Jonah said the menu is inspired by the different foods Los Angeles is known for so sampling with the platter was the best way to do that. I will definitely be coming back with my family. Food Algeries should be taken seriously. I told them i was Algeric 3 times the served me food with onions 2 times, then a third time was in the sauce. My girls food had two hairs in the caviche... the manager took care if our meal and replaced it with non contaminated food but eaters beware. Service was great though. I am not a reviewer type of person. It takes a lot for me to post on yelp, but the service and food were next level so had to so appreciation. Came here on a whim with my wife and we loved it. We stuffed over faces with Yellowtail ceviche. Wagyu tacos. Cochinita pibil tacos. Lomo saltado. We had ordered the chipotle cream corn but lucky for us they needed to make a new batch and canceled it because we were stuffed. They kindly gave us ice cream which was amazing highly recommended the vanilla custard that comes with a raspberry compote. Amazing service, good vibes, great food. What more can you ask for? I've been wanting to try Jonah's for a long time. Last night I did, and I am still trying to make sense of the meal I had. I ordered chicken enchiladas. The waiter set it down and said "be careful it is very hot!" It looked good. But one bite revealed it wasn't hot -- it had pockets of steam but was cold inside, either because they microwaved it or because they used canned corn (or both). Not sure why these enchiladas had an entire can of corn in them but it was not good. Really really disappointing. read more

Tacos were good, I personally preferred the wagyu beef taco as it reminded me of a high end Taco Bell beef taco (I love Taco Bell tacos lol). My bf had the brisket sandwich and the house made pickles were forgotten but damn was that sandwich BOMB. I got a margarita made with mezcal instead of tequila and the mix was a little watery for my liking so I got a $7 house shot to add to it and voila! Perfect! You can see the meats smoking above the open flame stove top / grill and the seating area in the back is a very lovely vibe for a date night or drinks with friends! In the back there's also a bar you can directly order (just booze) from! I will say it's been insanely humid here in LA lately so that back patio area has zero breeze or fans or ac which cut our stay short as we were dripping sweat but such is summer in socal! This place is very aesthetically pleasing, especially in the back seating area where the bar is located. In short, it's a great place to come take pictures for social media. But that's pretty much it. It's a beautiful but overpriced cafeteria. It takes a while to figure out that the restaurant operates cafeteria style. You feel very pressured to figure out what to order because you have to order food before you can sit. This is challenge 1. Challenge 2: after ordering, a physical number card is given and you have to find your own seating. I awkwardly walked around for a while looking for a table to free up. Then u sit there with a dirty table waiting for someone to come and clean it. Also, you have to find your utensils and serve your own water. Utensils are not easy to find. Food: Grilled Octopus: terrible, not a very pleasant taste as it had an aftertaste that was bitter. And the plating looked like someone threw up on my plate. Ceviche: excellent, very tasty and a good portion. Tacos: terrible. Extremely greasy pork. I had grease running down my wrist. The tortillas are not really tortillas. I've been here three times now, and once I even went twice in one week--I was that impressed. I usually bring friends who haven't tried it before, and they always leave happy. I've tried several dishes, like the Mi Amor, a few ceviches, lomo saltado, surf and turf, crispy potatoes, corn, guacamole, and octopus. Everything has been solid, with great flavor and the perfect balance of acidity. Jonah's has great food and an interesting menu. However the night we went the place was frenetic and very very loud. We were greeted at the door by a friendly gentleman who showed us a couple seating options. Then we got into the line to place our order which took about 10-15 minutes to get through. There was only one guy who was taking orders and ringing people up, while at the same time serving drinks, cleaning up spills, replacing the silverware bins, and several other tasks. He was overwhelmed but he handled it quite well. We had the chicken tacos, market veggie side, saltado de camerones, and the peach and raspberry cobbler. Everything had just a little bit of a spicy kick and was delicious. The only thing we thought was just ok was the dessert. I'll be back to try some of the other dishes, like the branzino which looked really good, but will try to come earlier to avoid the crowds and noise. read more

I think that it would be a fun place to go for dinner with friends or on a date. I ordered the crispy potatoes, based on Yelp reviews! I'm so glad that I did! They are so crispy and delicious! Some of the pieces can be on the saltier side, but I think that is the perfect way to eat crispy potatoes. I also ordered the Pibil taco, and the "parilla stye" ribs. The taco was smaller than expected, especially considering the price, but the meat was so flavorful! It was like a flavor bomb in my mouth. The parilla style ribs were good. They were pretty tender and the salt and pepper seasoning provided sufficient flavor. That said, I think that they forgot to pack the sauce... Or perhaps the sauce was already on the ribs? We wanted the chimichurri sauce, but I think that my order only came with the ranch for the potatoes (and the ranch sauce wasn't very good -- a bit bland and watery). read more

Here you order at the cashier and the food is delivered to your table. The back hallways leads to a room with open ceiling that has karaoke but not when I was there, so I can't say much, there is a small bar there and looks like a fun place for hanging out. The decor of the place was tropical. We had food off regular menu Argentinian steak and the Salmon dish. Neither came with any sides and we had to order a salad and fries separately . The food was very tasty and a good portion of protein. This place used to be great on the weekend with good food in the front part and a bar in the rear part. So I went there tonight had some good chicken enchilada if a little pricey. When the manager first sat me down he threw a menu on the table and walked away and I had to clean the uneaten food Left over from the previous party off the seat cushions and the table. Very nasty. The enchilada was great which I expected. For dessert the menu said vanilla bean gelato. The waitress who had been good up till then, brought me a bowl of generic vanilla ice cream. She said here I gave you a little extra. I take a spoonful and I realize not only is it not vanilla bean flavor, but it's not even gelato! It was just a generic bowl of vanilla ice cream that tasted like it came from a drugstore. Absolutely ridiculous. She never mentioned that they don't carry vanilla bean gelato when I ordered it. She just brought the dime store grade generic vanilla ice cream hoping I wouldn't notice. Unbelievable! This place used to be great however tonight it was completely empty except for about 10 people. What a shame. Jonas's has fallen off its perch. I do not recommend going here unless you're going to get the food to go. And you better check to see that it's what you ordered and paid for because they'll try and FOOL you and give you generic garbage for high priced food. read more

Lastly had corn that was good, better than good but heavy. I won't rush back but will give it a try and just have the small plates. The tacos looked good.
