Wonderful place to go for sleep study for sleep apnea. Office was small and cozy. Beds were super comfortable & room and bed linens very Clean and sanitary, same with the bathroom. The girl nurse was super helpful and great at her job. Im totally blanking on her name. My appt. Was April 21, 2026. So please give her a kudo/raise or something positive reward wise. Fell asleep fast due to it being very quiet and the building being so securely locked up there was nothing to worry about. I highly recommend this place. read more

Before I start my review, I want to say that my rating has nothing to do with Dr. Adhoot's staff. They were always kind and efficient, except for the one who told me to arrive 45 minutes before my sleep study. I wish I could give the doctor ZERO stars though. On November 4, 2025, I was scheduled for a sleep study with Dr. Adhoot. This was after they contacted me the month before to cancel my appointment because their equipment wasn't working. I was told to arrive at his office at 8:15 p.m. I arrived on time, but no one showed up to open the doctor's office until 9pm. It was creepy being in an office building by myself, but I didn't want to leave in case someone came and opened the door. Once inside, a young man put me in a room with a bed, mumbled something as he walked out the door, and I didn't see him again until an hour later. I was really uncomfortable in the room, and I started texting family members that I wanted to go home. When the young man came back to my room, I told him that I was going to leave. He started telling me about how this was his first night alone on the job and that someone had forgotten to leave him linens for the beds, etc. I decided not to ruin his night and agreed to be hooked up for the study. There were no explanations about anything regarding the test. Just get in bed and sleep. The bed had no top sheet, so I had to sleep under a scratchy wool blanket. I could not get comfortable in the bed and, as much as I tried, I could not sleep. Around 12:45 a.m., I was told that if I couldn't sleep in the next 15 minutes I was going to have to leave. No one had ever told me that the test was four hours and if I couldn't sleep in four hours I would have to leave. However, as much as I was tired by this time and wanted to sleep, I couldn't. At 1:00 a.m. sharp, the man took all the wires off and sent me home. As I went out the door he asked, "Are you able to drive?" and I thought to myself, "Do I have a choice?" On the way out I had asked this guy how to get the glue from the wiring out of my hair and he said just hot water would do it. I went home, wet my hair with hot water, put my hair in a ponytail and went to sleep around 3:00 a.m. I had to work the next day, so I woke up at 5:30 a.m. and there was still glue all through my hair. I didn't have time to wash my hair, so I went to work and by noon I was so tired I had to go home. Once at home it took about a half a bottle of shampoo and scrubbing to get the glue out of my hair. Fast forward to yesterday, November 11, 2025. I was supposed to have a follow up phone visit with Dr. Adhoot between 3 and 4pm. His office called me at around 4:30 p.m. and after about 10 minutes they transferred me, supposedly to the doctor, and the person on the other line hung up. When I called up to let them know I was disconnected, the woman who answered said "What is it you want to review with the doctor?" I told her that he had set the appointment with me so what did he want to discuss? She said I didn't have the study so there was nothing to discuss, and I told her I didn't complete the study because I couldn't sleep not because I didn't show up for it. I wanted to see about rescheduling for another day for an at-home test. The woman put me on back on hold and about 15 minutes later someone picked up the phone and disconnected me again. So disrespectful and unprofessional. So, now I have to start the process all over again to get a referral for another sleep study with a different doctor. They couldn't pay me enough to ever treat with Dr. Adhoot again. read more

I am writing this with a heavy heart. I must say this incident was and still is hard to comprehend that a medical doctor, like Dr. Ahdoot can be so cold hearted. My husband has been a Dr. Ahdoot's patient for years. About two months ago, they found a suspicious nodules in his lungs from a routine check. We were advised to go see Dr. Ahdoot for a PET scan to check if they are cancerous. During the visit, I corrected Dr. Ahdoot for his minor mistake and it was very obvious that he didn't like that. Since then, it was almost impossible to get hold of him. After the PET scan was done, we have been calling his office for the results everyday for two weeks. Each time Maria at the front desk said the doctor has the results and review them "when he can". After we couldn't get a word from Dr. Ahdoot about the results, I went to the office out of desperation. When I saw the doctor at the office, he yelled at me in front of other patients. Finally, we had to giving up getting results from Dr. Ahdoot, it was very obvious that he would not give us any reports out of being vengeful. We changed to a new pulmonologist and we were immediately found out from a new doctor that my husband has a lung cancer! So, consequently, this is what that Dr. Ahdoot has done to us. Looking at the PET scan results right in front of him on the desk, clearly it shows that my husband has a lung cancer, he would not pick up the phone and let us inform that he has a lung cancer, just because he was mad at me (for pointing a minor, insignificant error). Thanks to our new pulmonologist, my husband is done with the radiation treatments and recuperating well. Meanwhile, it has been almost three months, we haven't heard from Dr. Ahdoot. He wouldn't know that my husband is done with the cancer treatments. In other words, he would be probably think that he risked my husband's life by not letting him know that he has a lung cancer, and he is perfectly fine with that. And I am sure he has been sleeping very well with that. Dr. Ahdoot should not be a doctor and I will do everything in my power to let the medical association know what kind of doctor he is. read more

First I want to thank Dr. Ahdoot for helping our family throughout this hard time. I'm a delicate and sensitive person, and Dr. Ahdoot I was totally impressed by the way he treated my Grandmother. He is not only an Excellent Doctor, he is a superb Human being, approachable, friendly approach with a smiling face with his selfless service. Always amazing treatment. He is an extraordinarily intelligent Doctor with human values. Nice advice, hardly find such noncommercial Doctors. I saw Dr. AHDOOT in hospital a day after a 9- hour surgery. During surgery I developed blood clots in my heart. Dr. AHDOOT found them and treated me. I saw him 2-3 times, and he asked me to make an OP appointment at his office. That was the first week in August. My case manager and the admin assistant at the rehab hospital attempted no less than 10 times to make that follow-up happen, but not one call was returned. We were baffled. Each nurse in his office sounded competent enough, but they were not capable of a return call. Really liked Dr. AHDOOT immediately. He seemed especially competent. But what's going on with his office? It is now Nov. and, of course I've found another pulmonologist. read more

I visit him for my problem breathing which already was diagnosed as COPD. . I had to stay in hall way for one hour and half since there was not any room in his very small waiting room and then I was called to stay in exam room. I stayed in this room for another 45 min before he came to the room. He did a brief exam for about 15 min. prescribe an inhaler and left without checking my situation and my complain. I told him that I am already on the inhaler but he did not answer me and left. I called the office few days later and spoke to secretory regarding my situation which was getting worst and she said Dr. will call you and advise you but he never called me. I was in a bad situation so I went to office to see if he can advise me. Waited for one hour and finally I went to office to speak to him but he yale at me that you can not come to my office without appointment and left to another room. He is acting very unprofessional, careless and arogent. I have read other review about him and noticed that nobody had anything good to say about him. The worse Doctor and staff I have ever dealt with. Zero follow-ups from the staff or the Doctor. I have been using an APAP for the past 25 years and am not new to the game. My previous Doctor had retired, and my Medicare provider recommended Jonathan Ahdoot (note, I didn't use Doctor - because I believe he doesn't deserve that acknowledgment). Here is the summary - 10 months ago I took a remote sleep study. Never received a call from the Doctor to review the results. 3 months ago, my APAP started to malfunction, and the device was older than 5 years. This is a no-brainer for replacement. Met with Jonathan 3 months ago and he said a replacement of the APAP machine should not be a problem. I waited and waited for the updated status of my APAC machine. I contacted Jonathan's office and was informed I had to come in for an overnight sleep study. After waiting 3 weeks I contacted the office for an update on my recent sleep study. Had to wait another week before I could speak with Jonathan. This is where it becomes funny, Jonathan starts updating me on my sleep study. I had to interrupt him and let him know the information he was supplying me was the previous study done 10 months ago. He acknowledged his error and updated me on the current study. Jonathan stated he would have his office manager order the APAC thru my approved supplier. I contacted my supplier and was informed that no order/request for a new machine had been placed. I contacted Jonathan's office manager who stated she was waiting for approval thru Optum (insurance provider) She stated she would call me back in 30 minutes. After 24 hours with no response, I called again and spoke with the office manager. She stated approval for the replacement machine just arrived. WOW - thought my new machine would be coming soon. NOPE - I contacted the supplier who informed me that the order was on hold because the insurance provider order a BYPAC, and Jonathan ordered a standard CPAC. Now it has been 3 months and I am still waiting for my new machine. I haven't been able to have a restful sleep for months and the Jonathan and staff don't seem to care. If you are asking yourself - did I receive my new machine yet - the answer is no. Waiting for Jonathan to rewrite the order to the supplier. Stay away from Jonathan Ahdoot and his staff. It's frustrating beyond words and just SAD that this office can't get things right! Simple things....like scheduling a sleep study I was waiting 2 months for....PROPERLY filling out the forms for insurance approval for the sleep study....following up X-ray/test results...returning urgent phone calls...this office FAXING MY file to my new Dr? FORGET IT! Even though I was promised by the back office tech,Alex,to fax my file she dropped the ball and did not do it. When I arrived at my new Dr's office this last Friday, they said "we absolutely did not receive your records that were requested by Dr.Ahdoot's office, we're sorry". I was soooo disappointed when I walked into my appointment Friday and those records were not there for Dr. to review. I almost cried (again) at the lack of concern for my well-being and the lack of keeping their word to this patient (ME). I told the office from the beginning that time was of the essence because I'd be moving out of state in October. While Dr. Ahdoot was kind enough and seemed to truly want to help me on my first visit, the office just lagged....they forgot about me even though they knew I had a serious "obstructive sleep apnea" issue that has left me unable to function properly on day to basis or to work because of my exhaustion and horrific, daily headaches from the apnea. Now...I'm overwhelmed trying to find a new PCP to generate a referral,in another state, that's not 2 to 3 mo booked out! I would have had my CPAP while I was in California if this office simply followed through in a timely manner. Sleep apnea can be deadly and I live alone, God forbid something happen to me during yet another unnecessary waiting period. The referral process they have, and this office in general, CLEARLY lacks basic standards. BTW...the recent reviews below,on how great the office is run and how well they work together, is a JOKE (mistruths). AND when I called the office again on Wednesday to again ask for my records to be faxed,mailed, or emailed,my call did not go through to this office the entire day, no voicemail, NOTHING. After three scans, 8 months of unreturned phone calls, 2 years of stress thinking I might have lung cancer, and being told that I needed to see him again in a year, I decided to seek a new doctor. I had the pleasure of having phone consultations with Dr. Ahdoot about a present sleep issue my Autistic teenager is having. He was not only very knowledgeable but incredibly caring. He put my mind at ease immediately by stating that the issue my son is having is not related to sleep apnea even though our Internal Dr. said that was the case. Dr. Ahdoot knew right away that it had to do with my son's sinus, reflux and teenage hormones, and patiently explained everything to me by putting my sensitive heart at comfort. He also gave me many helpful tips to help with my son's sinus issues and referred us to an excellent ENT, Dr. Norman Ge. I am truly impressed by Dr. Ahdoot. I wish I could give zero stars. Dr. Ahdoot was the pulmonologist which Hoag Hosp in Irvine referred my elderly father to because he was on staff or on call that day when an x-ray revealed a 4 cm. lump in my father's lung. A biopsy and bronchoscopy was scheduled and performed. I wasn't there but the RN caregiver for my dad and my mother reported he was uncommunicative to them. My mother tried repeatedly to make that follow-up appointment and never got a call back. Being more tenacious, I was finally able to schedule an appointment for them, after being disconnected repeatedly. The two office girls speak very rapidly in hard-to-understand English. As for follow-up, my Dad was too weak to come into the office even via wheelchair, and I told the office girl this. She suggested a gurney transport which we were not able to arrange. We requested a phone call in place of a visit. We never got a call from Dr. Ahdoot after multiple messages. There is a complete lack of communication from this dr and his office staff. I did finally get the biopsy result showing a benign result after ten days of requesting. "Maria" in the office said she sent it when she did not. This required more phone calls by me. The biopsy was supposedly "negative" or benign, but this turned out to be a false finding. The hospitalist at Hoag, a Dr. Liao, a month later admitted it was a failed biopsy, meaning insufficient material was removed or tested. The eventual diagnosis was metasticized lung cancer and bone cancer, resulting from colon cancer many years prior. All drs. missed this upon my Dad's first hospitalization, even though his CEA marker was 76.2 we found out LATER. Oh but Dr. Ahdoot wanted to perform ANOTHER procedure a month after the first biopsy, a transthoracic biopsy, so Medicare could be billed once again. (My father passed a mere week after this proposed transthoracic procedure.) Dr. Ahdoot is not interested in communicating or providing actual care of a patient, only in performing procedures in hospital so he can bill Medicare more. The only way I finally got to speak to him on the phone was because a VA dr. suggested I press the selection on the phone that I was a dr. or a hospital. When he did finally appear at my Dad's hospital room door, he was all charm, and I held my tongue to him so as to not upset my father, who passed less than a week after that day. Horrible patient care and communication both from this "dr" and his office staff. I suggest if he is the pulmonologist recommended to you while you are in an acute care facility, that you decline and choose another dr. read more

What to say about this guy: first, it was in the height of the Covid pandemic. I hadn't seen him before, but one doctor was walking around the clinic with his mask under his nose, and I was thinking, man, I hope that's not my doctor--it was. I'm high risk, but still would like the mask on, hello. He comes into my room with the mask under his nose. I ask him to please pull it up--he doesn't look happy about it, but he submitted. He did the appropriate blowing in the machine test and sent me for an X-ray. So far, not bad. I was warned, by a doctor, than he didn't have a lot of patience. I also needed a CPAP checkup (the machine you use for sleep apnea). I said I'd rather do the at-home test than sleep over in a clinic. He started to walk out the door, when I said, ok, I'll go. Walk out the door, what? I said, if my "machine" test is fine, why do I still wheeze so? I breathed out, to show him the wheezing sound--mask on--and he was taken aback like I purposely tried to do something bad. So, I went for my X-ray. I never received a call back, letting me know if it's negative or positive. I was so worried, because my dentist was having a terrible problem with her lungs. Well, I called back for two more days--nothing. On the third day, I told the front office I was very upset that he never called back. He immediately returned the call, putting on a very sweet voice--not like his grumpy self--and said he would have returned the call if the results were positive. How would I know his style? Call me either way please? Then after I asked him why I'm still wheezing, he suggested I get two more invasive tests. A bronchoscopy and some other. No one ever called me to set these up! Not even for the sleep study (of which he owned one). I'm glad they never called, the bronchoscopy being so invasive. I saw two other doctors, both saying this wasn't necessary. Just bad allergies and weight pushing on them. If he had told me that I was okay, then why the tests? See Dr. Inchel Yeam. He's knowledgeable and even showed me exercises to open up the lung area. read more

Really truly enjoy Dr. Ahdoot. Very educated, wonderful physician and truly trust his opinion. However, the way the office is run is another story. I have called three times and cannot get a call back after my initial examination. I am told over and over that Doctor will contact me about my lab results that day, and no one will contact me. So, I have had to resort to ordering a copy of my results to take them to another health care provider to go through. It is sad that this is the state of how things are run because of the caliber of the physician Dr. Adhoot is. I believe he could truly do so much better. I can't believe Hoag Hospital allows him to represent them. I had Covid19 in April and was referred to Dr. Ahdoot by my primary care physician. First of all, his office looked like it was from 1955. I couldn't believe I was in this building and office. He ordered many tests which I immediately followed through on. It is now weeks later and I have never received any results from bloodwork, X-rays and a pulmonary spirometer test at Hoag Hospital. It required me to go the 3 different locations. Nothing. Crickets. I've called his office. They said, "Well, maybe it's because they were okay?" Seriously? No results? The tests combined will probably be thousands of dollars. read more

After having chronic bronchitis for a number of years, Dr. Jonathan Ahdoot addressed and treated my problem successfully for the first time. He also gave me an excellent referral for a gastroenterologist who has also been extremely helpful after I had seen a number of other physicians in the field. Occasionally, he runs behind schedule, but I've grown to understand that this is because he is giving patients the time they need and being thorough in his evaluation and treatment. Overall experience with the Pulmonary and Sleep Center of Irvine was horrible. The wait once being shown to a room was over 45 minutes. There were several attempts to schedule a follow-up sleep study in which I was once told not to call during their lunch hour, and on two occasions was told I would receive a call back. After 5 weeks of waiting to hear back they finally called. I asked if the sleep study would be for narcolepsy like he suggested. The response was that she had never heard of narcolepsy in her life, and would call back after asking colleagues. I can't believe someone working for a Sleep Center wouldn't know such a common disorder, but I can believe that I never received that call back. read more

Consistently poor service from front office staff, failing to return calls, file requests and authorisations in a timely manner, add to that hostile calls for collection of payments that should be taken care of by contacting insurance. A very disappointing experience with the service aspect of care. He is cavalier with diagnosis' without having test results and had the audacity to yell at me when I called to follow up on results because I called earlier than he expected although I was following his directions. NEVER go to him if you have choices. And if he is assigned to you at a hospital, ask for a replacement. I am complaining to the hospital Patient Advocacy group as well. read more

I had a very severe pneumonia, and was hospitalized and I owe my recovery greatly to dr ahdoot. any time that I have gone to see him, he has been very knowledgeable, thorough and cautious and most of all, he is very compassionate. some people are meant to be doctors....and dr Jonathan Ahdoot is one of them. Terrible experience! I was referred to Dr. Ahdoot and had hoped for the same pleasant experience as the referring doctor. What I got was quite the opposite and I'll be letting my referring doctor know. Making the appointment was pleasant and easy so thumbs up on that one. I got a reminder call for the appointment the day of the appointment which was silly because most places give you a reminder call the day before. I arrived 5 min before my appointment time and had all my paperwork filled out and ready. Walking through the office door I got a sinking feeling that there was a long wait due to the entire waiting room being full and people were in the hallway. I should've taken that as a sign to just leave and find a new place to go. Long story short, I was taken back to the room 45 minutes after my appointment time. It then took another 35 to see the Dr who spent about 15 minutes with me. In total, I spent 2 hours there and saw the Dr for 15 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous! I went to Dr. Adhoot for a second opinion on my asthma. It was obvious that he didn't understand depression, and told me to stop being negative about now not being the optimal time for dieting. Wise, capable and very caring physician. He takes time to consider all different possible diagnoses and even makes sure to rule out the more rare conditions most physicians don't think about. He is very knowledgeable and also a professor at UCI medical center. He is extremely compassionate and thorough. Stay away from this office. After having a serious lung infection I started going to him to find the problem. I'll start with the office. The assistant at the front desk is very curt and on the border of rude. After charging your co-pay that they add $3 on to use your atm/debit cars, you wait in an over-filled waiting room. Typically your appointment time is about 30 minutes behind. After a few visits to him over weeks (he only works so many hours per week), he finally decided to do a more in depth test. This was after I was coughing every few minutes or almost everytime I talked. During my bronchoscope I had to yell I'm still awake it's March 1, (I said the date to show I was in fact completely awake still), he used a stronger drug to knock me out. I guess my eyes being wide open and looking around wasnt enough. After finding out what was wrong I was given the right drugs to take and on my way. This took weeks to find out. Here's where it gets good. 6 months later I started coughing again. Worried it was an infection again I started going back over several weeks. 1 breathing treatment each time and a medication and no changes. Weeks later and a few more visits he prescribed Lexipro (yes, the medicine for depression). I took 2 days worth and felt weird. BTW- he finally took bllod work for allergies, still never heard back on that. I called my primary doctor and he was amazed by this medicine. My brother who works in an emergency room also questioned it. I decided to go to a new pulomanry doctor where he immediately put me on a breathing treatment 3 times per day and things are already much better. He is running full test immediately to find out what is wrong. Not over months, after 1 visit. My new doctor also called for blood test but they never sent them over, so I had to do then agaim. read more

I recently paid a bill from Dr. Ahdoot's sleep center, which he owns, for $2132. 30, even though he is listed as in-network from United Healthcare, which is my insurance carrier, and who is listed as in-network from UHC's website. UHC has two classifications from my plan, in-network, with a $200 deductible, and out-of-network, with a $2500 deductible. I have sleep apnea, requiring a CPAP machine, which I own. At our first visit, Dr. Ahdoot requested that I get a sleep study. I've had sleep apnea for around 10 years, and this is my third sleep study, and the second in two years ( I got one last year when I got out of the hospital in New Jersey). I have never paid a cent for a sleep study, because the sleep centers are always in-network. Dr. Ahdoot's sleep center, apparently, unlike him, is out-of-network. When I got the bill from Dr. Ahdoot's sleep center, he simply informed me that the technicians had to be paid. When my daughter had this problem with her doctor being out-of-network even though he had told her that he accepted her insurance, he simply absorbed the cost, and I feel that Dr. Ahdoot should have done this as well. I am switching sleep specialists, and will not be using Dr. Ahdoot again, but if you are considering a sleep study with Dr. Ahdoot, I recommend that you first ascertain whether or not the sleep center that he owns covers your sleep study. read more
