but was pleasantly surprised when the manager told me she would try to get me into a program that the referees had for high profile cars catalytic converter theft. She didn't have to tell me she could have just let me pay the full price for the ome converter which was about 2 to 3 thousand dollars instead it cost me about $1,800 out the door made the appointment to have it checked by the ref got the certificate and a new cat sticker and was good to go. I am not one to do reviews but had to for this place. I took my car in for a catalytic converter to be replaced and the tail pipe to be welded. They did a code read and looked at my car for no charge. The were unable to do the job but referred me to a great mechanic (San Joaquin Auto repair). He was clear that it would not be a cheap job (because catalytic converters are expensive) and was upfront about costs and showed me precisely what happened and to what. I should have listened when this shop was recommended to me. I bought a universal catalytic converter online, I checked with the ARB first to make sure it was legal for my vehicle. Before going to Johnny's I tried two other shops that were closer. Neither would install it, because neither of them knew the law! They only went by what their suppliers tell them! Without needing to schedule an appointment, I brought my car and my converter in to Johnny's. Put my car on his lift, talked abut my options for a couple of minutes, and then received a quote. Once we agreed, he got to work, and I took a quick walk down the street for some lunch. When I got back, things were just wrapping up. When he was done, he had me start my car back up, so we could both inspect his work. As I waited for my bill, I took a quick look around this beautiful and unique shop. On Friday, I called Johnny and asked if I could bring my car in on Sunday. He was very nice to talk to, and told me that he didn't work Sunday, but Monday morning between 8 and 8:15 he'd be at the shop. So, I showed up and the place was closed, so I drove around for a while and came back at 8:30. Still closed. Then I took a longer drive and came back at 9:25. Not open yet. I drove around the block the long way, and on my way home, I noticed it was open. So I drove in and told him I had come when he said to and nobody was here. He said he didn't remember the phone call, so okay, I said, when can you get to my car? He says we don't have waiting rooms and most people leave their car and go back to work. I had told him on the phone that I was retired, so that would have been the time to tell me that. Then he says there are 2 ahead of you now and it won't be until maybe 11. And then he asked me what was wrong with my car. Like I told you on the phone, Johnny, it's making a noise like a muscle car with no muffler and the check engine light is on. He says, I might be able to get to it at 11 and gave me his business card. The other customers there were looking at their shoes. I think they were embarrassed for him. I just came from A to Z Muffler where they fixed the problem in 20 minutes and didn't charge me a dime. Big difference, huh? read more
