My birthday breakfast- attempted to get here last year but despite it being the off season- perhaps many folks taking advantage of lower rates and the same views. This visit - signs up that cash only- no credit cards. Dated decor, greasy spoon feel, weird tasting water and wasn't able to eat my breakfast. All tasted the same. Bleccck. Seems to be a popular spot for the locals and autographed photos of various celebrities line the walls. Eclectic menu boasting various items from A-Z. No parking lot- street parking if you can find. Sadly- just a "meh" revue.

We came in to grab a bite on Saturday around 1pm. We were seated right away and provided menus. The place was clean. There were only a few people in the restaurant. We had water to drink. My friend ordered the breakfast combo and was allowed to substitute bacon for sausage patties. I ordered the special California BLT sandwich. It came out in a decent amount of time. The staff were preparing to close but chatting loudly by the bar which was distracting. I enjoyed the BLT it was flavorful. My friend enjoyed her breakfast and the pancakes were fluffy. Thankfully we had cash. Not sure if I would return as the food seemed basic for the price but it was affordable considering the area.

This is a very strong breakfast option in downtown Montauk. Service is quick, coffee is REAL GOOD, and the pancakes are legit. I wasn't too happy about the bathroom situation. There is one small bathroom in the back that isn't well kept at all. Cash only, but there is an ATM.

Crepes doused in sugar and corn syrup filling.

Perfect Place if you're wanting to start your day off on the wrong foot. Beginning with the food. I opted for the crepes after tasting the artificial corn syrup that is passed off as maple syrup. The crepes were served with an unhealthy dusting of powdered sugar. More corn syrup in the filling. I was only willing and able to eat half of one crepe. The server never returned to check. Four servers were too busy on their phones and chatting behind the counter. The two other ls I was with ate some of their food. After waiting for a return we had to wave down another server for our check. Looking at my plate I was offered a box. I explained that I was unable to eat the food due to the amount of sugar. I was offered to order something else, no thank you after spending 30 minutes in a place that had four tables inside and one outside. As someone who works in the industry I suggested to the server that she might consider checking back on her tables.

The food was so good I forgot to take a picture of it, but it was delicious! The burgers were excellent!

This place is a classic for a reason. The restaurant is no frills but we were seated right away and our food came out very quickly. We got an omelette, cannoli pancakes and chocolate chip pancakes. The eggs and potatoes were good. Pretty standard. The cannoli pancakes were beautiful and fun. A little too sweet for me but still delicious. Would definitely come back!

Everyone knows to stop into Johns when in Montauk for breakfast. It could be an hour wait in July on a weekend morning or a fast table midweek or off season. Mr. Johns Pancake House is centrally located on Main Street in Montauk Village. Benches outside make it easy to wait if need be. But for now in January no need to wait! Cooks deliver your order super fast even though a good number of people this Sunday morning. They are the fastest most professional at serving up eggs and pancakes. They list themselves now on their menu as a pancake and steakhouse (likely by night)but I doubt anyone is looking for that in a breakfast place atmosphere. But who knows. Alert: NO BOOTH for 2 warning. I've eaten at booths here for decades.. but now... Booths all remained empty as paranoid hosts feared groups of 3 or more would need them. So couples were all at lined up tables.. saving the booths for the crowds which never got to use any of them during our visit. Weirdos. Lol But all in all the quality is up and as always I'll happily be back.

I am so sad to see that this place has so many negative reviews. I was here in off-season and seriously had the best time. Helen, the hostess was so sweet and one of the kindest souls. Food came out quick and was tasty. My friend got the banana pancakes and I had a few bites because they were so yummy! It's your typical small town breakfast with loyal charm.

Truly, the cocktails and menu at this restaurant are so inventive and flavor packed it feels as if there has to be something supernatural happening in the kitchen and behind the bar. We came here in early May and sat at the bar. Dillon took great care of us, walked us through the menu and made stellar recommendations all around. After having my mind blown by the Everything Bagel Martini, we moved on to share the charred octopus and Leggy's Thighs. The charred octopus was tender, and paired so well with the citrus fruits on this plate, plus the bite of pistachios?! So well put together. Leggy's thighs (RIP Leggy) were literally the best chicken I'd ever had, fall off the bone tender and topped off with flavorful furikake and hot pickled fresno chilis. We also split the Wagyu sando which I'm literally still thinking about. Wagyu on milkbread?! What an excellent idea. Live acoustic music was going on the night we were here which really added to the cozy ambiance. They also have trivia here on Thursdays (Dillon, if you're reading this, we hope your team wins the championship). 10/10 no notes. Come here if you can get a table.

I don't really care for grapefruit or gin but I found this combination extremely refreshing. I would definitely purchase it for myself. It would be one of my favorite beverages. I was very excited with this event because it was a plus1 and in Montauk so I was able to bring Mrs. M. and expose her to the Yelp World. Upon arrival our Host Nadia greeted us and explained what was entailed with this event. They also had snacks for us to go with our drinks. Breakers itself, one of the many resorts in Montauk was small but inviting. There was a pool by the bar with seating and a small restaurant upstairs with an adequate menu. All the staff was polite, efficient and accommodating. The atmosphere of Breakers contributed to a very nice afternoon having the Long Drink and snacks and speaking with other gusts. I'm sure there are numerous summer hot spots in the Hamptons that one can lay out at but here the staff was super sweet and ultra attentive. Parking can be slightly challenging because all spots are not overtly clear. Once you finally maneuver into a spot and park up the lounge-ability, drink-ability, and vitamin D factor is totally abundant. Not a large space but comfortable with separate pool, bar and patio areas. It would be nice if it was adult only, but kiddies are allowed too. Just A Note: Lyft is now servicing the Hamptons and Breakers Montauk is only a short Lyft from the LIRR Montauk stop.

Now we don't venture all the way to Amagansett often, but we like to head out to Montauk once a year, and social media presented a cute coffee shop to stop at on the way, Bonfire. Cute could definitely be the word, especially the exterior of the place with some shaded seats on their deck and the small grassy courtyard that encompassed them and the neighboring storefronts. The vibes worked, though many other factors were more iffy. I'll try to focus on the other good options in that the menu of Bonfire is intriguing from their coffee and food options as well as gelato. I'll also say the staff, despite a small snafu (more on that in a sec), were able to take orders and keep things going. I'll even say that on first sip of my coffee I was wowed, but that's just what you see on the surface level. Underneath those positives was a pricier coffee spot with my wife's blueberry whip latte coming in at $11. Between that, a chocolate croissant, and my own latte we spent $27 which is a little much for what we got. Yes, eastern Long Island can be pricy, but dang. As for my aforementioned coffee, I got the Bonfire Latte which combined vanilla, hazelnut, and cardamom flavors to create what started as a truly delicious taste, but after a few sips once the flavor punch wore off, I would've at least expected a coffee kick in there. Honestly, there wasn't much. The real sign this was true was my wife who prefers a little more sweetness than coffee taste in her drinks saying that she couldn't taste any coffee in hers either. Oh and that croissant while soft and flaky, definitely felt like the chocolate could've been a little more melted in to it as I pulled out a whole piece when trying to tear it for my wife. One last item about the croissant was the fact that we ordered it and no one gave it to us. Our coffees came out relatively quickly despite the place being somewhat busy, but we stood and watched a few people who ordered after us get their stuff before I had to ask about the croissant which seemed to have been forgotten about. Oy. Overall, Bonfire Coffeehouse presents itself as a lovely eastern location to get some morning brews and then some, but perhaps it's not as fantastic as the facade it showcases. I'd like to try them one more time in the future, but that'll be a long time off (probably not til next summer) and that's if I feel like it's worth the price and I'm willing to believe the lack of coffee flavor was a fluke. Head out on the south fork and you be the judge.
