Had my exam with the doctor's wife. She was brusque and borderline rude. My appt started 45 minutes late and she neither apologized, greeted me, nor called me by name. I saw her with the last three patients and she kept gloves on the whole time. Don't think she changed them. While her assistant was great about cleaning the machines she used, the doctor wiped nothing down before having me use them. As we talked about my eye needs she kept the machine in front of my eyes, so to talk to her, sitting at her computer, I had to lean back and over to speak with her. After declaring my 50 year old eyes looked great and showed no signs of dryness, irritation or damage, on another machine that was suppose to measure eye health internally (for an extra $39) it kept glitching. And the conversation/mumbling that went on less than a foot away between doctor and assistant was about them not understanding why the machine was glitching, naming my too small pupils (???) and my dry eyes (???) as affecting the machine all said as if I wasn't sitting there. After 5 minutes of sitting at an awkward angle while the machine just kept recalibrating over and over again, I ended the appt. On a positive note, I left with much better contacts and will no longer need to use reading glasses!! Next time I will make sure my appt is with the husband. The ladies on the Target side of the office were absolute dolls. Super sweet. read more

I took my 11 year old to see Dr. Chan. This was our first time going to Target Optical so we were cautiously optimistic. Dr. Chan was very welcoming. I was using a new insurance so he was patient with me as I tried to figure out what my policy info was during check in. Yes, he is his own receptionist! During the visit he was extremely patient and understanding of my daughters feelings towards the exam. He made her feel comfortable to ask all her questions as this was a consultation for contacts. I've never left a review for a doctor of any sort but this guy was great. He was friendly, patient, informative and took his time but didn't take too long lol. He got both puffs in my eyes the first try, he told me to breathe and made me feel comfortable. I didn't expect much from a Target Optical center because who thinks of Target for these types of things? But my insurance is accepted here and it seemed I might as well try. I will be returning here just because of this positive eye exam experience. The girls in the front were nice as well and helped me figure out what the cost would be with a frame I chose. The best optometrist I've ever been to. Haven't had my eyes checked in about 5 years and needed new glasses. I made an appointment over the phone and showed up. He took me in about 10 minutes early and the whole exam took 15 minutes. He's super patient, friendly and easygoing. Very convenient that he's inside Target. As soon as I was done he just handed me the copy of the prescription and I went over to the optical store right there and ordered some glasses. My insurance covered about 90% of the total cost which was great. read more

I am so impressed with the care Dr. Chan gave me ! I haven't had a eye exam since middle school but recently my vision has become not normal from excessive computer use for work. Dr. Chan was super thorough and very kind ! Makes you feel very cared for - he truly wants to help you ! I was nervous that he would say my eyes aren't that bad and don't need glasses and would try to rush through the exam, but he tried several different tests and lenses and was able to find a combo that made letters clearer again ! I will also add that my eyes started to get super dry and he was kind enough to give me drops - and he also recommend that I must use eye drops 3-5 times a day because the computer is surely drying out my eyes and contributing to the problem - and he gave me a coupon for a brand he likes :) Thank you SO much for your great care and being so kind! read more

I'm coming in to get my eyes checked. Let's be specific, my left eye. I shy away from going to any type of doctor because I work with them and bedside manner means a lot to me. However, Dr. Chan has a very welcoming demeanor. He smiles when talking with you, and focuses his attention on the questions you have. I'm currently waiting my turn in line as I am a walk in with no appointment. He was very accommodating, and you can tell he clearly enjoys his job. The office space is very clean and aseptic. The chairs are a comfortable wait. The paperwork is very straight forward. It was my turn to be seen and Dr. Chan listened to all my concerns and did a super thorough assessment of my eye health. He explained everything in detail. The overall process was very quick and painless. The price was $80 out of Pocket (I'm cash paying, the do except insurance) for eye assessment and dilation. I first walked into Dr. Chan's office to ask about my sons clogged tear duct since birth. He offered a home remedy first to save me any exam fees which I thought was amazing and thoughtful. I then realized that I've been wanting to update my prescription since it's been 10 years and asked him if he could take me right then. I could tell he moved somethings around to accommodate me which I thought was super thoughtful once more and even called to handle my insurance as I had no idea who even covered me. I had my 8 month old son and he was ready for a nap and sick of shopping with me so Dr. Chan accepted my cart full of target items and my baby into his exam room. I held my baby the entire time and Dr. Chan was so patient and informative with me. We did the entire exam while I held my son and it was actually quite fun. He was very good at being descriptive during the test and answered all of my questions and addressed each concern. He put together a pair of "glasses" for me to test out and I was shocked that I could see so well! He is very down to earth with a great sense of humor and really Takes his time especially regarding my light sensitivity. My last 2 optical experiences were not that way. They were stuffy, sold me 3 different "lenses that I needed to have" but with Dr. Chan he provided me with one pair that could see far away, up close and I could instantly feel the straining go away that I do daily on my eyes. It was fast and efficient even with a baby and I cannot wait to see my reviews get him booked solid as every one should be taking care of their eye health and not dodging it because of pricing or stuffy drs. Now on to picking my frame... the girls were amazing! I was so overwhelmed with so many options and they first started suggesting what caught my eye. I started speaking out loud and next thing they were taking lenses out of sunglasses to put an idea of putting the prescription lenses in them. Boom found a pair! They even had an offer buy one, get on 50% off which I had my eye on a pair of Versace sunglasses so a win win! Trasi and I had the best one on one human convo on life and she touched me so deeply I left feeling so much gratitude and Kristi was so knowledgeable about every frame they carried and was able to read through my broken desires for frames and put together a fabulous fit.
