This was the second time eating at Jose Locos within the last two weeks with my lady. We enjoyed it so much the first time we came back again for date night. This restaurant checks all three boxes- Delicious food, fast & friendly service, and the decor/atmosphere is authentic. Oh, as a bonus, the prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are generous. Their chips, salsa & Queso are fantastic and fresh. I has their Al Pastor street taco and those were very tasty as well. I'm a big eater so I also ate the enchilada supreme-one chicken, one beef, one bean & one cheese enchilada with red sauce. All were packed with wonderful flavor and cooked to perfection. My lady had the loco ribeye with mushrooms and cheese sauce which she absolutely loved. The food was very good , spinach enchiladas, guacamole, service , and timely ! A personal dislike is the smell of the cleaner that is used in the bathrooms and then it was being used close to our table near the back of the restaurant. It's very strong and overwhelming. I hope that they will change this because it is very off putting when you're eating. We have been here 4 times now. I really like the food. It is fresh and delicious. Very big restaurant that can handle large seating. This last time though we had a server that did not write our order down. He got several things wrong and was too busy to connect with us. So much so He was unaware he never brought my husband's meal. We will be back because we enjoy the food but we hope to never have service like that again or we will have to find a New Mexican restaurant to enjoy. read more

Fist time; got it to go. Nice portion size, but everything tasted a little bland. I got a burrito that came with a chicken enchilada, and supposedly a taco. There was a open tortilla next to the burrito with beans and a little meat on top. The burrito was supposed to be steak tips, but just tasted like flank steak or something, I'm not a huge fan of enchiladas, and the sauce wasn't great. The meal tasted more like a chain than a local spot "not sure if it is." The La Familia dinner did come with a bag of chips and some salsa. Fair price for the portion size, but I felt it could use a little more flavor and heat. Perfect for the folks who want to try Mexican food without the complexity. read more

Stopped in kinda late, but the place was still hopping. You can typically judge a Mexican restaurant by their Chile Verde. Myself, I'm a green sauce - extra hot if ya got it. Service was very typical and on it. Not too friendly, but that's okay. Everyone was busy and efficient. I really liked the homemade hot sauce! Pretty !! No alcohol this time, but with guacamole and tea, I found it reasonable. Now, the Chile Verde was very well seasoned and a huge portion. I ate about 3/4, but was traveling, so the rest had to go to the trash, not my breakfast! A tear was shed, it was that good. Thanks for a great experience - I'll definitely be coming back again. Mexican food for dinner is always great! I started off with the skinny margarita, it was pretty delicious. Honestly I wouldn't have known it was a skinny if I hadn't asked for it. I ordered the tacos al pastor plate, but was a bit disappointed. The meat was in chunks and not very flavorful. Usually al pastor meat in tacos are smaller and you can see and taste the red sauce. It didn't taste like al pastor and it was a tad bit too greasy. My husband had a big feast, the Plata loca, it has a burrito, taco, Chile relleno and enchilada. He said it was tasty, would have liked the choice to have different meats instead of just beef but over all was good. I ordered a flan, I would recommend the flan, it was delicious. The service was amazing and food came out quickly but it was horrible. The Maui tacos were bland and wet in a bad way, it was obvious they were rushed and not thoroughly cooked. I had the bandit enchiladas and the chicken was basically mush. I ate the entire plate and was still hungry which i consider a bad sign considering my meal alone was $18. Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had! The salsa was extra yummy and a bit spicy, which I loved! Queso was good, tacos and fajitas were delicious, and the margaritas were strong. I also really liked their red rice. Service was exceptionally quick! We were seated right away when we walked in and didn't wait more than 10 minutes after ordering for our food to arrive. The only damper during our visit was a screaming baby at the next table over. However, that's not the restaurant's fault and we will return in the future! read more

First off there is no social distancing at this restaurant nor are people wearing masks to their tables which goes against guidelines. "Crazy Joe's" deserves a perfect mark for it's attention to detail beyond just fantastically fresh, delicious food. The location provides easy access to it's attractive building & ample parking lot. Entering, the décor is bright, well-appointed and attractive. We were welcomed & seated promptly at a very comfortable booth in one of the spacious dining areas featuring seating for even the largest parties, while still maintaining an "homey" atmosphere with it's wood & stone interior, beautiful bar area & a festive vibe without being loud. Each employee we came in contact with was remarkably polite, prompt & efficient in their duties from initial refreshments to serving, follow-up & bill collection. Totally unobtrusive yet attentive. Outstanding training! Three of us started with refreshing house margaritas with a nice, flavorful yet lighter mix that complimented rather than overwhelmed the ample tequila. The flower on top was an unusual touch. The tortilla chips were lighter but firm enough to not break under a dip of guacamole. The salsa was extremely flavorful yet low-key - a perfect compliment to the meal. We followed with the special guacamole (Fresco?) which was delicious but huge - the perfect balance of creaminess & chunkiness of all ingredients. If you're not a fan of cilantro, you might stick with the standard order which was excellent in it's own right. I thought it was some of the best I have tasted. For entree's, we had: The Chica (fresh spinach & chicken enchiladas w/light cheese sauce); The Chipotle (chicken enchiladas w/chipotle cream sauce); the Enchiladas Verde (chicken w/Verde sauce); and a dish of ground steak & fries for my granddaughter. All were excellent along with the rice, which was a particularly tasty standout. Overall, outstanding in every aspect. All the ingredients were at peak freshness & flavor. Food was tasty, atmosphere was fun, and their bahama mama was so good I almost forgot to share. Keep in mind that their chicken for things like tacos and enchiladas are shredded.. so it's kinda dry. Stopped for lunch on the way thru town today. I appreciated that you could order their lunch specials on Saturday. The portions were larger than average for around $7.50 per plate. The service was great and staff was friendly. I really enjoyed the chips and salsa. It wasn't too spicy. I ordered a combo of Enchillada, taco and flauta. I really liked the taco and flauta. I wasn't as thrilled with the enchillada though. I felt the meat was on the dry side. Overall we enjoyed the stop and would visit again if we were passing thru the area. read more

I have been intending to visit the new Jose Locos on North Glenstone for a long time. I finally got my chance today. Am I ever glad that I did! First of all, I have to mention Maribel, server extraordinaire! I don't believe that I could've gotten better service anywhere in the city from anyone else in the city. I went there with two friends and we had an eclectic mix of meals between us. My one friend had the Maui tacos. After seeing those I'm definitely gonna come back and order that... I ordered shrimp quesadillas. I can definitely say they were the best shrimp quesadillas that I've ever had. The shrimp are tiny and they were delectably good. Also, I have to brag about the queso dip. Many Mexican restaurants sell queso dip but it's all runny and not that delicious. Jose Locos is fantastic with the queso dip. So we went back to Jose Locos with two other nursing school friends after our exams and we had Edson as our waiter and he was seriously so awesome! When we go back, which we will probably every week, we are going to request him! It was Taco Tuesday and their tacos are $1 a piece- just the shredded chicken and ground beef one! My friends for that but I got the pork tip in green Chile sauce like I said I would AND the coconut margarita! Service is so great there and so is the food!! I was eyeballing their pork carnita street tacos for the next time around. Burritos were HUGE. . . Definitely to share. (Waiter said they have a couple of "normal" sized on the menu. . . ). They were very good, but could have been a bit warmer. Chips are the thick variety, and they had large size sauce carafe's to hold plenty sauce. Menu was vert extensive. So plenty choices. Other diner's plates looked well portioned and yummy as they went by. . . Margaritas we're a bit too sweet for my taste. Ambiance was what you'd expect at a Tex-Amex and very clean. Overall. . .
