Having had horrible experiences with out-of-town florists who charge for a large bouquet of roses etc. and then deliver a smallish one of carnations, I am always very specific about what kind of flowers I send. I cannot say enough about Jory's. I was on a very tight budget for my wedding back in 2010 and met Jory's to discuss my options. I had a VERY specific idea in mind and didn't think I would be able to afford it and if so, they would not be as good of quality as I wanted. Jory's worked with me and my budget and also offered to deliver to both my home and venue for an extremely low price. On the day of my wedding, they delivered on time and the white roses were beautiful. Perfect. I could not have been happier. In 2011, I ordered a flower bouquet for my mothers birthday. They delivered to her work and the flowers were vibrant! (They were tulips) Now, in 2012 my best friend since childhood became engaged. I was asked to be her maid of honor and the first thing that came to mind was JORY's for her bridal shower! The bridal shower was this past weekend and again, could not have been happier with the customer service and quality of flowers. I worked with the owner Don, who I probably called every few weeks to make a change with nothing but cooperation and helpful attitude on Don's part. I sent a bouquet to my mom as I had used Jory's in the past. Their flowers were always fresh and gorgeous! I was disappointed in how the bouquet looked. I was contacted by the owner and a replacement was dispatched the next day. The owner explained to me that the picture on their site is a 1 sided bouquet and they make theirs all around. My sister in law recently had her 40th birthday and I needed a local florist. Jory's was recommended by her firm and they did not disappoint. I was able to browse a selection of items online - easy! I called and the order took very little time - awesome! They arrived and my sister in law was happy - perfect! They aren't cheap, but then again sending flowers are never cheap. I had just wanted to make sure they turned out well, some of those big brands just send terrible stuff. The phone operator was also very friendly and helpful. I have mixed feelings about Jory's. I ordered 2 bouquets, 8 boutonnieres, 6 centerpieces, 5 corsages, and cake flowers through Jory's and 2 out of 5 were great. On top of that I decided to DIY some other floral arrangements and bouquets with flowers from fiftyflowers.com. I started off working with Angelina who I felt understood my vision and I was comfortable with. However, Angelina left the company and my order was taken over by Anne. I never met with Anne in person to discuss my flowers but emailed many times. I provided Peonies(from fiftyflowers) and hand painted Succulents(from MIL's garden) to be used for my bridal bouquet, groom's boutonniere, and corsages. The centerpieces were supposed to be large clusters of hydrangea. Other boutonnieres were made of babies breathe. And I needed garden roses to put on our cake. My bridal bouquet was insanely gorgeous and just what I had envisioned. The boutonnieres and my MOH's bouquet were all perfect as well. The corsages looked beautiful, but unfortunately all fell apart. Most didn't make it past the ceremony :-(. The owner of Jory's had told me that he'd never done peony corsages before and I added them to the order very last minute so maybe it was my mistake for insisting on them and at least we got some pretty pictures of them right after they had been put on. My two big disappointments however were that there were no garden roses for the cake and the centerpieces were not as discussed. While I had been told that there would be 10-15 stems of hydrangea in each centerpiece there ended up only being 6 or 7 in each and an odd garden rose or peony added in which I definitely did not want. Needless to say I was completely underwhelmed by my centerpieces. Luckily we still had the floral arrangements we had put together on our own (the peonies, babies breathe, and mums that I had ordered from fiftyflowers)...I LOVED the arrangements that we put together ourselves and I really wish we had done our main centerpieces on our own too. Not to mention that the peonies and mums from fiftyflowers were much much fresher than the garden roses and hydrangea from Jory's flowers and lasted days after the wedding. I wouldn't use Jory's again but I do think they are capable of beautiful work (i.e. my bridal bouquet) and the prices are definitely competitive. So if you want to give them a shot I just recommend that you meet with your floral designer in person to go over your vision and maybe even splurge for a mockup to make sure you get what you want. read more

I discovered them when Ah Sam Florist discontinued service to Walnut Creek and I have been very happy with the floral arangements created by the artists at Jory's. I've used them a few times now, and it's always been great. One time they ran out of a certain color of tulips, but they called me ahead of time and asked if it was okay if they substituted it with another color (which was completely fine for me). It's a little hard to find and you might drive right by it, so be sure to keep an eye out when you visit. read more

As good as it gets indeed!!!! Working with Julie, the wedding specialist, was suuuuper easy! She's friendly, professional, and very very talented! She has a lot of experience and it shows. My all-orchid bouquet turned out beautifully and the bouts and corsages she made were exactly our style. Even though some things didn't work out the way they were supposed to, Julie came to the rescue and all the kinks were ironed out without us noticing anything had happened. Jory's was great at working with my tight budget for my wedding and gave me several options and deals to make things as cost effective as possible. They were very flexible and easy to get a hold of. My flowers arrived promptly the day of the wedding. My only complaint is that I originally discussed a brownish/cremish theme for the bridesmaid bouquets, and showed them a sample picture. When the bouquets arrived that day, the "brown" flowers were more like, black (ew). No biggie, though, my bridesmaids and I quickly pinched them off and worked with ivory bouquets instead. Still recommend, but be clear about what you want and check in last minute to clarify any details. read more

My husband ordered me a flower arrangement for our anniversary. I was a complete rip off! He spent ALLOT of money on 5 mini roses w/ greenery! I couldn't believe it! I looked up there website and the arrangement he picked looked nothing like the one in the pic. He called to complain and they told him for extra money he could add to it. I was shocked. So I called myself and told then I will be returning the flower and expect a full refund. When I got there the lady went in the other room and got the owner, He informed he to wait because the lady that does the refunds went home for the day. What a waste of time and money! Had to update my review! Today I received a dozen long stem roses as an apology from Jory's! That was very honorable and better customer service! 2 stars for the flowers which are usually fresh and gorgeous. But their service?? Not so good. The last 3 occasions of sending flowers have been fouled up by them. Twice they did not write the gift card sentiments correctly or failed to correctly show who sent the flowers. This LAST time they failed to read the "special instructions" that I wrote which said "deliver between 12noon and 5pm". I paid with PayPal and their system truncated my message in favor of the PayPal transaction ID. Everyone makes mistakes but Jory's has made it a habit. There's other florists out there. read more

I received a fruit basket from Jory's Flowers this past week. The quality of the fruit in the basket was extremely poor - some fruit on the bottom was actually rotten. Another suggestion, with all the rains and low temps in our area, they should not leave fruit baskets or any floral delivery on a front door step - not a good business practice. I would not let them replace the order has I have no faith in the quality of fruit they use. Hopefully the credit will be issued to the sender of my basket as I requested and was promised. read more

This florist was referred to me. Being new to the Bay Area, I was not familiar with the local florists. I called early and requested a same day delivery and was told early afternoon which was fine. The driver ran behind and my wife did not receive until almost 5 pm. Jory's won hands down. Once I decided on Jory's the next step was to pick an arrangement. I decided on Rhapsody in Purple. I had the choice between standard and deluxe. I couldn't tell difference in each by the pictures online. I assumed the deluxe would be slightly bigger in size we decided to go with the deluxe.. We really wanted to put a smile on her face. I decided to order online because I would be a blubbering idiot, fighting back tears trying to tell them what to write on the card if I had to tell them on the phone. Ordering was super simple. Upon the completion of my order I received an email confirmation. I even received a confirmation of delivery which was nice. I wasn't left wondering if they arrived. Our recipient was very thankful and posted a picture of the arrangement on social media. They looked almost exactly like the picture. Since I couldn't tell by the pics on Jory's website the difference between the standard and deluxe I wasn't sure if the deluxe were sent. Jory's is the best floral shop I have ever used and I don't even live in Cali. I live in Illinois. I needed to send flowers to my best friend in Concord. In the past I would just order from 1-800 flowers until two bad experiences. I decided this time to go online and find local florists close to the person I was sending flowers to. I read reviews and looked at all of their options. I then called and spoke to a really helpful and sweet person. I placed my order and asked if the final bouquet would look close to the picture online. She said "It will look almost exact". Then the next day I realized I gave them the wrong delivery date so I called and right away the woman said "Don't worry we fixed the date and there is not added charges". I was totally willing to pay but they wouldn't charge and that was so great! Called to order dozen and a half Roses for Valentine's day. I was told too late for delivery but I could pickup after 3pm. I agreed. I asked if they had Ecuadorian roses. Color was unimportant. Person on the phone placed me on hold stating the designer would be able to validate the source of the roses. When she returned to the phone I was told they had the roses but designer didn't feel comfortable preparing them for me without me looking at them first after 3pm. I replied I will pay in advance and I was comfortable with their verification. The person on the phone replied I would need to see them first. I confirmed I would be driving there on my lunch break and would like to order and pay now. My concern being they would run out. I also asked if they could send me a picture from cell phone etc so I could order reaffirming my concern about selling out. I was not allowed to order. SMH read more

I've ordered from this shop for the past couple years. I was always satisfied with the service and arrangements. Don't know what has happened... they seem to have gone corporate now. I ordered flowers four weeks prior to July 4th; for my 19th anniversary. I paid for the "premium" arrangement which I chose from their website. The picture and description is 2 different color roses, English wax flowers and trailing ivy for greenery. The total cost was $141.00. I specifically arranged to have it delivered on July 3rd to make sure there wasn't a conflict with the holiday. I also ordered them four weeks in advance so as to give enough time for the necessary flowers to be acquired. When I came home from work on July 3rd... there was vase with white roses, fern, and about 5 stalks of Statice which can barely be seen. I immediately sent Jory's a picture of what had arrived and a picture and the description from their website of what had been ordered, along with my order confirmation and receipt and asked "maybe I received someone else's flowers"? Other than being flowers this is the only resemblance these two arrangements had to each other. I waited for a response. This was approximately 3:00 p.m. At 4:30 I called the shop. I received their corporate answering service recording touting their expert customer service and the benefits of using a "neighborhood florist". Finally, I waited some time for the "next available customer service representative"... I guess they must have all been busy being neighborly... A gentlemen finally answered. He told me he was with the answering service. I left a message and described the issue. I point called a different local "neighborhood" florist, spoke to the owner, explained that these were supposed to be my 19th anniversary gift and how absolutely disappointed, not to mention furious, I was especially having paid for the premium bouquet and ordered well in advance of the required date to offset any "hiccups". $250 and 45 minutes later the owner personally delivered a very nice arrangement. He obviously had used everything that he had available at his shop given this was truly "last minute urgent". Though it didn't look like what I had originally ordered I was grateful. Finally, two days later someone from Jory's business office contacted me... She said she could offer me two options. 1. a replacement arrangement "that is correct this time"; or 2. a $115 credit to use for future flowers with them!!! I explained I had already replaced the flowers from another shop and a refund of some sort would be the appropriate concession. Well, of course she didn't know how to refund because I used PayPal. I offered to pay for the equivalent of a bouquet of white roses (significantly less expensive) and she got into I'd have to pay for all of the white roses because I received the correct number of roses (but just not a different color and not mentioning the 3rd type of flower which was missing and the fern that was missing), and I would have to wait for the controller to get back from vacation, etc., etc., etc. This is the exceptional customer service they they're advertising all over? Really? How's this: 1. I didn't order the extra white roses. I should not have to pay for them. 2. I didn't order fern, I should not have to pay for them. 3. I didn't order Statice, I should not have to pay for any. 4. This was not a designer who made an order mistake, it was someone who didn't care and threw anything together. Flower arrangements is all they do, if their designer cannot get that right that's tragic and shameful! 5. Had I been home when it was delivered I would have refused the delivery. 6. I had to spend another couple hundred dollars on a last minute replacement from another shop, Why would I ever want their "coupon" for more flowers from them? So they can screw up another arrangement? 7. I don't want a replacement arrangement today, tomorrow, next week, or a month from now. My 19th anniversary was July 4th; yesterday... I won't be having another 19th anniversary again. It's a one time deal. So not only won't I be ordering from Jory's again, I'm seriously thinking of following the trend and forgoing sending flowers ever again for any occasion. I could have gone to Safeway and bought a bunch of different flowers and made something myself, for a lot less money, and it would have been correct. UTube is filled with "how to" floral design and arrangement tips. Sending flowers is a luxury to mark an occasion. There is really no other reason to do it. Maybe this old fashioned tradition needs to be put to rest also and digital bouquets sent. A truly bad experience. read more
