Stopped here based on the other Yelp reviews and was not disappointed. Had the garbage burrito - nothing like it in jersey that I am aware. A burger potatoes and macaroni enveloped by a burrito shell. Surprisingly tasty and super filling. Good place to go on tuesdays for $1 tacos, always super busy when I've gone there on those days. Chips and salsa are good. But the past 3 times I've gone there either myself or my boyfriend have gotten sick right after eating there. Coincidence...? I think not. Not really sure what it is but I've always gotten the ground chicken tacos (which I don't know if it's really chicken), and he normally gets something with the beef. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. We ate the Jose Carne and Jose Fritto burritos, and they were fantastic! The Jose Fritto was fried and on a bed of lettuce. I normally don't care for burritos, but it was so good I finished the whole thing! I definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

Love this place! Burritos are unique and delicious. Nachos are the best my wife and I have ever had! This is our go-to spot in Hilton.

I've eaten here about 6 times and the last 4 have left me feeling like I should have cooked at home. Although the decor is great, the cashiers have no idea what they're doing and their food that used to be fresh when they opened is now stale and dry. Example, I ordered the fajita salad and what was once sliced steak is now what I would refer to as dried beef. When I asked what was up the obnoxious women told me they've always made it that way. I think not. To top it off if you are looking for a quiet place or somewhere you can even think, this is not the place. The workers are so loud that if you didn't have a headache when you got there you will def leave with one. Btw, the 2 stars is only for their loaded smashed potatoes. Amazing, if the cook can remember to put everything on it. read more

I work near Jose joes so it is a viable option for lunch for an office of about 10 Monday through Friday. I've been there 3 times and each time has been great. We always call in our orders and the staff is super pleasant. I have yet to try a burger but the burritos are right on par with moes or chipotle. They are huge and extremely tasty. Their Jose Fritto is my "go to" comfort food. I KNOW this is not authentic Mexican. I lived with authentic. But it's flavorful. I agree with other posters that the side servings of sauces like guacamole, sour cream and the avocado cream are a bit sparse. But the salads are large, tasty, and filling. Meh. We were so excited to try this place out. The "mexican" food was not good, the burger was okay, the desserts tasted good but they were TINY. Like, the size of my pinky finger. This place is nestled right in the middle of the town of Hilton. Easy street parking or a lot in back. The service was great, Marc was a great help since it was our first time. The chips and queso was addicting. They have country time lemonade in their fountain drink machine, big plus in my book. I got a burrito and my husband got a burger. Both were great. The food was pretty good, biggest complaint though was the kid meal of cheese quesadilla's. For 2 slices of this it was almost 6 dollars. The dessert were tasty, so much so I ordered 2 of each as i was leaving the restaurant, but when i got home the 2 cookie dough desserts were ok, but the 2 cheescake ones were half the size of the one's we got while eating there. So far im loving Jose Joes. Its like having a Moe's or Chipotle by where you live but without the super annoying "Welcome to Moe's" when you walk in. Also whenever I go its never packed which means no pain in the ass people to deal with. The staff at Jose Joes are super energetic and not in an annoying I wanna punch you in the face way. They seem truly nice or they're fantastic at faking it. Either way, good on them. The prices are about the same as a Moe's or Chipotle so you cant complain. read more

Great place for lunch or dinner. I have eaten here with friends and by myself, the atmosphere is calming and music is hip. I love the fresh salsa, burrito with avocado sauce and nachos. My only recommendation is to offer free refills. read more

Food was good. However, atmosphere was totally ruined by females (teenage girls?) hanging out on the bench in front of the counter. They were extremely loud, yelling, jumping up and down and using inappropriate language. Don't know if they had previously eaten there. But, certainly, were not waiting for an order. We did not complain at the counter as it was obvious they were friends with the workers. No one told them to quiet down nor to stop the inappropriate language. If anything, it was encouraged by workers. We couldn't wait to get out of there and it totally destroyed our lunch together as a family! Will suggest that the burritos (the 3 amigos) be put in or on a dish as paper and tin foil eventually comes on the knife and, ultimately, in the mouth when cutting to eat. Food was good, just didn't enjoy it as much as we would have liked to due to the conduct of the females. We ate there today as an Easter celebration for the family. read more

My husband and I tried Jose Joe's for the first time last week. As Hilton residents we were very excited about having Mexican food in our small town. Unfortunately, our burritos were not that great. I ordered the "Jose Your Way" burrito with chicken, rice, salsa, lettuce, tomato, cheese and avocado cream. Plenty of toppings right? What I received was an extremely thin, square shaped burrito that looked nothing like a burrito (I wondered if they got my order wrong b/c there was nothing in it, literally). There were maybe 4-5 pieces of chicken, a tablespoon of rice and cheese, etc. On top of that, it was cold and had not been heated up. Had my burrito been filled like a regular burrito it would have been very good as the ingredients are fresh and the avocado cream was delicious. Unfortunately, they don't know how to make burritos and I got ripped off. For $7 I should have received a lot more. Needless to say my husband and I won't be going back there. read more

My husband and I always like to try new restaurants, so when Jose Joe's opened up, we went there for lunch on my day off. The place was packed, but the service was acceptable for the size crowd that was there. The sign says "burgers & burritos" but it has an extensive menu of other entrees and sandwiches displayed on four large TV screens above the ordering counter. Prices range from $5 to under $10. You order at the counter, and it takes about 5 minutes to get your food. I ordered the chicken sandwich. The fried chicken had a crispy crunchy crust, and the toppings were fresh and moist. We went back a few days later with my son and his wife, and I had to have that sandwich again. The first time around my husband had a spicy burrito (I don't remember the name), and he liked that they didn't hold back on the heat. The second time he had a double burger on a long roll which he loaded up from a list of free toppings you can get on any sandwich. read more
