Service was swift and attentive; cooking was efficient and a noodle dish was divided quickly. Beef small intestine was lacking a little in flavor, while the brisket and other veg elements were well grilled.

Wonderful experience for us. Great food, service and price. They have two sets of menu the unlimited korean bbq $38 something and meal seat $9.99. We took the unlimited. Ample space between tables. Highchair and koala kare seen. Accepts credit/debit. Clean restroom. You can split the bill into max 3. See images for reference.

Jongro BBQ is fun. The staff are kind and efficient. The meats are delicious. Around $50 a head on peak hours for 90 minutes (but they were not on us about time, a server simply asked what we wanted to our last round after four offerings). We sat upstairs with a Saturday night reservation (there was a wait otherwise). Super fun! And there's a good Korean Beauty Supply and book store next door.

Jongro on the second floor opens and fills up quickly, it is very popular. We got a large beef platter, a bibimbap, of course banchan and all the sides, spicy squid, korean cold noodles, and a seafood pancake. It actually ended up being a bit too much food for 4 people. The tables have limited spaces- they bring a complimentary cheese and corn and a hot egg bowl. That was a nice touch. The BBQ area is quite big in the center and takes up majority of the table- can also make your clothes and hair smell when you leave. The squid was excellent- came with veggies and shrimp and pork. Seafood pancake in my personal opinion was just OK, but everyone else thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff here handle all the cooking and distribution of food and plates. The banchan is limited- pickled radish, scallion salad, kimchi and pickled onion. The meat and it's quality was decent, the large platter had so much food! The bibimbap I also thought was just OK. The cold noodles were excellent. Overall we had a great experience here.

Man this place was so good! Went with a large group for dinner and ordered everything from the beef menu and also had tofu soup, corn cheese, and steamed eggs. The staff was incredibly polite and offered the table a pair of sake bottles to boot. The apple-flavored sake was the best and I also had two spicy yuzu margaritas. Would definitely come back again!

Great meat quality and side dishes! Service was ok, definitely a busy spot! Definitely recommend for Ktown Korean bbq, casual yet good

Half of the combo platter cooked and distributed along the edges. The server cut the ribeye after.

I've been coming to Jongro since 2015 and it has consistently been a top tier KBBQ spot. Even after all these years that I haven't been back to NY, it has not fallen off one bit. I came here recently with family for an early bday celebration for my mom and the food was excellent. Quality beef with decent portions and the staff help you cook in sequence with non-marinated meats followed by marinated meats with a different grill that they change for you accordingly depending on what you order. I prefer ordering the marinated beef options, but the ribeye, kalbi, and the salchi cut are the best and you can't really go wrong with any of their meats. As like every other KBBQ restaurants, you get loads of banchan and can get refills on them. When we ordered our beef platter, it also came with a small soup to share as well as egg soufflé and cheese corn! This place is always busy during Fri/Saturday dinner and the only annoying thing is that you can only access the restaurant via the elevator which can be super busy at times. The restaurant itself is very lively and while we were there, there must have been 4 birthday celebrations in our section. They flicker the lights and turn up the music so it's definitely a fun vibe for a night out! The staff were very attentive and came to check on us frequently in between cooking for us, but not to the point where it felt overbearing and rushed. Overall, I'd recommend checking this place out even if it is a bit pricey compared to AYCE options since the quality is much better so you get what you pay for. They even have a separate AYCE location nearby as well and a separate floor within the same building as the OG Jongro for gopchang. Come hungry with some friends/family and you'll have a great time!

This is an incredible lunch deal. We went at 1pm and there was plenty of seats. You get a main and a couple dies for $9.99. I went with 2 other friends and we got to try the tteokbokki (rose), kimchi & scallions pancakes, and the soft tofu stew. We really liked the tteobokki, although the dish got cold pretty quick and the rice cakes got too chewy. The stew was nice and warm on a cold day. It was too much food so we took half the pancake and reheat it later for dinner. Definitely an amazing place to go for their lunch deal.

Meal was relatively blend and just meh overall. Price was great for a lunch special though, but still wouldn't come back. Good if you're very close in the area, otherwise there are much better spots nearby.

This place looks cool as heck but it's not ayce-not sure of the other reviews that said it was. Unfortunately since I was looking for that specifically I had to head to their 39 w 32 st location to get it. But they were super cool and you can almost miss it as you have to head into a building and take the elevator up.

They don't take reservations for like under 8? We had 6 people and luckily were able to get seated around dinner time for a walk-in. The place is located on the 2nd floor and the elevator is really slow/small....I couldn't find the stairs. I would have much rather taken the stairs.. They also have coat check (tip is optional). The kbbq is decent and prices are reasonable. The beef was very flavorful but a little rough to chew. I would not recommend the pork belly- really dry. There are just so much kbbq places in the area...considering it's ktown. For the quality and price - this place is good. Ambiance is nice.

On a cold winter night, there's nothing better than Korean BBQ grilled right at the table. The service is amazing, attentive and efficient. and the food is excellent. The vibe is young and energetic, with a setup that feels like an outdoor Korean market, almost like a little village. It's such a fun atmosphere. We had both marinated and unmarinated beef, and the quality was outstanding. And that tableside egg dish... oh my god, nothing like it. Pure comfort and flavor. How can something that starts liquidy become something so velvety definitely need to come back

Large beef platter with hanger steak and spicy tofu soup
    Emma N.

We ordered the large beef platter with hanger steak and spicy tofu stew. My favorite meats were the prime ribeye and the hanger steak, which were super tender and juicy and tasted delicious with salt and the sauces. I also liked how the corn cheese tasted and the egg on the side. The service was excellent--the workers were very attentive at cooking the meats and checking on everything. Overall, it was a great experience in a lovely atmosphere, although the price was quite steep, especially since it wasn't AYCE.

Is anyone having an issue reaching them to make a reservation?

    They don't take reservations.

Do they accept walk ins on Wednesdays? Because I'm going with two other friends so I can't make a reservation.

They always accept walk-ins. The weekends get busy so that's when a reservation is good; with reservations the whole party has to be in attendance to be seated.

Do you have to line up to get in the waiting list for a table when it's very busy?

You can give them your name and phone number, then they will contact you when a table is ready!

Anyone tried the marinated Tenderloin? How is it? Was there plenty of meat pieces?

If the name of the meat is kalbi; it was delicious. I enjoyed it more than the pork belly. It was a group of five of us and we were full but we ordered the kalbi twice and pork belly once, with a kimchi pancake and rounds of suju each of us paid $45… Read more

Can we do Korean bbq during lunch time?

Yeah, the grilling service actually better cause there are more attentive waiters. You miss out on the free steam egg and night vibes though.

What is the average price per person for dinner and one drink?

It depends on the platter that you choose or if you order a la carte. I would definitely estimate $50 - $80 depending on the dishes and drinks ordered. I've been with a group of 4 with a total bill of approximately $250

    Do you serve halal meat?

They serve seafood and pork at this establishment. While the other meat is not bloody, I doubt it is halal and no distinction is made on the menu. All of that points to confidently answering this with a No.

    Do they accept solo diners?

I'm not sure but I don't see why not. They have smaller tables.

[Edit: Went today and they said it's only available after 5pm. I couldn't even order it by paying so yeah, go after 5 if you want it] Is the egg souffle free for all tables? If not can I order separately?

We ordered separately. I do not believe it was free, but it was so yummy

    Do they take reservations?

    Yes!

    Are they open on thanksgiving?

    Yes

    Is the meat halal?

    I don't think so.

    Do they have outdoor dining?

Hi. My friend & I used to love this restaurant but it seems they do have poor customer service due to short of staff, that being said, the meat get burned because servers are so busy flipping from one table to the other. I do personally suggest to… Read more

Do they have parking lot for customers?

No, parking for customers but there should be a public parking around the area

    Is the meat halal?

I'm not sure! But I'm sure if you call the restaurant they will let you know!

    Does this restaurant take reservations?

Only from Sunday to Thursday for parties 6-8

    Is there AC inside?

    Yes

    Are tables distanced?

If I recall, there are clear partitions between tables.

Do we cook it ourself or get too?

The effortless tranquility encourages you to slow down, enjoy the food, and get away from the everyday, hubbub. Their menu leans into fusion dishes with a nod to some of the classic home-style classics. Everything is presented with a refined, elevated touch. Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With its casual bougie aesthetics, this spot has quickly become one of my favorite eateries in Fort Lee-lee, It beautifully blends Korean, Japanese, and American flavors in a way that feels both comforting and elevated. Needless to say, we will be back!

We walked into a stylish but relaxed space that feels suited for both casual dinners and a night out with friends, with an atmosphere that balances energy and comfort well. The room gets lively when it fills up, but the noise level adds to the experience rather than detracting from it, making it feel like a place built for sharing and conversation. The food is where Hojokban stands out. The complimentary banchan sets the tone for the meal with flavorful sides that add variety before the main dishes arrive, each one thoughtfully prepared and offering a different texture or flavor profile. The gomtang soup is one of the more comforting options, bringing together tender meat, a rich broth, and classic Korean flavors in a way that feels hearty without being overly heavy. The galbi dishes are also a highlight, with the meat cooked well and carrying the sweet and savory balance that makes Korean-style grilled beef so enjoyable. The portions are generous, and the quality of the ingredients is noticeable across the board. The menu has several unique dishes worth exploring. The truffle potato pancake is one of the more memorable items, combining a familiar Korean staple with a richer, modern twist that adds depth without losing the essence of the original. The perilla oil noodles are another standout, offering a lighter but still flavorful option with a distinct nutty aroma that lingers on the palate. The beef tartare adds a more refined element to the meal, fresh and well seasoned, while dishes like the ramyun fried rice bring a fun comfort food element with bold, savory flavors. Together, the menu covers enough ground that you can build a meal around both familiar favorites and more creative choices. Service is friendly and the overall experience feels welcoming rather than overly formal. The staff are attentive without hovering, and they handle the busy flow of the restaurant with a pace that keeps the meal moving without feeling rushed. The menu is designed for sharing, and the portions make it easy to order several dishes across the table, allowing you to try more of what the kitchen has to offer. The lively atmosphere adds to the meal, making it a good fit for group dinners where the energy of the room matches the pace of the food. Hojokban does a good job blending traditional Korean flavors with a more modern dining experience. It is a place where you can come for familiar comfort food while still finding dishes that feel creative and different. If you enjoy Korean cuisine and want a restaurant with a little more personality, this is a spot worth checking out. It delivers a meal that feels both familiar and fresh, striking a balance that makes it easy to return to and explore more of the menu.

The servers kept things moving but with very minimal interference and no extra visits; we would have liked a little more attention when we finished some of the banchan and kind of expected they would be replenished, but we certainly were fine without it. And the entrees were delicious and even with other tables almost on top of each other it never felt crowded due to partitions that I saw them remove for some larger groups needing tables "together", and I never felt part of someone else's dinner convo. Presentation was amazing and food was delicious - Soon Tofu Soup with seafood for me, which arrived bubbling like a cauldron. It came with a raw egg that you crack into the soup and let it cook to your level of doneness. Hubs got hot stone bibimbap and as we all know the crispy rice is the best part of it... it's just tough to separate it from the actual stone dish so you can eat it, especially if you wait until it cools and fuses. If I was there with more stomach space I wanted to try the galbi, and in fact there's a weekday lunch combo that could facilitate that.

They advertised themselves as having the best katsu in NYC and they may just be right. With our order it came with a bunch of side dishes. Kimchi, Marconi salad, and mashed potatoes, and others. They were all good. Food came out pretty quick as well. Don't think we waited too long for anything. After we were done they gave us some ice cream. I would absolutely love to come back here again for lunch and probably will.

The Ssambap Set was incredibly satisfying. The beef was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the fresh lettuce wraps, rice, banchan, and soup. Every bite was well-balanced and packed with flavor. We also ordered the Mixed Katsu Set, which was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and cooked to perfection. It came with generous portions and made for a comforting, filling meal. The restaurant has a modern and welcoming atmosphere, the staff was friendly and attentive, and everything arrived fresh and beautifully presented. If you're looking for a delicious Korean lunch in NYC's Koreatown, Jeong Yuk Jeom is definitely worth a visit. I'll be coming back to try more of their menu!

The galbi-jjim was perfectly tender like I could literally pull it apart with my chopstick. The addition of the rice cake, pumpkin, and pyogo mushroom were a nice touch. The soy sauce base was a little sweet and if you take a bit and pour it over the mushroom sotbap, it is soooooooo good!!!!!!! The mushroom sotbap is so umami. There is foie gras in it which maybe be in a little overpowering for some people but I really enjoyed it I could easily eat a whole bowl of their freshly made kimchi. It was perfect. Not too salty or spicy or fermented. Literally perfect!!! I actually asked for seconds. The cold cucumber broth was really refreshing Highly, highly recommend making a resy!! There were just a couple of things that kept this from being a full 5 stars. My 5 year old was required to order an entrée. We were planning to order one anyway, but I still found it a bit unusual. I also requested a birthday candle with dessert for our celebration when I made a reservation, but unfortunately the request wasn't acknowledged. Despite those minor disappointments, we had a wonderful experience. The food and service really stood out, and I would definitely bring visiting friends and family here. I'd happily return again 4.5/5.
