Everything tasted fresh and well-prepped, and the sides were just as good--so many to choose from and all delicious. The price felt more than fair for the amount and quality of food, and they've got some solid drink deals too, which was a nice bonus. This was not my first visit to Jong Ga House, and it is most certainly not my last. I frequent Jong Ga House when I'm craving korean bbq that reminds me of home. I have celebrated several birthdays amongst my friends here because it is perfect for large groups and they even throw in a birthday discount ($22.99 for the birthday person), two scoops of ice cream, and they play happy birthday through the speakers across the restaurant! They never fail to provide excellent, attentive service as well as authentic Korean bbq that keeps you wanting more. This is also one of the more affordable all you can eat (AYCE) kbbq spots in the East Bay. Lunch & happy hour (9pm-11pm) is $29.99/person and dinner is only $32.99. Compared to other spots that charge nearly $50/person and often have slower service or marinades that don't quite capture traditional Korean flavors, Jong Ga House knocks it out of the park in every category. I especially love that they offer Mul Naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodle soup) and bibim naengmyeon (spicy buckwheat noodles) on the AYCE menu. These noodle dishes pair perfectly with freshly grilled Kalbi, so it is always a delight to be able to order one of these with my meal here. Mul Naengmyeon is always served with a side of hot mustard and vinegar to mix in to taste. It is such a refreshing dish that brightens your whole meal, make it as spicy or as sour as you want! Pro Tip: Be sure to cut your noodles into smaller pieces, they are super-duper chewy! Everything here is an absolute hit, but you have to try their Kimchi Pancake, Caramelized Fried potatoes, and, of course, the corn cheese! (Usually I order one of each per 2 people) You don't have to worry about filling up too fast on the sides--the portion sizes are thoughtful, and you can always let them know if your table wants more or less of a serving. In addition to their banchan (complimentary side dishes that you can refill at most Korean restaurants), they also offer Booricha (roasted barley tea) which helps to cut the grease of some richer meats, like pork belly and intestine. Beyond the food, the stellar service has kept me coming back. During one of my first visits, I came with a party of eight, and one of our friends was vegetarian. The staff kindly let her order from the regular menu while the rest of us enjoyed the AYCE KBBQ + hotpot combo. (FYI: the hotpot add-on is available for parties of 5+ for just $10 more.) They serve traditional lettuce on any meal just ask and it comes with sliced garlic and gochujang paste and all the ban chan bottomless little plate for the day ! Bbq grill or they cook for you. First off, When they bring out the sauce bowls and the banchan, everything was stacked on top of each other and so the food was touching the bottom of the dish on top of it which I believe can not be that sanitary. Second, the meat quality was not worth the price at all... the meat was super pink, did not look like beef tbh... and when cooked, had a super grainy texture. The galbi did not even look like or taste like galbi. Third, the rice paper we got, we found mold in. I had already ate a few sheets and then when I peel off my next one, found mold... Extremely disappointing birthday experience I came here to celebrate my birthday with my birthday cake and was expecting a fun Korean BBQ dinner. Instead, the way I was treated--especially by our server, Eddie--completely ruined the celebration. I celebrate my birthday according to the Chinese lunar calendar. When I asked about the birthday discount, Eddie refused to honor it because my Chinese birthday apparently did not count as a valid birthday. I understand that restaurants can have rules for promotions, but the issue was not just the discount. It was the dismissive and indifferent attitude that came with it. I found the whole interaction disrespectful. I had my birthday cake sitting right there, and I was clearly there to celebrate my birthday. Rather than explaining the policy with basic courtesy, Eddie made me feel like my birthday and the cultural tradition behind it were not legitimate. As a Chinese customer, I found that especially upsetting. A Chinese lunar-calendar birthday is still a birthday. If the restaurant has a strict policy requiring a government ID or only recognizes the Gregorian calendar for its promotion, then state that clearly. There is absolutely no reason to make a customer feel belittled over a cultural difference. The service throughout the meal also felt cold, unfriendly, and indifferent. There was no effort to make the situation better or even acknowledge how poorly it was handled. What should have been a happy birthday dinner ended with me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I'm not upset over a discount. I'm upset over how I was treated. There is a big difference between politely saying, "Unfortunately, our promotion only applies to the birthday listed on your ID," and treating someone's cultural tradition like it is not real. Management should seriously address how Eddie and the staff handle situations like this. Customers from different cultural backgrounds deserve the same basic respect as everyone else. Great all you can eat Korean cuisine. The restaurant has a bar to satisfy any ones thirst. It's a medium noise level restaurant where friends and family gather to eat and talk. The tables looked clean and the service was great. The only knock I'll have is that I love to cook my meat at night temperature, I love to get the meat to a nice chard. I adjusted the heat level a few times and they kept adjusting the temp down each time. The meat seasoning, taste, flavor is pretty much dead on what I expected. Walked in and the first thing that hit was the place smelled old and dirty. At 5pm there was in two other tables, total of 6 people between the two, we were a group of 4. Customer service was very lacking. Waitress did not ask if we wanted any drinks (lost out on a big profit maker, especially with some in our group who were not driving) , the water was warm, had to call them over to ask for more food for the all we can eat and again to refill our water (still warm). The rib steaks were frozen solid and did not come apart until the frozen mass was on the grill a few minutes. Had to ask for grill changes. The only good things on this trip was the chicken and short ribs. Most everything else was meh, below average. Overall a very disappointing dining experience. I do not plan on returning. read more

I was a huge fan of the brisket, which I find dry and chewy at other places but it was nice and fatty here. I've also never been a fan of pork belly but I loved it here, especially dipped in their brisket sauce. The kimchi here is one of the best I've had and the potato banchan had a good texture.
