This branch in Roosevelt NY is very crowded and loud. It's like a market place. The place is a bit tight for seating. The tables are oddly located in the middle of the room due to the design of the floor plan. Although, the food is amazing. Chickenjoy! Always the best - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The spaghetti is great and very Filipino style. I've noticed two counters up front but only 1 counter is taking orders. There are people at the back working like crazy due to orders over orders. Last visit, I placed an instore order and had to wait over half an hour for my food. This time in order to avoid that I placed an order within the app half an hour beforehand. It was 3 when I placed the order so the lunch rush should've been over. Once I got there, the app said my order was ready but staff couldn't find my order at the pickup area or the counter pickup. They went back to the kitchen to find out why so many people's orders were delayed and it turns out my order actually wasn't even ready yet supposedly due to an app glitch? So in the end, the order took almost an hour to be ready...PSA if you plan to place an order, do it at least an hour beforehand because if they can't even meet the hour quota, then they really need to work on the speed of completing the orders on time. This is beyond frustrating and not fair to the good Dasher delivery workers trying to complete the request. I only wished I read the delivery reviews before I put in my order. We got two buckets of fried chicken, 1 being spicy and the other one not. Well, there is a better option that's been serving the Woodside neighborhood for nearly 15 years. Jolibee is a Filipino fried chicken chain situated in the heart of where their people live. Luckily, they serve everyone else too, so I love stopping here once in a while to get my fix. Tbh, I am not a sides person because nothing really blows me away at any of the chain restaurants. Same goes for Jolibee even though their sides are much more unique compared to competitors. Doesn't matter because I'm here for the chicken. Speaking of those delicious pieces of poultry goodness, their version is always consistent. The batter is not greasy like Popeyes or too thick like KFC. Instead, it's perfectly crispy with a thin coating of batter. As for the meat, it's juicy and flavorful every time. Not sure if they brine overnight, but that would be my guess as to why it's always so good. Is this the best fried chicken I ever had? Of course not. I could already smell the fried chicken 3 blocks away on my way to pick up my order. Yep Jollibee is best known for its fried chicken which is known as "chickenjoy". It's a Philippines-based chain with 1500 restaurants worldwide, but only 71 in the US. Even in the NYC area there are only 4. So it is still up and coming. We first tried their spicy chicken sandwiches. I would say it's better than Chick-fil-A. What I like about them is the buttery buns and the fact that the batters are not very salty. They absolutely need to put more of that spicy sauce than a tiny dab of it though! We liked it so much that we went back the second day for their Anniversary Bucket. It's 12 pieces of joy for $25. There're 6 drumsticks and 6 packs over 2 buckets and came with 2 cups of gravy. The drumsticks were exceptionally juicy. The backs are OK, being mostly batters. Their mobile app, on the other hand, is a total fail. We tried ordering separately on our respective phones but none of us could get through the payment process. We gave up. It's a bit better after switching to online order using the web browser; still, our attempts kept getting rejected because the restaurant are so backed up that by the time we were ready to submit the order, the pick up time became invalid. We literally changed our pickup time from ASAP to 1:00, 1:30, etc when we first started using the app. By the time we finished ordering using the browser, the available pickup time became 3:00 and 3:30 our 2 orders! The next day when I tried again for the Anniversary Bucket, and the pickup option was removed for this location because it was totally swamped. We ended up ordering directly at the restaurant. Food was 5 out of 5, but the ordering process was a nightmarish 1 out of 5. Tip: There is a motion activated faucet right next to the fountain drinks. I tried placing an order tonight and they canceled on me - when I called, they were open but the employee said they checked with their supervisor who instructed them that yes, they've turned off online orders tonight, and to check back in an hour to see if they'd turn it back on again, but that if it was still closed, to try again tomorrow. Finally had a chance to try out the Filipino fried chicken chain that is Jollibee. Was able to get a 10 piece bucket, 3 pies, 2 sides, and a chicken sandwich for under $40 (with an offer from their app) so I think it is right on par with other fried chicken chains. I guess we went on a busy time and they mentioned that the wait was going to be 30 mins and asked us if that was ok. They then handed us a buzzer to let us know when the food is ready which was convenient. There were a few tables for dine in but we were taking our order home. We just didnt like the idea of eating finger food and sharing a long bench table with strangers, though other people did not seem to mind. Honestly there isnt anything different with their fried chicken that puts them aboveother chains. It really comes down to personal preference. They do give you a side of gravy to dip the fried chicken in which is unique. Their peach mango pie was alright but I perfer the Ube pie. Even the Uber drivers were laughing waiting with me in the line. I don't know which is worse going in line in the store for dine in, or ordering for pickup or ordering through Uber eats. This store just don't care so why ask us for feedback when no change is ever done? I use to work for jollibee in the Philippines so I know how it works. Now, after 2 years, there is still no change. The manager and QC (Quality Control) should anticipate the volume of orders from 3 sides, 1. order for delivery 2, order for pickup 3. Dine in There should be a person assigned for each of these orders to supervise at least efficiency rather than everyone just running around like headless chickens. It is disorganized. The staff must be overworked and exhausted.They need adequate staffing. If you know your food is tasty and there are alot of customers, then you should also have adequate staffing and train them well for their assigned tasks not run around to help out with other tasks. Fav sandwich is the aloha sandwich which has pineapple and that with whatever sauce it has is a good combo, the spicy sandwhich is ok (wish it was more spicy). My fav drink is the sweet coconut freeze (not quiet a Pina cola but sweet coconut vibe) then second is pineapple quencher. Mash potatoes has similar vibe to pop 's. This location is the closest one to me from Eastchester, either this one in Queens or the one in NJ. At 4:35 on Thursday afternoon, which one would you choose? We ordered: * Jollibee Spaghetti ($5.99) * 6pc Chickenjoy Bucket Bundle, 3 spicy / 3 regular, gravy, Adobo Rice and Crispy Fries as our sides, with two pineapple juices ($21.80) * 2x 6 pc Snack Box of Peach Mango and Coconut Pineapple Pies ($16 32.00) The meal itself came out to $30.26 and the pies $34.84 in a separate order -- we wanted a little bit of everything. I love how spicy the chicken was, the exterior and the chicken itself was seasoned. The chicken is separated in the bucket and the spicy chicken was easy to identify with spicy flag toothpicks which is a nice attention to detail. Pineapple juice was good but tasted like from concentrate. Adobo rice paired well with the gravy and chicken. The spaghetti was as good as I remembered.
