I really enjoyed Jollibee! Tried it for the first time and instantly fell for their spicy fried chicken, spaghetti, peach mango pie, and halo-halo. The chicken was flavorful, crunchy, and juicy! So good! I had doubts for the spaghetti because I heard it was sweet. First bite was decent but subsequent bites made me appreciate it a little bit more! I really enjoyed the sweet, tangy sauce, the very al dente spaghetti noodles, and the tasteless rubbery hot dog. It was surprisingly addictive haha. For dessert, the peach mango pie and halo halo were both outstanding. Loved the crispy, flaky, greasy pie crust the most. Highly recommend trying jollibee! However, I have always avoided this place maybe due to the fear that all the hype might have given me an unrealistic expectation. If you haven't had Jollibees before it's Filipino fast food. They specialize in fried chicken and have a few Filipino dishes like palabok and filipino spaghetti. I've been to many locations in the US and Philippines and had some good experiences and not so good. This location was pretty clean and I received my food pretty quick as well. As far as what to get, I always go for the 2 piece fried chicken with palabok. Some locations have halo halo for dessert. Also tried the adobo fried rice The first time (white rice also available). The pictures of the food doesn't really do it justice. It was quite busy with the parking lot but cleared out once we left. There are plenty of options for family meals and the staff were all nice. Overall a great place to visit before heading to the beach. My only negative is the bathroom. Gosh I don't usually review chain restaurants but I hadn't been to Jollibee in forever cause I didn't remember it being very memorable the last time I tried it. Granted it was in another city and wasn't this location, but I didn't remember it being any good so I've avoided it since. Welp, the boyfriend recently drove through and ordered the chicken sandwich and swears by it. So he decided to take me one day and convinced me to try it. We ordered a bucket of spicy chicken and a chicken sandwich - for some reason it took 10 mins for the sandwich and we had to pull over to wait. They give you a number to place on top of your car and they bring out your food when it's ready. The server was super nice for a fast food joint and brought our food out. The chicken sandwich was pretty tasty - juicy, hot, fresh and crispy. I have to say, they give Chik-fil-A a run for their money! The spicy chicken pieces were crispy, juicy and delicious. Can't say anything bad about it. Now I wouldn't compare it to Popeye's but it came close! It was hot and fresh, though spicy wasn't very spicy. It also came with a side of gravy for dipping. Hate to admit it but the bf was right! I definitely wouldn't mind coming back when the chicken cravings come back! Plus side, next time I can order some pies or halo halo! This was our first occasion to ever have Jollibee fare. We got this month's special 10-piece combo with three sides. Half a chicken with spicy and half was regular. To that we got Filipino rice, mashed potatoes with gravy and for the third side we got white rice. She was surprised that came with its own cup of gravy. Over all my kids found it to be less greasy then competitors' fried Chicken. However the spicy variety was barely spicy at all. I really like the gravy and found it to be a special treat over white rice. The Filipino rice was really delicious too. Just left Jollibees, honestly such a transcending experience -- everytime. I love it here. Anytime my boyfriend asks what I want to eat, I suggest Jollibees. Sometimes I get lucky, other times not so much. Their fried chicken is SO. GOOD! I used to literally eat fried chicken every week for years. When the deals happened on Tuesdays, I popped OFF. I can honestly say that after my years of trying out various fried chicken chains/mom&pop spots that this is the best one hands down. My Filipino friends rave about Jollibee and was pretty excited when they opened a location in Houston. Now, I've had food in the Philippines and it was pretty good, so I was willing to give the famous fast food joint a try. The lines are long and they were out of spaghetti when we arrived at 6 pm on Saturday. My husband ordered the 2 piece friend chicken with corn. While I got a hamburger steak and fries. We also got the mango peach pie and the Hola Hola. I was pretty upset when it took 30 minutes just to get our order. I mean our buzzer never went off and it wasn't until my husband went up to the counter to check that we got some food. They're even slower than a sit down place which is ridiculous. Maybe someone picked up our food, but I was really annoyed the staff don't even check. The chicken was crispy, but very much like other fast food chains. Corn tasted ok, but nothing special. The hamburger steak looked sad - two small pieces of meat with some gravy and mushrooms and nothing else. The pie was ok - it tasted like McDonald's fruit pie. I thought the Hola Hola - which is a shaved ice multi-bean mixture with ube, mango and flan pudding was interesting. But not really my thing. Overall, horribly slow service and below mediocre food. Can anyone help me understand how they make their chicken because I did not expect it to be that good. The place is pretty big, and everyone is a bit on the cheerful side as if they been trained for years to cater to us. All the workers are working their best as if this is some exam. The quality of services is amazing to be honest, and I have not seen such an active work environment. We got a bucket of 3 spicy and 3 regulars, and both had amazing flavors that are simple and yet amazing. The spicy was interesting in a sense; the flavor was both inside and outside the chicken. The skin was amazing, and they should literally just make a plate of the skin. It was crispy and well put together rather than shattering to pieces in one bit. I did not try the gravy, but my friends said it blended the flavors well with the chicken. From the skin to the skin was a great combination of a crunchy soft tender chew. It was like slamming a record label with a big company then landing softly on a pillow mountain. It was a great feeling of the flavors from the skin to the chicken itself. Overall from the working environment to the chicken, I can say this is a must-try place if you love chicken. Ever since I first went to one in the Philippines, the chickenjoy has gotten me hooked on this place and whenever I came here I'd get some. I usually get a chickenjoy with rice and gravy. Nice crispy outside and juicy inside, and the gravy really complements the chicken and rice well. But that's just me. I've heard the spicy is good too so I might try that the next time. Now on to my review for this visit. This time I got one of their recent additions to their menu, a chicken sandwich. Most chicken sandwiches I've come across usually had at least lettuce, but since I don't usually like lettuce, I didn't mind. It also had an aioli (mayo with garlic) which I found delicious with the chicken sandwich. The fries of course, were nothing too special. I live a good 20 minutes or so from the Medical Center but whenever I come and I'm up for it, I will swing by again. read more

Gave it a second chance after the first time I tried it, around their grand opening. And I very much understand that it's a fast food place, but I don't understand how chicken joy can be so stale. Not saying it should be super fried, but you would think it would be somewhat on a church's chicken level, or even Walmart's deli. The spaghetti was descent, kind of a nice twist of sweetness. Jollibee, the iconic fast-food chain which launched in the 70s, has arguably become the most recognized export from the Philippines internationally and is beloved by Filipinos the world over. After years of passing the Main St location en route to other fast-food spots nearby (Five Guys, Chipotle, etc.), we finally gave it a go recently and opted for some of the most classic items. The Chickenjoy bucket featuring several fried chicken thighs/legs was a hit for the most part. The skin ultra-crispy and well-seasoned, which was the first thing I noticed. The flesh was juicy but they weren't the meatiest of pieces and the salt didn't quite penetrate to the bone. The accompanying dipping gravy added a nice creamy contrast to the chicken but it could've used a touch more salt as well for an additional layer of complexity. The Jolly Spaghetti is controversial, but I quite enjoyed it. The pasta is sweet and almost caramelly as it features ground beef in a tomato sauce sweetened brown sugar and a condiment called "banana ketchup"; instead of meatballs and grated parmesan, you get chunks of sliced hot dogs and shredded cheddar cheese (I can practically hear all the Italian purists going into cardiac arrest). It took a few bites to get used to, but the pungent tangy vibe grew on me. The meal concluded with the essential and fantastic Peach Mango Pie, featuring a crackly and flaky exterior with sweet, tropical filling. A satisfying and unique meal no doubt, but one - between gravy-soaked fried chicken and sweet spaghetti - that may not be for everyone. Only one way to find out where you fall! read more

They have tons and tons of food options, so it should be fairly easy for someone to find something you like. I was really craving Jollibee that day, and let me tell you, my cravings were satisfied. What I ordered: 3 Pcs Chickenjoy w/ 1 Side - 5/5 In my opinion, Jollibee has the best fried chicken hands down. Let me tell you why.... their chicken is moist, but it's not overly oily. You touch the skin, and it's not oozing off with grease. You get to the actual meat, and it's moist as heck. I would recommend anyone to at least try 1 fried chicken here. You will not forget it! For the side, we got mashed potatoes. You can't mess up mashed potatoes. Jolly Spaghetti - 5/5 Personally, I love their spaghetti. But I understand how some people may not like it. It's an acquired taste. Their spaghetti isn't like normal Italian spaghetti, it still has the same pasta, same tomato sauce, but it's on the sweeter side. They also put sliced up Vienna sausages in it. I would recommend people to try it at least once! Yum Burger - 4/5 It's a cheese burger. They only have one location in Houston and one in New York. They have their own parking lot so parking isn't a problem. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer. On a Friday evening, there was a decent line but you go through it quickly. I got the two-piece fried chicken and spaghetti combo with pineapple juice and a pineapple mango pie. It was an interesting combo. The fried chicken was solid. Better than KFC for sure and comparable to Popeye's in my book. Nice seasoning and I got a drumstick and a thigh. The spaghetti was really interesting too. It does have a tomato sauce but it tasted different than any tomato sauce I've ever had. Definitely not marinara sauce. It's topped with slices of hot dog and cheese. What a mix! The pie was similar to the apple pies you can get at McDonald's. Jollibee was an interesting experience and mostly Filipinos were there...that's a good sign. read more

This is the kind of fried chicken that I would bring to a friend gathering shamelessly. It's the kind of fried chicken you can feed to your Southern friends. I would order this on my deathbed. The palabok, a thin bean noodle with shrimp sauce, is a sneaker hit for me. The shrimp sauce just coats your palate, and a touch of lemon juice provided on the side just brightens it up, and supplies some welcome acidity to a very savory dish.
