We interviewed a few local d.j. / entertainment groups and by far Jordan River Entertainment was the best for a variety of reasons. My then fiance and I met with Jordan (the founder of Jordan River Entertainment) at his office in South San Jose. The office's ambiance is welcoming, professional and clean. We were able to sit with Jordan to discuss our music needs for our wedding. Jordan shared with us videos (that had music) of weddings he worked previously. These videos were top quality with great music. He carefully listened to what our needs as a couple were- ie the kind of music we liked, our budget, what kind of ambiance through music we wanted to create the 'atmosphere' of our wedding. In addition to our recording via video camera, Jordan offered an add-in to record the ceremony on my iPhone secured in a special camera frame. It was amazing having this, not only were we able to relive our special day before we left on our honeymoon, but I have a way to see it and shows others that I always have with me. At the wedding, Jordan was friendly and professional. During cocktail hour, he interviewed our guests and captured some sweet and some funny moments. The thing about having a portfolio is you need to make sure you update it from time to time. Having previously done that in the past I thought it was time to do so. Jordan River has quite a reputation that is worth the quality. Jordan took astounding professional photos for our website, LinkedIn... It's really hard for me to get a good pic. But there were soooo many fantastic shots to choose from, it was a difficult decision. I had shopped around quite a bit, and Jordan was in the mid-price range (I got quotes for $120-$350 per sitting, with limited end-product delivery of final touched up files, with some only taking a few shots). Jordan planned for time to make a change of clothes and hair (up vs down), and made me feel very comfortable--even fun! He gave me ALL the high rez photos, asked me to find 5 or so that I loved, and he'd touch them up for final delivery. I am delighted! while jordan did a great job with the wedding, we were a bit disapointed that jordan didn't play songs that we wanted. we even had to ask him to find the songs that we gave him list to. otherwise the rest was good, we mentioned that we didn't have a garter toss before the wedding, and there wasn't going to be a mother son dance, but there was an announcement for it. we even found out that a song that was requested by a guest was played, but most of what we wanted was not played. there were music that we just didn't hear that we took over 5-6 hours to search and give links for. its just a shame that it was not played. read more

This man truly made our wedding reception fantastic. He wasn't a DJ--he was a wedding emcee, and he devoted himself wholly to playing the best music and guiding the flow of energy to make sure that everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. He didn't confine himself to the traditional 4hr/6hr pay increments: he said he was ours for the entire reception. Prior to the event, Jordan met with my husband and me at his home for a consultation. We defined our musical preferences and also let him know which songs never to play--both of which he respected. At the event itself, he was truly chivalrous. When my bridesmaids arrived at the reception and were melting in the heat, he made sure they had a chance to get water and chill for a moment. He passed out play guitars and glow necklaces to my little cousins so they'd be occupied as they danced away the time. I recently worked with Jordan on a project for work. He was very knowledgeable on all of the equipment that was used at the venue. I was able to put him in touch with the IT team and he was beyond helpful in answering their questions on what type of microphones, lighting etc that we needed for the shoot. Jordan DJ'd my wedding in July 2011. He was recommended to me by a colleague at work who said he's saw Jordan get a bunch of older people kicking it on the dance floor. Jordan was really wonderful on the day of as master of ceremonies. The music selection was good and got everyone out there dancing. The best part was for our semi-final dance he played obla di obla da by the beatles and got all of the guests to do a litle dance around us. It was a really special moment that I will never forget. He also hooked us up with a blue grass duo who played during the ceremony and cocktail hour. The duo was fantastic as well. Jordan also videoed our wedding. We had an unfortunate incident with another videographer two days before a huge memorial service, and Jordan River was able to save the day! He was pleasant, understanding, and extremely professional - as was Christine, the woman who handled taping the service. She did an outstanding job. Not only did she tape the event, but she also discretely circulated afterward to capture the memories and thoughts of those who were not able to speak during the service. Jordan is AMAZING. I can't stop telling people what a difference he made for my wedding. My husband and I got married at the County Clerk's office in Santa Clara, and it was a very simple affair; picture getting married at a window similar to those at the DMV with only one friend there. Aaron was very professional and also very helpful in helping me make the party happen. Jordan is a great photographer. We hired him for our wedding in the Bay Area. He met with us, introduced himself, took a lot of pre wedding fotos. During the ceremony he recorded videos and even played songs for us. After the ceremony he took my wife and I to several different locations in the city to continue taking fotos. The photography and DJ service for my wedding was great, no complaints. However, we ordered an expensive wedding album which left a very sour taste in our my mouths! The design process lacked design effort (duplicate photos, not chronological, not receptive to my requests for corrections, etc) and there was no urgency on timeliness whatsoever as we had paid in full in advance. It took nearly seven months!!!...and that was only because I complained and whined a lot, including calling the printer of the book direct to confirm delivery timing otherwise it very well would have been longer. At the end, Jordan was refusing to provide direct updates to me, rather contacting my husband when all communications prior were with me (needless to say my husband told him multiple times he needed to update me, not him as he did not want to be in the middle). All I wanted was the book and it became a childish game. No complaints on the book itself but would not recommend this process to anyone else as it was a headache and draining, and ultimately became the most frustrating part of my wedding experience which my actual wedding experience was better than imagined. I wish I would of stopped my services at photography and DJ only, and not ordered the photo book. The photography and DJ services were good though which is why I rate them three stars. read more
