Comfort food, tons of Banchans, amazing Ajumma service, and Ajussi in the bar is the most friendly uncle. I love the buy one get one drink special they have. Inside feels like a street food tent with tables so close you need to tuck your elbow and that's ok. It's authentically Asian this way. This is my go-to KBBQ. It's moderately priced for dinner. They don't offer as many meat choices, appetizers, and sides but if you're a meats person, this is all you need. I would recommend the LA galbi! Definitely not coming back here again. We tried this place because of all the rave reviews but what a disappointment. We order beef, pork and chicken. The beef and pork was really bad. They were very chewy. Tastes like really old meat. My whole family say the same thing, not sure why the meat tastes so bad. The spicy chicken was the only good one. The best kbbq restaurant! The "all you can eat" is a great deal for all the meat you can get, I always choose that option when I come to Jong Ga. Absolutely love the rice and lettuce wraps. And the cheese corn is a must. Food was so good I forgot to take photos. Service is a 10/10. The servers are constantly checking in to replace the grill and are quick to bring out food as you order. The waitlist is usually long but it's absolutely worth it and once you're seated, food comes out quickly. The restaurant appears small from the outside but there is lots of seating at booths and tables inside. It is very loud and busy inside as almost every kbbq place is. It looked like there was another seating area that was for people who were not eating AYCE. The menu is pretty basic. You have your side, stews, rices, and all the meats like bugulgi, brisket, steak, pork belly, and short ribs. The service was not the best here. We constantly had to flag down our server. Water was never refilled until we asked. It was around $33 an adult for dinner. They do have a birthday special here. They were able to accommodate all of us! Food: I didn't really know what to expect expect that there would be a lot of meat. But boy this place did NOT disappoint. Not only was there an abundance of meat but they have so many different options for sides. One word: CORN CHEESE. Don't sleep on it. Just order it. The best meat for me were their brisket and pork belly. You can order 4 meats at a time. Service: Fantastic! At first it took a second for the first server to take out order but once we got cooking, the orders kept flowing. Once your grill is burnt, they will promptly replace it with a new one. We had multiple people come by to check on us and everyone was friendly and quick with their service. It truly feels like eating with your family. Ambiance: Overall its a decently big place but was quite packed on a Friday night, and deservedly so! Drinks: They have very basic spirits, soju, soju cocktails and beer. Ordered seafood pancake, 2 lunch specials which came with a meat and a soup; bulgogi with sun soft soup and galbi with cold buckwheat noodle soup. Quantity of meat was very small, so if you are big on meat don't do the a la carte option. Flavors of the dishes were okay, nothing exceptionally good or bad. Side dishes were normal. I think I would want to try the AYCE here next time since the other tables that came in all asked for AYCE. $29.99 happy hour AYCE 9-11pm??? Now that's a price that you can't beat in the Bay Area. Even the dinner price is 32.99 before the happy hour, and that's not even that bad at all! I was craving some KBBQ and wanted to venture out to the East Bay so took the drive to Oakland to come to Jong Ga. I joined the waitlist via Yelp so timed it with my ETA and got seated within 10 minutes when I arrived. I loved the decor; it felt more authentic compared to other AYCE KBBQ locations that try to look like a club **COUGH IYK IYK** There's a good amount of meat selections and within each selection, there's different marinades. For example, the pork belly had 2-3 types of marinades to choose from (regular, garlic, or miso). I loved their LA style short ribs. It had the right level of marinade and tenderness. The pork belly was very thin, which I really like so I can crisp up and pair with radish wraps. I personally didn't really like their brisket as it was a bit rough and I tend to like my brisket more on the fatty side. However, they did have a very solid choice of meats along with seafood considering the price point. I looooveee that they had corn cheese as an option so had to order that!! The staff is very friendly and quick. Most of the time, they visited our table to check in to see if we wanted to order more items or do a grill change. This is probably the thickest cut (and bloodiest) cut of bulgogi I've ever seen at a kbbq joint. The plate was overflowing with blood and spilled over onto the table. Did the servers care? Not at all. Service here is very chill lol they yelled over to me from halfway across the room to ask what I wanted and I just yelled back lmao.
