Took my mom here to get a basic gel mani and regular pedi. She had multiple technicians work on her because none of them seemed to have knowledge on basic pedicure techniques (shaping and cutting cuticles). They also talked shit about her the whole time not knowing that she is also Vietnamese. The worst part of this experience is my mom in tears because one of the male technicians had pushed her cuticles back that she bled a lot and now has a CHUNK OF HER SKIN VISIBLY GONE... He then proceeded to take nail glue to use it to stop the bleeding which is SO UNSANITARY! It gets worse, the owner was apologetic but defensive. I know it was an accident, but it was already a terrible experience that took and hour and a half JUST ON PEDI, barely getting to her mani. The owner blamed my mom for having thin skin/blood because the male tech was just pushing the cuticles back... but who even pushes it back this far and hard... I took a picture of the incident just as proof in case it gets infected. However, this caused the owner to get riled up and FORCEFULLY GRAB MY MOM'S ARM AS SHE WAS PULLING HER ARM AWAY BECAUSE SHE MAY HAVE FELT THREATENED THAT I TOOK A PIC SO SHE NEEDED ONE TOO. THAT IS ASSAULT. You cannot inflict unwanted physical contact with a customer especially when it was your technicians FAULT. I am very disappointed to see a nail salon that lives up to the stereotype and do not recommend coming here. All the nail technicians suddenly didn't have much shit to say after I started speaking their language. They just stood there like deers caught in headlights and let the owner defend their mistakes. I hope the owner won't attack me in the reply as this was our experience to review in hopes this salon can do better. * update in response to the owner's reply* If the nail techs didn't talk about the customer, I wouldn't have included it in my review. I'm pretty disappointed with the service. I've had gel x before and normally it takes around 1 - 1 1/2 hours to do because of all the hard work put into it. This took around 30 mins and none of the gel x fits around my nails. There's empty space on the side . All the places I've been to have normally gotten bigger sized gel x and size it down to fit my nails but these ones barely fit. It's already starting to lift . Cuticles weren't even cleaned up and under nails it's so dusty. Not even once was I directed to wash hands after she "cleaned " it. It was overbooked and she kept going back between me and another client who had same appointment time . I was happy at first but as I went outside I realized the design was sloppily done. Ok well it started with a bright idea as I stopped in at subway the other day and noticed this new nail salon with a sign out front "now 20% off" I went but then yelped to see the inside and reviews not bad it's was a toss up on the reviews. So I decide to hit the message on help for service and said normal turn around time 20 mins and went on 3 hrs. Thinking a fluke, I called in and made appt about 1pm for later that afternoon(4pm) to be exact. I walk in and JoJo the owner come and puts the pedi water on just how I like. This was the plus side of the entire experience. The soaking. The older lady Jennifer come over and started to take off polish after she handed me the menu for pedicure. She asked me 3 times and I said I want your $28 dollar package (see photo) and I thought because I said it 3 time to her and tried to confirm that she got it (maybe language barrier idk). But JOJo the owner comes over ya is the book out my hand and told her no and went in her language. Thinking she telling her the package well. I sit again and waiting g my turn to soak off my nails and she comes over and clips my nails off and talks about gelc and I need gelx. Well I told her I wanted dip powder after I soak off nails but I have no nails left as they are short to skin cause she was heavily pushing gelx on everyone who came in there. The girl next to me same thing. I told her no I wanted my nails with the dip but now I have to settle for short. So after nails dipped I had to ask about the side clean up and she files and places chicle oils on top and tells me "you wash and clean off at home". But I thought that is why I am paying you? Mine you when I called and asked for soak off and dip it was $45 dollars . After done it was $65 . I Venmo her the 65 and said no that was for hands only. I said what ? How much for feet $50 I said you told me $39 for pedicure with gel. She said you got collagen pkg didn't you ? I said no I ordered the $28 pkg and I know the gel it's 10 dollars more or $15 I believe. But still not $50. Definitely not worth $65 for work I could do myself all over my fingers. Oh and do t talk about the 20% off that is advertised she won't answer you she just sat there like I couldn't see her! And continued working. I should have not paid but I'm not that person. But I expect a refund. I will not send any persons her and I will tell from the top of my lungs to not go here! Reason being that you lied about the costs and your advertisement is fraudulent. And you did nothing to accommodate. Not even talk you just sat there quiet . So here you are photos with paint all over my fingers. My husbands words were "did your daughter paint your nails?" (She's 6) Should stick to the nail spot Glow Me nails a bit further from me but worth the communication and if I have a question they answer and they have bomb work. Look at their IG . This place is pushy upsell place with no shame cause the will take advantage of the quiet. I will pay to never use or see people like this again. I'm embarrassed to take off my socks and show people my pedicure. I walked in and a gentlemen took me in for a pedicure and started on my nails was literally cutting me trying to clean my cuticles and i kept twitching and saying ouch but he did not care. Apparently he doesn't know how to do a french tip and two other people who started after me got done before me and i still had no one to do my french tip. While i waited for over 30 minutes i noticed what a terrible job he did at cutting my nails (i have no idea why he even cut my nails let alone super short) my nails were crooked. Then another guy came to do my french tip and i ask him if he can FILE my nails to make my nails more even and he started on my cuticles again and made me bleed on so many toes and grabbed the nail clippers and clipped them shorter and still crooked! Then they used a file to file down the top of my nails and left literal scratches on my nails. The french tip is horrible and I'm so self conscious now. My feet actually hurt and I'm in so much pain... this is what i get for not going to my regular place. i wasn't even going to write a bad review until i had two different family members ask me why my toes are bleeding‍. Edit: I've provided pictures just in case anyone tries to say otherwise after sitting there for a little over an hour i just wanted to get out of there. The staff was well aware of hurting me considering i kept saying ouch and they sprayed disinfected spray on my foot over four times. The pedicure looks way worse worse in person, my nails are actually horribly scratched, and my toes actually hurt. Please talk to your staff on how to improve vs trying to shame someone for writing truthful review. I'll be going home and removing these waste of 90$ *update* I asked for them not to put polish on my toes due to the fact i was unhappy with the the quality of work. The lady doing my toes couldn't even cut my cuticles because acrylic was not properly laid. Not to mention you use MMA which is ILLEGAL. And i know because when i put my nails in acetone to remove them it was gummy and I'm a licensed cosmetologist so i know the difference in EMA and MMA. I came into the salon at 6:30pm and got a pedicure. It was amazing- a scrub, paraffin wax, hot stones, and a massage- my lady took her time with my pedicure and I felt especially pampered. Jojo personally did my nails and stayed late- we laughed a lot and I got hooked up with wine! There's a little bar there for complimentary wine btw. I have been going to the new owners for years now and followed them to this location. They are the absolute best. I've never had any issues with my nails. My acrylics last like 4-5 weeks and I'm very hard on my hands. My pedicures are always amazing as well. I always recommend Teddy and Jayden to anyone I know. By far the worst place I've ever come to. Unfortunately my nail lady isn't taking clients at the moment so I came here...what a horrible way to spend my Friday night. I asked very specifically for a basic pedicure and fill and for whatever reason they managed to mess up both of them then had the audacity to charge me $100 for a shitty fill and pedicure. On top of that, they cut me several times and failed to take off all of my previous gel nail polish. They failed to provide me with good customer service when I asked them for very specific colors and layout...even with a photo to go off of. Would never come here again. *notice in the owners response she fails to accept responsibility for BOTH nail techs cutting me, providing me with colors I DIDNT ask for (after multiple attempts of showing them the color that I wanted and not understanding) I chose ONE color for both my nails and feet, and yet the customer service continues to fail. I want to start off that I debated writing this review but as time went on, I couldn't bare with the fact that I paid so much for such a poor quality set. I went with this place because it had good ratings. However , I'm not sure if Gel X is their only specialty because I asked for acrylic, and it was done horribly. I paid 55$ for acrylic gel, and it was a waste of money. Look at the poor nail shape on the pinky , and you can see the nail polish was streaky. Also, look how bumpy the acrylic is. I called for a regular pedicure and gel manicure. The lady assisted my pedicure made me bleed by removing the ingrown toenail and this is the first time I went to a place that does this and I was in pain. I had to instruct her to use Alcohol with cotton to apply pressure from an infection. After cleaning she removed her old gloves and was going to use her bare hands to paint my toes and I had to tell her twice not touch me until she wore gloves and she didn't look happy. She didn't properly dry my feet and legs before applying the lotion and I told her that before she squeeze the lotion my skin and she just ignored me. Due to Covid - I would like to support local businesses that practice safe measures but this business does not. None of their staff wear gloves to when they work on your manicure. That's why decided to cancel on the manicure. I also had ask them to wipe down the seat and station with satirize wipes. Horrible experience and would give a zero if I could. I came to get my full set here, which I needed desperate of before Christmas. I love getting my nails done which I always do. The place I always go to was closed so my friends invited me here. It was all our first time here. Our appointment was at 6, we got there 20 mins early the lady said it was still too early so we didn't mind waiting but we didn't get helped out until 7-7:30. The workers were really nice but the work was terrible. I had came in with an old set so I wanted a new set. The guy that helped me out didn't take off my acrylics off right which I still had some acrylic on my real nails after he put on my nails. He kept cutting me when he was drilling my nails which hurt so bad. My nails look so chunky and thick and just the shape of them are so bad. My left ring finger nail is shorter than my right ring nail, the guy didn't even smooth them down they still looked really chunky. I had asked for skinny square and they look the opposite. Some of the shaping of my nails look so different some look coffin which I didn't ask for and some look really squared instead of skinny square. The gel polish looks chunky and not painted on right. The lady which I'm guessing the owner kept bragging about her salon being luxury and how they get so many customers and are really good at gel x but she didn't know what swarovski crystals were which was kind of shocking since most luxury nails spots have that and are one of the most expensive crystals luxury nail salons have and use. She also bragged how one of her nail techs was really good at nail polish painting and good at designs but the nails she did on my friend she didn't paint them right they were bubbles in the polish after drying. The chrome design my friend wanted, the lady kept messing up to where she took off the design 4 times and kept re doing it. I originally wanted full design with gems on it but I was already over it so I got simple pink polish with glitter polish on top and it still looks terrible. I paid $65 for a simple set that came out looking so bad and something that should of been $40. I always get design and gems and long nails and perfect shape for that price. The guy took almost 3 hours doing my set and I'm just really disappointed I really thought I was going to walk out with such good nails and so did my friends since the lady kept telling us not to worry and we will walk out happy. We were so excited to go here my friend and I. When it came time to do my nails they highly suggested using GelX. Which in my opinion the easy way out. They literally just put nail forms on my nails and painted them with gel polish. I cant believe the price and how they came out. I really hate doing this. I try to write only positive reviews on businesses but I would like my situation to be heard. I am 100% willing to pay for services. I called about 20 mins before arriving and asked for an appt and how much a gel pedicure would be. The lady over the phone told me it would be 32$. As I was getting my pedicure done the woman was very ruff on my feet and cut me & my toe started bleeding. She apologized & I said no problem. I told her that it hurt & to please avoid putting alcohol on it.... which she continued to do several times. As soon as she was finished she told me the total was 31$. I was confused... then she said 41$. And then repeated again "No 31$" As I'm getting my card out the workers are arguing back and forth between the price I guess. She told me 41$ because gel is 18$. & STILL OFFERED ME A DISCOUNT OF 20% ( response to comment*). Since it clearly states the 20% is valid until 12/31/20 (picture below) and owner commented the coupon expired yesterday... ok LIES. She said 28$ for a pedicure but 20% off so 41$! At this point I feel like I'm being ripped off. I see on another review that the total for gel pedicure was 33$. Overall, I am not happy and will never go back. I feel like I overpaid and got ripped off. I understand the circumstances that businesses are in due to the pandemic but that does not mean that prices should vary. I hate that I have to write this, especially at the expense of my toe. FYI TO OWNER*** If you work so hard for your business then you wouldn't ruin it with petty & rude comments. Can you believe these sloppy nails were going to be 36$ I'm glad I made them redo them! The owner/ manger rushed them she didn't even bother to wait to let the first coat dry. Where do I begin?! I hate to do this but I feel it is my duty to inform everyone what this place made my nails look like. It was a complete mess. Thick, bumpy uneven... I came in and asked for coffin shape full set mauve and glitter on alternating nails and a pedicure. Nothing special. I asked for some nail art letters and they didn't have it so no problem. My 2 daughters were just getting gel nail polish, specifically no manicure. They were also getting their eyebrows waxed. I'm a patient person and I respect a persons's time but I repeatedly asked to give a coffin shape. I showed the man with the tattooed eyebrows exactly what I was looking for. The acrylic was so bumpy and uneven, all my fingers were pointing a different direction, some nails were longer than others. I was so horrified I couldn't even look at them. I waited for him to be done with filing because I was telling myself it's going to get better. It never did. After intervening multiple times, I started to get frustrated. It felt like a lifetime that I was there because his acrylic job was so uneven from the beginning, it never was good enough. At one point I had another lady jump in to help file down his mess and make them look like human nails as opposed to werewolf claws. As I'm getting my "full set" my pedicure is getting done and I got burned by the hot rock massage. I flinched and she said "too hot?" Yes too hot please don't keep a hot rock in one place. Once I finally had it, I told the lady and the man I had to get out of there. I said just put the nail polish on please. I picked out my colors from the very beginning and of course they couldn't get that right either. The mauve color went on and they somehow switched a color and then painted red glitter! I told them that wasn't the color I asked for. You can hear them arguing between themselves in their native language. At this point I cancelled my daughter's eyebrow waxing because if this is how they work, they better not touch my daughter's faces. I've now been there for 2 1/2 hours! Jojo Nails you should be ashamed of yourself for allowing your employee to work on a customer paying top dollar. Your prices are outrageous for that work! They shouldn't be practicing on customers. My pedicure alone was $70! On top of that, you tried to charge me $33 for each of my daughters for a gel manicure when I specifically said out loud twice, only gel nail polish. I should've seen the signs when not a single soul came in through the door until the owner came in to collect $178 from me. What a waste of money! read more
