I recently went to Joia beach for date night. Let me start off by saying, I highly recommended Joia beach restaurant located in Miami Beach. I recommended making reservations in advance, as the restaurant tends to be crowded, especially during peak hours. Overall, Joia beach seems to be a great choice for those looking to enjoy a delicious meal with an ocean view. The menu , offers a wide variety of seafood dishes including sushi rolls, ceviche, oysters, crab, fish, and lobster. They also offer vegetarian options such as salads and pasta dishes. Some recommended dishes include the Tuna Tartare, Lobster Rolls, and the Grilled Octopus(My Personal Favorite). Today, Saturday 02/13/21, I arrived at Joia Beach club for a 400PM reservation. Upon checking in, at 441PM, I apologized to the hostess for arriving late. I explained that my party of two were coming from South of Fifth and that there was a huge car pile up on Alton. Without even attempting to hear me out, the hostess stated that after 20 mins tables are given away. I apologized again and even said we would wait if need be. At first, she co fused me for a "Jason" even though I had told her upon check in that my name is "Andy" and now began saying that my name wasn't on her "paper list of reservations" I told her I placed the reservation by calling them directly at 300-400-7280 on Thursday, 02/11/21 @ 537PM (confirmed by my phones call log). She continued to "claim" that my name wasn't on her list and that I should've asked for the name of who I spoke with when I made the reservation. So I wasted 40 minutes from my residence on South of Fifth, valeted my car and was honest about my tardy to only be turned away. Staff needs better training and better interpersonal skills to address issues due to their lack of workmanship or communication. In response to the managers comment, I understand if you were booked in advance but I shouldn't have been told when I called that there was a 4PM slot available. And on top of that, why did the hostess advise me that I was late when I gave her my name upon check in and that my table was given up. So she must have seen my name on the reservation to advise me of my tardy or what was she looking at? read more

Don't believe the hype! As a local we all know we look for quality to reassure the value of our time and experience. There's nothing more disgraceful than poor hospitality. We booked this reservation one month in advance in honor of the supply and demand to visit this new venue. We all understand the stress of restrictions and time limits due to the Covid era in which we live, but there is nothing more appalling than a restaurant using this as an excuse to allow some people to relax and enjoy extended time while others are told the two hours is the maximum they can stay based upon their own discrepancy. I'll leave your imagination to determine what that may be ... we happen to be a group of international backgrounds and a full wealth spectrum, left subject to only having a few cocktails and appetizers , no entrees due to the time restrictions forced upon us while we watch others enjoy their full meals much longer and much more extended than ours. Ambience and quality of service is what brings people back to an establishment it's also the reputation of what you offer in our community. This establishment earned poor thumbs down, not only for their biased operation but also for poor management of how to resolve a situation. **I strongly suggest walking across the street to the Deck gardens for much more refined service, A better view, and higher quality of service. We came to Joai Beach hoping for a nice dinner by the water, but the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We ordered the truffle ravioli, lobster linguini, and seafood fettuccine -- all of which were just okay. Nothing memorable, especially given how overpriced everything was. The Paloma and Piña Colada were equally underwhelming -- more sugar than flavor. But the real issue wasn't the food -- it was the service and the shady behavior. When it came time to pay, our waiter actually tried to pocket part of the cash we gave him instead of applying it to the bill. This was after a 20% gratuity was already included, which made it even worse. When we brought it up to the manager, he brushed it off and claimed the waiter "probably thought it was his tip" because "people tip big in Miami." That explanation made no sense -- we explicitly said he was applying it to the bill, and tips are clearly given afterward, not assumed. The whole interaction left a really bad taste in our mouths. Between the mediocre food, overpriced menu, and dishonest service, I'd strongly recommend skipping this place. There are plenty of great restaurants in Miami -- Joai Beach isn't one of them. read more

Joia Beach is the perfect spot if you're looking for a mix of great vibes, music, and drinks in a stunning setting. I came here for one of their Saturday night events, and the energy was just right. The two DJs kept the crowd moving with an amazing set--definitely a highlight of the night. The drinks here are solid. If you're into cocktails, the Pure Joia is a must-try, and the fact that it's on their happy hour menu (Wed-Fri, 5-7 PM) for just $12 makes it even better. Service was also on point--friendly, fast, and attentive, which really adds to the experience. Now, about the food... it's just okay. Definitely not the main reason to come here, and the prices feel a bit steep for what you get. But then again, this is a beach club--you're really here for the ambiance. And that's where Joia Beach shines. It's an amazing place to unplug, sip on great drinks, vibe to good music, and soak in a Miami sunset with Edgewater's gorgeous waterfront in the background. I don't know how the management working here. When they getting reservations but they are closed, and even when you are calling them, because on google shows that they still closed. After call they are confirming your reservation, telling that they are open and you more than welcome to come. After arrival we found out that they are closed for the inspection and they don't know when they will be open. After that I called to the google number they have( the one I called before, and they said, they are open and ready to welcome our group at the place) and she is telling me on phone that she is not in the property and she doesn't know what happening at the property because she talked with a management fee hours ago. I can understand how people can work like this and still own the place. This is unacceptable and this way they will loose bunch of clients. read more

The ambiance was charming and welcoming. The restaurant has done a good job with the umbrellas and cozy seating arrangements. But it was just too hot. They had a very nice show and the saxophone guy was on point. We sat by the water and there was a coconut tree and all the flowers were falling on our table. Service at Joia was adequate, but not exceptional. While the staff members were polite, I felt that the attention to detail and personalized service were lacking. Beautiful beautiful location with a spectacular view.... this place has the potential to really be spectacular if done right! The service was terrible , our waiter rushed us to take our drink, appetizer, and main course order together After that we didn't see him until the end of the night. We had to flag anyone who would stop down. Appetizer hummus was brought with no pita and it sat there for 30 solid minutes until someone finally brought it. Main courses arrived at different times and the sides we ordered arrived after we finished the main course. As I said, if this place makes a genuine effort in expanding the menu and training their staff properly they have the potential to make it work otherwise it will be another a short lived instagram spot. The venue was set up perfectly for the occasion, creating an awesome atmosphere. Even with a bit of rain, everyone was still dancing and having a blast, which really speaks to how well the event was hosted. This looks like a great spot for a relaxed day of beach drinks with friends or a partner, and if they're ever hosting an event, I'd definitely recommend checking it out. What a beautiful piece of paradise! We came in on a double date tonight - finally was able to get a babysitter to watch my crazy kids. This was such a fun night for the books. Started with a couple cocktails at the bar: the paradise found and tropical mule. They did not disappoint! Great presentation, Great bartender! I was in from out of town with friends, hands down one of the most STUNNING locations I have ever seen. Cocktails and atmosphere were 10/10! What a beach view to watch while holding a pina colada in a coconut in your hand! Drea was amazing- she was so funny and kind- had a few cocktails one was better than the next. Been there first time last week, can mention really nice view and ambience. Pretty nice stuff working at this place. I tried some dishes from Lounge menu, can say it's really good and tasty especially truffle pizza.
