It's been twenty years since I visited and ate Jollibee's food. It was when they had their lone San Francisco store at the corner of 4th and Howard, right by the newly built Moscone Center. Well, having been frequenting another fast food chain at the Serramonte food court, I couldn't help but notice this new stand that replaced a Vietnamese pho place right at the south entrance to the food court. I grabbed a menu, brought it home, and studied it. The menu is not the same as I remember so I made a point for my recent visit to pick up a few things to bring home. There was a short line (two or three people ahead of me) but the wait was not very long. As I was the next in line, another staff member came out with a order tablet and took my order standing right next to me. I paid with my credit card and was given a printed receipt. As I walked away, I noticed about eight or nine people hovering by the entrance waiting for their food so I went back to my friend's and my table just outside and dug into my Chinese food meal. Peeking over every few minutes, I kept an eye for the person who just ordered before me and noticed everyone else that was there previously was gone. About eight to ten minutes later, I walked up to the pick up counter and, lo and behold, the young lady called my number. In the Chickenjoy Perfect Pairs section, I ordered the 1 pc Chickenjoy w/ Jolly spaghetti and soda meal (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=WQOUepl0Jdc5fkM2o3xl0w&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) which I had for dinner that evening. I love spaghetti, pretty much any and all versions except for that version from Jollibee 1.0 from twenty years ago (hence the gap time). The fried chicken drumstick was nicely seasoned, not overly salty, and still crispy even six hours later. The spaghetti actually was pretty good though still on the sweet side for my palate. I enjoyed that there were sliced franks (spaghetti and franks is a combo that works) and cheese curds or pieces to break the monotony of the sweetness. I would have the chicken again and would eat the spaghetti but likely not on a regular basis. All I needed was to fry an egg and some Red Devil hot sauce and I'd be good to go. This, I will have again. Also, I read that their parent company also recently bought out one of my favorite upscale dim sum places in Honolulu, the touted Tim Ho Wan based out of HK. Fingers crossed that there won't be any quality drop off from this. Back to this experience, I will be back to have the chicken again, trying other chicken parts (breast, thigh, etc.). I will likely get that burger meal again and might given their chicken sandwiches a whirl. The menu certainly is more interesting than I remember in those Moscone days. read more

We tried to order two anniversary special items for $25.00 each, the 12 piece bucket & the three sandwich combo. The app gave a promotional 2 free drinks. Since I was at the serramonte location, I placed the same order and was denied. The cashier wasn't trained to take my $50 and honored the promo. I had to sit my ass down and try to order everything via the app & received an error message four times in a row. So I brought my cell and asked for the manager to enter my order. She was baffled and asked for backup and still couldn't place the order. I asked the manager to honor my order and she said "NO" & I had to use the app. She and her staff couldn't get the mobile order and yet wouldn't allow me the two free items. My kids ate most of it but we had 4 left over. I'm not a fan of jollibee. I tried it at tanforan and the food was underwhelming. Well why am I writing this review? It's because the staff didn't know how to direct the customers in line. I came today at noon. I tried to enter food court from the outside but I noticed there was a long ass line on the door marked "entrance." Instead of trying to squeeze into the door and the line of humanity I entered through the exit door. Seriously the pandemic is still going on. How is it ok for people to block the entrance and then stand in line so close together for fear of someone cutting? Staff should rework the line. I blame the store and serramonte management. Obviously, it's still fast food, but considering that, it's compares well to any other spot. However, there are only a few tables inside the actual storefront, and the staff does not let you take the tray out to the main dining area. Consequently, to-go is more ideal.
