This is a very popular fast food chain in the Philippines. They have a couple locations here in San Diego. The place is usually clean and well taken care of during the times we've dined in. They've got a good mix of entrées; Burgers, Fried Chicken, Spaghetti, and Burger Steak. They also have french fries and mash potatoes for sides. We're fans of their box pies, especially mango. I'll give you my take on all of them: Fried Chicken: It's moist and taste good. Their batter is as mild as it can get. Even their spicy chicken is void of spice. Burgers: good. I haven't had Jollibee in a few years and when I would have it- it was when I would visit family in Vegas as they always had their delicious fried chicken at fam parties. A long time ago- I had been to the National City location and also the Mira Mesa location- which was sadly closed, but so glad it's been back. This is located near a business office building with tons of parking. Lucky the Friday evening I came had little to no wait. Order: Palabok Fiesta, Burger Steaks, Fried Chicken, Adobo Rice, Peach Mango Pie, and Pineapple Juice The menu here has a good variety and I definitely want to get the Jolly Spaghetti- since it's been forever since I've had that. Overall- the food was scrumptious! My palabok was filling, adobo rice was I highly recommend, Burger steak- tasty and delicious gravy, and of course the chicken was just as good as I remember from awhile back with the gravy sauce for dipping. The chicken skin is always fried crispy and crunch that is full of flavor- and delicious chicken meat. My only gripe was they forgot to give us our pineapple juice. If my brother in law and niece were writing this review, they'd give it a million stars because they're fascinated and obsessed with Jollibee. The rating is purely on what they're dishing out and not because I like it. It's a little too funky for me, so I come with the family each time but don't really participate in the meal. They always always always get at least 6-pieces of the fried chicken, a chicken sandwich to share with the table, an order of the spaghetti, garlic rice and the yum burger. Then every single person orders a peach mango pie for themselves and I get the pineapple drink. The fried chicken sandwich is very good, all white meat, always presented nicely. The gravy is just like a famous chicken shop, the fried chicken is a favorite of my niece's and the pie is a must have. I want to give this place the benefit of the doubt but I have been here way too many times since they opened and 8/10 times there is always something wrong. Employees were putting together meals and putting them on trays but were not calling out numbers. I came up and asked them after waiting 55 minutes. The girl tells me they're swamped and she is sorry. Ok I get that but I show her my receipt number, I was order 80. I look down at the trays they are assembling...they are in the 100s. WHAT. I don't understand how they are organizing the orders. In a restaurant, you assemble the orders based on their number, at this point it was clear to me that they were working on random orders. There was no organization. People coming in from the drive thru that are in the same situation as me waiting hours for their food only to be told that they are sorry and ran out of x,y,z. The jollibee in national city has a drive thru, is 1/2 the size of this and have less staff and gets the same amount of volume and they are able to get their shit together. I only give them 1 star because their food is pretty good. But the customer service, organization of this place is a joke. I brought my boyfriend and it was his first time. He was excited to try Jollibee and I kept telling him that it was good! Absolute greatest fast food Fried chicken I have ever had. The Spicy chicken is the way to go. My group and I got the 12 piece combo and it was amazing! We got half spicy and half plain and although the plain was good, the spicy just added the slight heat that made it taste really good. The gravy is amazing. It comes with each order of fried chicken and it is amazing. Dip everything in the gravy. I would recommend dipping the chicken, the fries, and the mashed potatoes. The service is pretty good. Okay I know a lot of people are tripping with two stars for Jollibee, but why are they constantly out of a spicy Chicken. For the time I was always saying Popeyes can't take any days off because Jollibee was on their ass. At this rate Popeyes has absolutely nothing to worry about. The adobo rice is delish but I had to pay $1 extra for each one which is a little more than I wish to pay. The decor is your classic Jollibee interior. The boy at the front could use a little personality. No peppy greeting, no smiles and very transactional. I lived in Mira Mesa in the 80's + 90's.  Not many food options outside of fast food joints back then.  Now it appears to be the golden age of dining.  Jollibee was in Mira Mesa back in 2010 and I found their food ok.  They returned to Mira Mesa December 3, 2020 and I gave them another try. Employees were very cheerful and friendly.  Drive through line at 10:30 am took a bit over 10 minutes. Fried chicken had crunchy batter and tender juicy chicken.  6 piece bucket was composed of half thighs and half drumsticks.  Loved the flavor.   2nd visit.  Showed up at 9:30am and nobody was inside.  I tried a 2 piece combo with fries and a mango peach pie.  Fried chicken was fresh, crunchy batter, tender and juicy chicken.  Loved the flavor which was a bit like Popeyes mild.  Fries were still hot as I watched them get it right from the fryer.  Crispy outside with a nice potato flavor.  Peach mango pie had a pastry texture like Popeyes apple pie.  Filling appeared to be mostly canned peaches.  I tasted lots of peach flavor but couldn't taste the mango.  I liked the pie as I love peaches. So far Jollibee and Popeyes are my fav spots in Mira Mesa for fried chicken.  I plan on rotating between the 2 as I like them about the same and their flavors are different enough that I won't get burned out on fried chicken that way. read more

Pretty good food even after having to wait over 45 minutes to get my food. Drive thru is ridiculous since they recently opened up. Their crew works hard and are very diligent. They keep the line moving. The parking lot is pretty empty since most people aren't walking in. I feel terrible for the IHOP and Pita spot next door which aren't getting any business. The food is good and reasonably priced. I like their chicken. Was lucky to get a fresh batch which I think is much better than Popeyes or Chow King. Also had the mango pies as well as palabok. After hearing about the 2+ hour drive-thru wait and the fact that the staff was not answering the phone line on their opening weekend, I was expecting the worst when I made a visit during a weeknight. The lobby was open this time so I was able to find parking and walked in to place an order to-go. Surprisingly, there was not a long queue as opposed to the number of vehicles lined up in the lot. The inside looked nice and shiny with markers set up on the floor for social distancing. The kitchen preparation area was busy, but the workers didn't seem overwhelmed by the volume of business. I bought two of the combos... 2-pc Chickenjoy with Palabok Fiesta, 2-pc Chickenjoy with Jolly Spaghetti, and a Peach Mango Pie for dessert. The overall time I spent from entering the line to receiving my food was only 20 minutes which was a bonus. The quality of the fried chicken was okay at best. It's definitely not on the level of Popeyes or Church's. On the other hand, I really liked the spaghetti and the palabok. The sweet tomato sauce and chunks of hot dog reminded me of childhood days when I ate a similar style of spaghetti. I could detect a hint of ground white pepper in the palabok which was a pleasant aroma. Even the fried pie was yummy as it resembled the old school apple pie from McD's. I do wonder how they chose this location as it's recessed away behind IHOP in the Mira Mesa Medical Mall. I can only imagine how annoyed the neighboring businesses must feel to have to deal with all the traffic that gums up the parking lot as vehicles try to figure their way into the drive-thru. I find most of the negative reviews are due to long lines but that is completely natural on an opening day. Ive gone back several times now and the lines are never that long. Also-if it bothers you-call and order to pick up-its faster anyway. The food for me has always brought the homey and comfort food that I long for. Even though I may not have grown up in the philippines-I was there until I was about 5 years old. I was still old enough to remember walking down pasig and finding a Jollibee. We honestly said yes. We were told that we should have corrected this anytime once we received our order, I think this was heard by other customers so felt uncomfortable. We have partly eaten the meal until we realized something was not right, decided not to come to the counter and complained. We saw the survey link and answered it the way we felt. Anyway.
