Love the food! I've been at this place many times. I think there were changes of ownership since I went when I was in college back in 2010 but the food is still just as good! I got the jajang myun jamppong half and half with tangsuyuk and it really hit the spot. The jamppong might be one of my favorite highlights for how spicy it was! Enjoyed it very much!

My friend and I were hanging out nearby and she was craving jajangmyeong. We looked up some restaurants in the area and decided to head here. We found parking on a side street, their lot is quite small and is shared with many other restaurants. We were seated right away and as soon as we sat down, the restaurant started filling up and people were lining up to get in. Guess we got there at the right time! My friend and I both ordered jajangmyeong and shared a plate of tteokboki. Honestly the jajangmyeong's one of the best I've had and it was very reasonably priced! The tteokboki was good too, just a little spicy but not too bad. My friend enjoyed her jajangmyeong so much, she ordered a second one to go. Service was quick, food came out quick and was piping hot. Inside is pretty small, but it is expensive to lease a restaurant on this street.

The food here is terrific!! We had the tteokbokki, black bean noodles, and seafood noodles. All were delicious. The tteokbokki was not too sweet or too spicy. And both noodle dishes were fresh. The service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend. Looking forward to returning.

I decided to get delivery for Gangnam Jajang as I was craving ja-jang myeon and saw positive reviews for this spot. I ordered the ja-jang myeon, spicy rice cake and yuja ade. It only took roughly 15-20 minutes for the order to arrive and it came hot and fresh. Starting with the ja-jang myeon, it's so satisfying being able to mix in the sauce with the noodles. The black bean sauce is both salty, savory with a hint of sweetness coming through. The texture is thick and perfect which hugs the noodles with every bite. It also has a good balance of the veggies in the sauce as well. It is definitely very filling! The spicy rice cakes were soaked in a sweet and spicy sauce, with sautéed cabbage and peas. The flavors were really addicting and kept me coming back for more. The rice cakes were both delicate and chewy. Eating this dish alongside the pickled radish and onion cut through the richness of the dish. Lastly, I tried the yuja ade and was pleasantly surprised! I will say that it is very sweet, if you do prefer it to be sweeter instead of tart. At the bottom of the cup are these yummy almost candy-like yuja slices that practically melted with each sip. I'm so glad I decided to try it! Overall, the portion sizes are pretty big for the value! I was able to stretch the food across a few meals. I will definitely be eating here again!

Great service. Love the Korean chicken here and their Jajang noodles are really the standout. Tried their rice cakes which were spicy but good. The sautéed jajang was really good also. The cheese and onion fries are sweet so I wouldn't order the again but it was interesting to try. We also got their mapo tofu. It's different than the Chinese style but the taste was good - we ate all the tofu. Overall I still prefer the regular jajang noodles. But worth it to try the stir fried one. It had shrimp, squid, and octopus.

One of my many stops when in the East Bay. Went to Gangnam Jajamen on Telegraph and enjoyed the meal! I got the half jajamen, japong tang mak su, and Amangchu (mango in peach iced tea). My favorite was the japong, it hits with the spicy soup and chewy noodles. Everything was flavorful and satisfying.

This place is great. Lots of locals visit it for lunch and dinner everyday. I really really like their honey cheese fried chicken - they were nice to get me a few extra pieces when the wings were kinda small. But the flavor is super duper good.

As a food connoisseur, there's many places in the Bay Area that do the black noodles well, by far this place is the best. Also the fried pork is super crispy and very good every time. Also the late night food is fantastic too.

Loved the half and half jampong and jajangmyeon. Just perfect for sharing! Tteobokki was also very delicious

    half jjajangmyeon half jjamppong

The tangsuyuk was my favorite-so crispy and the sauce was delicious. I got half jjajangmyun half jjamppong and both were great-my personal fav is the jjamppong because i like spicy. The service and vibes inside the restaurant are good. The parking is a bit limited, so keep that in mind.

This is the perfect place to hit up if you're like me and experience intense, borderline violent jajangmyeon cravings. Sometimes you just need a big, comforting bowl of chewy noodles covered in rich black bean sauce, and this spot absolutely delivers. Their jajangmyeon is done just right. The sauce is savory, hearty, and satisfying without feeling too heavy, and the noodles have that perfect chewy texture that makes the whole dish so comforting. The portion size is also massive, so you could definitely share one order between two people--although I completely understand wanting one all to yourself. I also tried their fried chicken, which was decent, but it wasn't the standout for me. It was fine as a side, but compared to the noodles, it didn't feel like something I'd go out of my way to order again. Next time, I'd probably skip the chicken and focus on what they're clearly known for: their noodle dishes. Overall, this is a great spot when you're craving classic, satisfying Korean comfort food. I'd definitely come back for the jajangmyeon and would recommend it to anyone looking for a generous, flavorful bowl of noodles.

The jjamppong and sweet & sour pork were both delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the pork stayed crispy even with the sauce. Definitely coming back!

I remember enjoying the jajang from here and recently ordered some jampong. Recall noticing that the clientele and looked pretty young (think college students). I was shocked when I saw half a crab and a giant prawn, along with the standard mussels and squid, all in my bowl of under $20 noodles!! Then I started eating and realized how this place is adding such "fancy" seafood to their jampong....they're using low quality product. Crab tasted off and was real dark in spots, prawn was mushy in texture and almost bitter, there were also unopened (spoiled) mussels. I don't need all that "higher end" seafood in my everyday jampong. This dish would be much better if they nix the crab and use higher quality regular sized prawns, mussels and squid. If you're going to do it up, do it right with high quality seafood and I'll easily pay double for it (someone in the bay should really do that!!).

The waiter saw how much we loved the dip and brought us another one to use for our rice. Big shout out to her! The chicken wings were okay. Not that spicy for me (I have a high spice tolerance) but I expected them to be more savory. They were cooked very well though. I would give it a 3/5 Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with my main which was the crispy whole dried fish. I am a sucker for whole fish dishes so I was pretty excited and expectant for something spectacular. The fish itself was bland. It was very crispy and cooked well but not really seasoned. I had thought the sauce they serve with it was intended to impart flavor on the fish, but the sauce was just very tangy and not flavorful. I did finish the fish though but it's not something I would get again. Overall a 2.5/5. Their coconut rice was good though I was expecting more of a coconut flavor with it. I would rate that a 4/5. It was cooked very well. I think this is a really nice place though, perhaps I just did not order the right or more popular dishes. I'll be coming back for the ROTI WITH DIP (It was that good) and to try the other items in their menu.

The restaurant is really big and we sat at a table for 14 pretty comfortably. We were also here on a Saturday night and the restaurant was full. The service is your typical Chinese restaurant vibe where you leave a little bit emotionally abused after paying for overly priced menu items. We did the à la cart and easily spent up to $1500. Better off with the family plan meal but nothing was of interest to us except one or two dishes. It took forever to come out and I mean FOREVER to a point where we almost cancelled a few dishes and called it a night, but they kept saying it's being made. With as many people and as massive as the restaurant was, and the price tags, I was expecting a more efficient service. A couple of times we saw our dish being brought to the wrong table and the people going "oh we didn't order this." With all of that out of the way, I am giving them an average score of 3 starts because the food did bring them back up. It was actually really good. My favorite of all things we ordered was their sea bass with string beans. The sea bass was fried crispy, garnished salty and still soft inside. It paired really well with the string beans. We ordered a bunch of other things that I couldn't tell you what the name was in English and they were above average taste wise. Their complimentary dessert however, was mass produced and tasted like they added too much water to it. This was the only one I was disappointed in. To be honest, Fusion used to be terrible, and I used to absolutely hate coming here. Food was slow in coming, what came out was often cold, the dining room was loud, and service was impersonal, at best. On one visit, half the menu was unavailable, requested silverware was crooked, and numerous glasses, bowls, and plates were chipped or damaged. On another visit, I saw multiple families sneak out of the restaurant, walk to McDonald's across the plaza, and smuggle food back in to tide them over until their orders came. After a while, I wasn't alone in meeting the decree of, "come to Fusion on Saturday," with a groan. However, when HL Peninsula opened in Castro Valley and established itself as a threat to Fusion's business, it served as a wake-up call. Food immediately got better (from "below-average" to "know what to order and you'll be fine"), the speed of service improved, and food temperature became consistent and proper. It's not QUITE a "different restaurant" feel, and there are still some negatives. It's still loud and service could still be better (there have been times where chicken wings have taken over an hour to come out, which is a "should not occur"). However, at least I don't dread coming here anymore.
