They're close to a bunch of hotels, and appear to do a good business with locals as well. This is the 2nd trip that I have visited them on, and on both occasions I have found them: busy, easy to get a seat at the large bar, less than warm and friendly, and a bit mediocre in the food department. I'm puzzled about what the draw is for locals, except for the fact that in seems to be a bit of a pickup spot for those early to middled aged Franklin divorced folks. Average, but good! In the area traveling for work.. this is a pretty good place to eat and watch the game. Bar area is large, so there is plenty of elbow room. Food is average, but good. Last night I left a review for a very disappointing experience at a different place....only because it received more stars than here....I think everyone has it wrong!!!! I had such a great experience here and the food was really good!! I am in town on business and am so tired that I don't venture far from the hotel. This restaurant is right behind the Aloft. I placed a "to-go" order at the bar and had a drink while I waited. The bartender was attentive and appreciative of the tip left. The beer was 2 for one which is great!! I ordered the chicken caesar to go and was shocked to find the chicken was placed on parchment paper to not make the lettuce soggy! The bread and dressing were put in separate containers each to not soak the lettuce or for the bread to not soak up the moisture. The to-go utensils were sturdy and did not break when you look at them! The food was very tasty! The only complaint was that the music was so loud the bartenders had a hard time hearing your order, which resulted in either screaming at each other or the customer leaning over the bar to get closer to the bartender. The bartenders all apologized when they couldn't hear you which again shows they are all about service! Great job to them!!! read more

This has been the worst experience in Nashville by far. We drove thirty minutes for a gluten free menu because my wife cannot eat gluten. We arrived at 9:40 pm and was promptly told the grill was closed, 2 hours and 20 minutes before the posted closing time. Bartender was pouring well drinks instead of what was ordered. I was extremely disappointed in my visit to Jonathan's. I have Celiac Disease, and they supposedly have good options for people like myself. Sure, they do - if you want to pay an arm and a leg for subpar food. They offer a gluten free crust on their pizzas and designate that it's an up-charge on the menu (which is a standard, expected practice), but what they don't tell you is the price of the crust is $16 on its own, and every single topping you put on is an extra fee (even just cheese). I paid $23 for an 8 inch pizza with cheese and sun-dried tomatoes that I could have made better and cheaper at home. The waitress did not even try to explain the pricing as I ordered, so we were shocked when we got the bill. After we questioned it, she acted as though it was common knowledge. This place is not worth the price and this was the last time I'll be visiting. As someone who has celiac disease and has enjoyed a lot of great, gf-friendly spots in the Nashville area, I can tell you that this is not the place to go for anyone needing to eat gluten free. read more

Looking for a place to eat on a Saturday night. Decided to give Jonathons a try. After reading a few reviews we started with the fried pickles. They were delicious. W weren't in a rush and our waitress was not pushing us. Drinks came fast and the service was amazing, especially considering how busy they were. For our main course I ordered the French dip sandwich, my husband got the prime rib/French dip type loaded sandwich, can't remember the name. We were debating between fries or chips, but our waitress kindly told us the chips were basically ruffles so we stuck with fries which were great. By far... the worst experience my family will (hopefully) ever experience. As we were eating our meals, the place seemed to turn into a night club. The music became so loud that I eventually asked if it was a club. We saw employees and managers drinking, and doing shots, then resuming service duties. A friend was so amused that they started video taping the manager drinking shots and turning up the music. (available if needed) The place itself is nice. After seeing the large menu and the fact they were open late my friend and I decided to give Jonathan's a shot. Unfortunately the food was absolutely horrible- almost inedible. The only reason I'm not giving 1 Star is because our waitress was very nice. I ordered buffalo chicken wing dip to start and when it came out it was almost as if they had just reheated someone else's order of it. It didn't even look good. It wasn't hot- just barely warm which was pretty ridiculous; you could tell it had either been sitting out or just wasn't cooked fresh. I tried a couple scoops bust honestly couldn't bring myself to eat it. The scoops that I did try you basically got a scoop of the barely warm reheated cheese mixture or a giant piece of a chicken that should've been cut up. Buffalo chicken wing dip is my favorite so I've eaten it countless of times at many many different places and this one was by far the absolute worst I have ever had. For entrees I ordered the white pizza & my friend ordered the black bean burger. Both again, horrible. The pizza was SO salty I could barely get through one piece. It really tasted like someone just dumped the salt shaker on it and it had no other flavor at all. It was also excessively greasy to where you couldn't even pick up a slice without grease just pouring everywhere. I was honestly shocked they even brought it out to the table in such a state. The pizza was basically soggy swimming in a puddle of grease. My friends black bean burger tasted like nothing and was totally charred she got down about half. Our total with a few drinks added in came to about $70 and In all we left about 90% of our food on the plate. It was pretty annoying to have to shell out that amount of money for a meal that was horrible. Will not be returning, would recommend anyone looking for a safe bet to have a good meal not take the chance either. read more

This is probably our favorite restaurant in the Cool Springs area. It's somewhat of a hidden gem but more and more people are finding it now. I think they have a total of 3 or 4 restaurants in the middle TN region. If you've never been here, definitely give it a try! It's presented as being a sports bar which is unfortunate. The atmosphere in the restaurant tends to be quite loud. I'm not a huge sports, pub type person. If you go on a weekend night, this is when it's probably loudest. If you're not into that scene, try them on a weekday night. :) Tuesday night is my favorite with their buy-one-get-one medium pizzas!! Try the Buffalo Chicken pizza... my fav! I can honestly say I've never had a bad item from their menu. They make everything fresh and to your order. I'm a pretty picky eater and I'm always satisfied here! They have a tremendous selection of food to choose from as well as beers. The only restaurant I've ever seen with a larger menu is Cheesecake Factory which pales in comparison to quality with Jonathan's! Another great thing is they will allow you to substitute just about anything and their top priority is satisfying the customer. You'll get great service, very reasonable prices, and outstanding food! Emily ( the server) was very rude. we had an incident where the workers were surrounded by a pile of throw up right next to our table, gagging and carrying on as we had just gotten our food and trying to eat. when trying to get some food taken off of our bill, due to not being able to finish it Since everyone was gagging about the vomit next to us, the manager was very rude and rushed talking to us. My friend and her boyfriends food was not discounted and they only had 1 slice of pizza. it was addressed to Emily and Emily snatched the receipt out of her hand. Also, emily did not come back to the table for atleast 20 min, we were gonna ask to move tables, seems as if they were all sitting in the back talking. we were offered to go boxes and the manager used that against us and said since we had to go boxes we didn't need it to be discounted, but we were offered, we didn't ask for the to go boxes. Not to mention, the manager had a bug on his shirt when he came and talked to us. Very displeased with the server and the Manager. seems as if this place is unsanitary . after the workers were carrying on about the vomit for a while, 20 Min later someone finally came and cleaned it up. Later on, Emily came back (being very rude) and said " i have been here all day and those cowokrers are my friends" and after talking to the gm she said Emily had only been there since 6. I made it into Jonathan's early-ish for me, around 8, which was early enough to not be able to order the happy hour pizza that is my standby. I branched out into the sandwich offerings, selecting "The Perfect Prime". It was one of the pricer sandwiches on the list, but shaved prime rib, locally baked jalapeno cheddar bread, creamy horseradish, mushrooms and red onions made it a sum I'd be willing to pay, again and again!
