A cut above the rest. The Cadillac margarita was an excellent choice to pair with my quesadilla. The trio of queso, guacamole, and pimento cheese made for a great start to the evening spent celebrating with coworkers. It has become one of my new favorite Mexican restaurants in the Triangle area.

The chicken Enchiladas Suizas. Best in the area.

Still five stars for the food, service and overall wonderfulness that's José and Sons. Came here to to add that you'll probably never get a better plate of chicken enchilada suizas than what they have here. You'll wish there were four or five to an order. Heavenly.

Hole in the wall Mexican place. Small. It wasn't busy at all. Service was fast. Food decent no complaints definitely had better. The veggie Acp was okay, so many random veggies you wouldn't think would be in (broccoli, mushrooms, tricolored bell peppers, zucchini, onions) it was too much personally. The corn tortillas are not good at all, they lack flavor. The drinks were light and pretty steep for amount. I would recommend for something quick and easy but not for food.

Mango Frozen Margarita: Jumbo

We had another great meal tonight! Daniel was our server and he recommend an off the menu item: the Peach Addictive Margarita Shaker. The drink was sweet, refreshing, and super smooth... so I can see why they call it addictive! I had Tiras De Pollo, one of my go-tos, and it was delicious as always. The chipotle cream sauce that comes on this dish is full of flavor.

Shrimp BLT Tacos

Had a great experience at Jose and Sons! We visited on a Friday night and it was busy, but we were seated quickly. The staff were so nice and checked on us often. We started with some drinks which were very good! I ordered the shrimp blt tacos. They were ok, the bacon was a bit hard which threw the tacos off a bit. But the rice and beans it came with were good. My husband got the fajitas and he liked them! The portion sizes were also great for the price.

Daiquiri

We got a burrito with avocado on top and a virgin strawberry daiquiri to drink. It was sooooo good! Portion size was great. After munching on chips and splitting an appetizer, we just shared the burrito.

After looking for a great place to take my daughter for a quick lunch, I came across Jose and Sons. We arrived soon as they opened and was greeted by the host and the server. She gave us a lot of recommendations for drinks based on our preference. Since they are well known for their drinks. I went with the princess mango drink. It was really yummy and filled with flavor. I was definitely tipsy and ready to eat after a few sips. For my entrée I went with the chef picnic a variety of good authentic food. I felt like I was at a BBQ tasting the best things from the chef. Lol, my husband and daughter also enjoyed their meal, too. I loved how decor went with the food and drinks a great balance. They have plenty of parking right in front, so no stress there. I can't wait to go back and try something new.

La vampira margarita

Big fan of Cortez and was excited to try their sister restaurant. No wait for our party of 4 on a Saturday night (though it was a holiday weekend). La vampira margarita was too sweet, but the food was really good. I tried: + Queso dip + Fresh guacamole + Battered fish tacos + Flautas de pollo The guacamole was the standout, though everything was great. Huge portions, too!

I enjoyed Jose and Sons. They offer a fun atmosphere that features talented bartenders at the cantina. I treated my mom and daughter to drinks & dinner to celebrate her birthday this evening. This place was jam packed. We really enjoyed the music, the decor and plentiful menu. My mom enjoyed a Tamarica Margarita from the Skinny Margarita menu which is less sugar. It featured los vecinos mezcal, tamarind, agave nectar & fresh lime juice, we also had the pimento queso dip with their delicious tortilla chips. If you don't know, now you know, they have the best chips. There is nothing like them. I decided on the Al pastor tacos, my daughter enjoyed the Gouda Queso Mac n cheese and my mom had shrimp fajitas. The dishes were a bit underwhelming. The Mac & cheese was the hit. The fajitas were lacking in flavor and the Al pastor tacos were soggy. Bad tortillas. My Horchata was not good either. They really lost points for me when I was not offered dessert, and the table was never cleared. They need more waitstaff. I asked if they do anything special for birthdays. I was offered a birthday shot of tequila for my 68 yr old mother with a serenade from the wait staff. Unfortunately, the waitress returned and I was told that the wait staff was too busy to sing for the birthday girl. Very disappointing. Luckily, I planned for cake at home. I would return most definitely for cocktails, chips and vibes at the cantina but I will pass on dinner here again.

Perfection, highly recommend the shrimp quesadilla, or anything else with shrimp. The guacamole is worth the $10. The service was very good, really quick. Enjoyed the food and experience. I love the decor, it was to die for. I'll be back!

Not bad, but not great. Large portions, but nothing remarkable, except the Brussel Sprouts. Those were amazeballs.

When it was downtown the food was better. Now it is subpar. If you like authentic Mexican food steer clear of this place.

The reason for the low rating is the food. My colleagues could not believe that I ordered the liver entree, but I didn't care, I love liver, and my wife won't fix it. I'd never heard of Mustard-Seared Calves' Livers, but, loving liver the way I do, I was willing to try it. When the liver came out, it looked like a huge pile of greasy slop. I was not deterred and took a bite. The liver was mush; it had absolutely no texture, and the taste was just awful. Not wanting to tempt fate (I have had food poisoning before), I did not eat any more than that first bite. As I mentioned before, the waiter was excellent and removed the offending entree. He offered to put in an order for something else. I opted for the calamari appetizer, which was okay. They comped my calamari and didn't charge for the liver. I hope the restaurant will rethink this dish. I suppose it could have a following, but at the very least, make sure the liver is fresh and high-quality.

I heard some people next to us complain about the wait time for their food but given how busy it was, I don't think it was insanely long. We sat on the porch and it was really nice dinner! The NY Strip arrived more than well done, so we told the waitress and she apologized and sent it back to the kitchen. As I was eating the meatloaf, I noticed an off taste and texture. I looked closer and realized it was still pink/slimy/raw! How can meatloaf be raw? It's supposed to be fully cooked first and then grilled. Whoever sliced it from the "loaf" should have noticed it was not cooked before throwing it on the grill! We notified the manager when he came to apologize for the NY strip, so he took the meatloaf back to the kitchen. When the NY Strip came back out, my husband cut into it and it was shiny and purple inside, from top to bottom...absolutely rare. The waitress agreed it was rare and took it back to the kitchen again. When it came out for the third time, it was perfect (third time's a charm, I guess?). The only saving grace was the kind waitress who felt awful about the sub par food. The kitchen put her in an uncomfortable position, but she handled it with grace. We ordered the chocolate torte for dessert and it was very good, but that's the only thing I'd return for.

The North Hills spot ( 4421 Six Forks Road in Raleigh, beside Total Wine) feels settled in the best way. Comfortable, Welcoming, Cozy. We started slowly. A wine flight. The kinds of plates you keep reaching for without realizing it. For dinner, we had the the NY Strip (North Carolina pasture-raised Angus with Diane sauce and a French onion potato gratin). And the roasted whole fish (with hazelnut gremolata, citrus beurre blanc, and confit sunchoke). Both cooked to perfection, nothing missing, and absolutely delicious. What stuck with us the most htough, the service. Ben and Oscar were sharp, attentive, and present without being overbearing. They made the evening feel even more incredible. The business was clean and there is also a bar inside. The restaurant has a large selection of wines and offers flights for purchase. The restaurant had some people dining in but they were not overly packed. Initially our server was pleasant and attentive. I got a blood orange sparkling water. It was ok. I ordered the whipped ricotta for an appetizer to share and a burger with fries for my entree. The whipped ricotta was ok. It would taste better with some sort of seasoning in it. My fries were served hot but needed some salt. I asked for my burger to be cooked well done but I was brought a burnt burger. I took one bite but it was too overcooked. I then requested that my server have my burger be cooked medium well so I didn't get another burnt burger. When my burger was brought back out, our server had me cut into my burger to make sure it was to my liking. The preparation was better but it was bland and tasted like there wasn't any seasoning on it. After this our server wasn't as attentive anymore. For dessert we got the donuts. They were served warm and I enjoyed them with the cherry sauce. I did not like the chocolate sauce that was served with the donuts.

She was welcoming, attentive, and handled everything smoothly, even as a few more parties came in while she was the only one serving at the time. One thing I really appreciated was that she let us know upfront what items were out of stock before we even looked at the menu. That level of transparency is huge and makes the experience so much better. My son ordered a slider with fries from the kids' menu. It comes with just one slider, so I ordered a second, definitely the right call. He enjoyed it, and the fries were cooked well, just a little on the salty side for our taste (ketchup helped balance that out). I had the shrimp tacos. It's packed and perfect portion for lunch. The shrimp, pineapple slaw, and chipotle mayo was a nice mix. The restaurant was clean (including the bathrooms). The location is also a plus, super close to the Art Museum, which makes it a great stop before or after visiting. Overall enjoyable, and I'd come back, especially to try more of the menu and the drinks.
