When we saw Jollibee in San Antonio, I had to come here. The place overall, is a decent size and you can tell it is new. They have the Jollibee statue as well. We ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and my wife got the Spaghetti, 2 chicken, rice and mashed potatoes. Food was good and tasted the same across the chains. They did not have a menu item that I did not try, but wanted to try the UBE pie, but did not have them. I wish they did have the boba drinks again as I missed them. Fast food fried chicken ... My take ...just ok, I have had much better. We ordered the spicy chicken combo and the 6 piece chicken tenders. Combos have a side choice of mashed potato, fries, rice, or adobo rice. An array of dipping sauces available for chicken as well. The Spicy chicken didn't have much of a spice kick. We had no idea what to expect from Jollibee. My husband and I had heard of this Filipino-based fast food joint but didn't know what could be special about another fried chicken place. So...we had to go and see what the hype is all about. Well, now we know, and we see why there is a following. Now, here's the crazy thing for us. Jollibee is known for a few things. It's not just fried chicken but spaghetti and palabok, a Filipino noodle dish. We didn't try the spaghetti and palabok but are saving those for a future visit. We were there for the chicken. It was good. The chicken was juicy with a nice flavor and came with gravy for dipping. Oh boy, that gravy was worth the trip. Why don't other places do that? We're not talking a little bowl of gravy, we're talking an ample portion that will be more than plenty for the chicken and then some... Now let me mention one thing about the chicken: it will matter to some. They serve thighs and drumsticks. Dark meat only. I know some people that are hardcore anti-dark meat chicken eaters. Not us. We prefer it. We'll take thighs and drumsticks over white meat pieces. I mean, if you want juicy chicken, those are the parts to go for. So for those who won't let a piece of dark meat chicken cross your lips, this may not be the place for you, but I encourage you to try it and fix your flavor buds! You get to pick sides depending on whether you buy a "meal" or not. What we ordered came with three sides. The sides you have to pick from are a carbohydrate trifecta: french fries, mashed potatoes, and rice. You can get your rice plain or get seasoned adobo rice. We went with fries, mashed potatoes with gravy (yes, more gravy), and adobo rice. We favored the potato options over the rice, but the rice was also tasty. Jollibee is also known for a couple of other things: their pineapple drink and peach mango fried pie. Wowee. If you like pineapple at all, you'll love the drink. It's very tropical. Then that hot fried pie! When we went, there was a seasonal option of a banana langka-flavored hot fried pie. That was another winner, especially with my husband, who likes all things banana. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was helpful and courteous. This is a fast food joint, so there's no waitstaff to check on you, but the counter staff was helpful and made sure we had whatever we needed and asked for. We will certainly be back. It's not close to our house (that could be a good thing), so it may not be something we frequent regularly, but it will be a place to have on the list of standbys to visit when we want something "a little bit different" from the usual fried chicken places. This was my first time here, and we enjoyed our food. The chicken was nice and crispy. I'm not used to eating chicken with brown gravy, but we decided to try it like everybody else on Instagram. The gravy was different. It was good it's just not what I'm used to eating my chicken with but overall tasted good. The mashed potatoes were good with gravy. The spaghetti surprise. It is not like a Italian spaghetti. It is slightly sweet, but it has some spices in there that create a completely different item other than spaghetti. They slightly remind me of a grown-up adult version of SpaghettiOs. It was actually surprisingly really good. It wasn't too sweet either. I definitely would be back. I had a craving for fried chicken one day and Jollibee came to mind. I had just read a newspaper article online that their fried chicken is one of the best-rated in the world, if not the country! That is a pretty strong and positive statement, so, to prove to myself if that statement is valid, I visited Jollibee and ordered their ChickenJoy meals. I must have been hungry or just happy but their fried chicken is pretty good, in fact, excellent if I compare it to other greasy fried chicken places in the area. The meat was well seasoned and the crunch from the fried skin was doubly delicious. The meat was tender and moist, and the spices they use are mild and not overpowering. It's fried chicken at its best. I love fried chicken, especially after it comes off the skillet hot and juicy! It was still hot, so I had to be careful so I won't burn my mouth but I couldn't resist taking a bite of the drumstick because it was just beckoning to be eaten! The french fries were delicious and hot as well. The people there are so nice and so young! The last time I came here, I had to go through the drive-thru which was very impersonal. When the food came the chick was like warm at best and the fries were cold and nasty. The staff was rude. The on shift manager was rude also. I asked for a refund instead and was refused. This is a popular Filipino family destination on the weekends and it's not hard to see why. The chicken is bangin'. It's crispy, juicy, without being overly oily. The $24 family bundle still remains the best deal for lots of chicken at once, and the chicken fingers are definitely a smash. I am also a sucker for their ultra sweet spaghetti, which is topped with hot dogs, spam, sweet tomato sauce, and a layer of cheese. It's as sinful as it is delicious. Strangely, their yumburgers, chicken sandwiches, and pies are also a draw for me. Not everything is gravy though -- I think their palabok, while awesome to feature, is a tad too salty for my tastes. I feel the same way about the adobo rice and the hamburger steak. Excellent to have for variety's sake, I just wish the execution was better. It was really disappointing that they didn't have halo halo and the only drink they had was the pineapple which was good btw but so small. The spaghetti was good. The palabok was alright. I'm originally from Manila, Philippines and have had Jollibee many times there. I'm glad it finally made it to San Antonio! I let the craze die down a bit and let others who haven't tried it, try it out first. I had heard about the long lines and one of my coworkers (who is not Filipino) had already bought food there twice for his family. We finally made it yesterday and thankfully, there was no line yet. I had missed eating palabok and knew that's what I wanted to eat. They had the option to add the Chicken Joy so I added 1 dark meat. My husband had the 3-piece Chicken Joy with mashed potato. We both had the pineapple juice and the peach mango pie. With the pandemic, I knew it might be a while until I'm comfortable to travel to the Philippines but the palabok brought me home. I finished it all, which meant little room for the Chicken Joy, and I wanted to eat the peach mango pie. I had had the chicken skin that my husband shouldn't be eating. Sooo good! Knocked off a star for the sides. The sides (fries, mashed potatoes, chicken adobo rice) don't quite live up to everything else but ya know what? Just get some Chickenjoy, spaghetti and peach/mango pie and call it a day. Also the wait time, particularly the drive thru, is gnarly. Obviously it's to be expected because this location is fairly new, but it may turn off people who just want a quick trip. For the last year, they have screwed up 100% of our drive-thru orders -- YES, a 100% error rate!!! For several years now, I've been wanting to try Jollibee, a staple in the Filipino fast food industry, but always thought they were only found in California/Hawaii/west coast areas. However, while planning my weekend trip to Austin, I found out there's one in San Antonio! So I had to take the 90 minute trip down there... When planning on what I wanted, I've heard several of their most popular food items: their fried chicken, the palabok, the peach mango pie, spaghetti, and their pineapple quencher (which I believe is just pineapple juice). Who would've thought you could get all of these in a fast food restaurant?? So, of course, I went with a sampling of each: the 1 piece Chickenjoy meal with spaghetti, a palabok fiesta, a peach mango pie, and a pineapple quencher drink: all totaling out to around $24; not bad for how much food you get! The chicken was surprisingly pretty good, and I'm not even a huge. bone-in greasy fried chicken fan. Super juicy and seasoned pretty well. The spaghetti was quite interesting... it was tossed in a sweet tomato-y sauce topped with shredded cheese and... hot dog pieces? Actually not too bad, but not what I was expecting in the slightest. ironically, the Palabok Fiesta was the winner winner chicken dinner: the best way to describe it is a glass noodle type dish with garlic sauce, sauteed pork, shrimp, and egg. The pie was a perfect way to have dessert, sweet and tangy, but scalding hot so be careful the filling doesn't spill out the sides when biting into it. For a semi-warm fall day in Texas, the pineapple quencher was a great way to stay hydrated and refreshed. Definitely worth the visit! read more

I was so happy to hear Jollibee was coming to San Antonio. We would have to drive to Houston for a meal here before. It is such a Filipino staple and it brings the comfort of the homeland. I love that Filipinos who actually speak Tagalog work there. I usually get the Palabok fiesta. It's a rice noodle dish, similar to Pancit, but it's topped with a gravy. You add egg, shrimp, chicarrón, and beef on top. The fiesta adds on a piece of crispy chicken and gravy. It's perfect!! It leaves me craving for more. The Filipino spaghetti is also bomb. FYI- Filipino spaghetti is traditionally sweet and served with hot dog. It's another staple, very delicious. Again, this isn't Italian spaghetti. The peach mango pies are a great way to finish your meal. It's hot, crunchy, flaky, and the filling melts in your mouth. It's a hand held cobbler. My only reasoning for the 4 stars is they do not serve Halo Halo here. I'm left to traveling to Houston for that one! But I'm still grateful the Bee is in San Antonio. read more

I would actually buy a bowl of this gravy for my house if I was making homemade mashed potatoes and needed gravy to go on top. Jollibee we finally meet and in so enough to check out the dining room and enjoy dining inside. Upon entering the restaurant wasn't full so ordering was a breeze! The employee recommended the Chickenjoy with Jolly Spaghetti a popular amongst most customers so I took his word for it. The spicy fried chicken was perfectly cooked nice and crispy and even amount of spice nothing too overwhelming. Now the Jolly Spaghetti was ok too sweet the tomato sauce with what tasted like canned beef franks or hot dog pieces within the spaghetti. I was excited to visit Jolibee to try the fried chicken...why dear god, why isn't there any flavor to the chicken?! Mind you it is very crispy but that's about it.
