Chardonnay and wine not sweet roll!
    Vivian C.

Jovino's in Eagle is amazing! I could walk to this place from my hotel and stumble back after the wine! Cute little place, it is like a coffee shop married a wine bar with very friendly baristas. I had the pleasure of talking to a young barista who also fought wild fires during the summer. I did not catch her name, but she was a delight to speak with. I enjoyed several glasses of chardonnay at the bar and my sweet tooth got the best of me and I ordered this delectable sweet roll which hit the spot! I wish I had a Jovino's in my hometown! I will be visiting Jovino's again this summer! Cheers!

The best place to start your morning, check your emails, and have a great cup of Jo! And the quiche.....

Green tea in a plastic tea bag. This tea company should know and do better, but why is it being offered in Jovino's?

Love the ambiance and upscale feel of this place. They have a nice variety of offerings and serve wine as well. They also have an outside area that is very nice and welcoming. Employees are really friendly. One thing I don't really understand is tea, that many folks drink for its health benefits, comes in plastic tea bags. These have been know to leach microplastics in the tea that we end up consuming - plastic is not meant to be consumed. It is a toxic load to our system. So would be wonderful if JoVinos would source a healthier brand.

Friendly staff and perfect decor- the right mix of white with wood elements, and plants. Looking forward to sitting outside on the covered patio with waterfall when the weather gets warmer. Good food and plenty of beverage options!

This coffee/wine shop is so cute, honestly name a better pairing than coffee and wine. They have incredible outdoor seating that would be perfect for the summer months. They have a wide variety of wines from various regions across the world. Whether you want a glass or a bottle, they have it all. I loved the ambiance inside this establishment. It gave elevated coffeehouse vibes. I didn't get any of their small plates, but it looked like they had great options!

Joe (as in coffee) and Vino (as in wine) = JoVino's, a combination of coffee bar for a.m. and wine bar for later hours (although, I guess one might be able to buy vino any time) is by the same owner / investors as Rembrandt's and Caci in Eagle so that connection provides a bit of what one might expect here when it finally gets its' groove on. (Open now but not running at full speed at first it seems.) Like the other two by same owners this will find its' demographic in the area for locals who have more interest in gathering in groups to sip and drink together than in great food or stellar service. A step above the "YO Duude!" and "Sooper Cute!" audience but not quite the quality wine bar audience focus. Not that there's anything wrong with that, as Seinfeld and Costanza would say. And it is genius for how it fits the local demographic. After our first visit we'll wait a bit to go back and see if once fully set things are better orchestrated. And I'll close my comments with those of the owner(s) as posted on web site so readers can see where this is intended to go but it is not yet there. That as preamble, here's the rest: THE VIBE: Walk in high ceiling, lot of windows space with seating at a couple high tables, 1 communal, 4 lounge chairs at a fireplace and 3 tiny "one top" size standard height tables against a wall at back that probably would seat 2 people each but every inch of all 3 tables were taken up by two people with laptops and work documents spread among them...rude of them. A wall of wine bottles are on display at the back en route to the (2) loo. The bulk of the seating, all of it at convenient standard height including upholstered sectionals and tables and chairs, is outside on a big patio. Outside seating has overhead heaters and a water feature. This is going to be at the heart of popularity for this place, outside gathering. Smart. THE DRILL: High bar counter on left is also order counter with a big menu on the wall above it. Everyone who entered on the roughly noon hour when we were there seemed unsure of what to do, us included, and stood far back to look at the menu. Nice guy behind the counter called out he could take orders. My hubby ordered our Mexican mocha and stepped over to look at wine display while he waited and a nice woman came out to ask if this was his order and handed to him. I don't know if they'll do table service or not when full open. THE MENU: Coffee beverages of many kinds and wine that can be purchased by glass or bottle. While the advance marketing on this described it as small plates format to go with wine, the only food available currently seems to be a handful of breakfast items - bowls and handheld items. Looks like the small plates options are a ways out but with what seems like a minimal kitchen, not sure what they will be. THE JOE: One of the things we enjoyed at Rembrandt's when we were customers there was remarkably good coffee. (We finally gave up due to woeful food at times from inconsistent kitchen and too many instances of lackluster service all things management could address...this was 2019 so not pandemic issue...but didn't.) Alas, the great coffee didn't transfer to here if our experience was the standard. The Mexican mocha tasted like cinnamon syrup sweetened milk with not a trace of chocolate or coffee. THE VINO: Bottles displayed on wall were diverse and seemed curated to offer a number of choices across price points. We are old winos...umm...well seasoned oenophiles...and my husband noted by bottle prices seemed comparable to those at retail locations like the Boise CoOp's Wine Shop. My understanding is, and this may be wrong, given the close to retail pricing of the bottles (most places mark up by a lot) they will charge a corkage fee for service on site if you consume it there. ACCESSIBILITY: One ADA parking spot in front. Ample floor space at order counter. Seating inside at 3 small tables MAY have floor space for wheelchair users. Loo are accessible. Patio has clear path of travel between seating and standard height tables. LOO: Two uni, a good plan when beverages are the main service. Auto matic water faucet set to cold water only on our visit...brrrrr. DRIVE THROUGH: They have one. PARKING: Private lot. OWNERS MARKETING NOTE: "JoVinos will have its own proprietary espresso and coffee blends with simple breakfast items and grab and goes for the morning.  Lunch offerings will include salads and craft sandwiches.  And for the evenings, tantalizing small plates will complement the wine offerings.  We will feature roughly 140 bottle selections at aggressive retail pricing, and for those relaxing by the fire or enjoying time with friends by the water feature, we will serve you and just add a corkage fee for the service.  We will also feature rotaing wines by the glass and beer by the bottle."

This place was absolutely amazing with a group of 20+ for a book club meetup. They went above and beyond to make our evening special. The food was presented beautifully, the service was excellent and the staff all had smiles from ear to ear. The wine selection was superb. The coffee was excellent. The patio is perfect for winter or summer. The indoor space is cozy and comfortable. I highly recommend this pace for a date night to a work meet up!

I've been meaning to check JoVinos out for quite awhile, so today I finally did. The ambiance is modern yet inviting , the staff attentive and knowledgeable. The food was artfully presented and tasty. My friend and I shared a Burrata and Prosciutto board, plus the Meat and Cheese board. Both the coffee and wine selections were extensive, certainly something for every taste. The patio looked amazing - a definite place to try when it's a little warmer ( although, I think it is heated.) This is the perfect place for meeting friends then leisurely sharing food, wine... or coffee!

The vibe in this shop is so cool. It's sleek and modern , it looks expensive and fancy. The prices are very fair. The chai was good - I am more of a sweet chai lady and this was a little more spicy. The service was very fast.

Well this was a fun little find! I just needed to pull over and get some quick paperwork done. They have a great bottle selection to take home as well as an extensive in shoppe variety. Ambiance is lovely, especially considering it's right off of a busy State street!

Salmon Lox, Hummus, Burrata & Prosciutto. All deelish!!

Seems it goes straight to the top. My review here isn't for the business. It's to save anyone from a similar very negative experience for a restaurant clearly not interested in such an insane violation of trust.

And with the view by the patio, how can it not be the most perfect setting to enjoy my birthday dinner. We just stuck with water since it was on the warmer side today. We just went straight in for dinner. As much as the appetizers sounded lovely, I was ready for the main event. So for dinner tonight I ordered the charboiled salmon with seasonal veggies in place of the salad. My salmon was plated beautifully with nice char marks on it. The veggies were a variety of squash and were sautéed nicely. And you can tell visually that they were seasoned nicely with spices and herbs. I dug right into my salmon. My first couple bites were delicious. I did spread some of the sun dried tomato butter on my salmon. The butter was fantastic! It added a nice flavor element to the salmon. After I ate about a a fourth of my salmon, I noticed that it was not cooked all the way through in the middle. With my new kidney, I can't have rare or undercooked fish. My immune system can't handle a parasite if the fish were to potentially contain any. I shouldn't have assumed that it was going to be cooked all the way since our server didn't ask how well I wanted it cooked. I did have to send it back and have another one remade. While my new fish was being prepared, my server gave me a small salad plate to transfer my veggies to. I got to work on them so I wasn't staring at my family eat. The veggies were cooked perfectly. They weren't overly soft or still raw. It had a nice bite to them while still being tender. Unfortunately, they were overly seasoned and was on the saltier side. I was hungry so I polished them off. But I did have to drink a good amount of water to help with the saltiness. Thank goodness the portion was on the daintier side. As hungry as I was, it would have been bad if it was a bigger portion. All that salt would not be good on my new kidney. My second round of salmon came out. Was it as pretty as my first plate, no but it will do. I'm sure they set the flame on high, let it sit on the grill for a while and then flipped it to cook the other side. I have cooked salmon well done plenty of times and have it come out tender. When you cook for a living, having cooking times for your dishes should be down to a science in your kitchen. Unfortunately, the salmon was super dry and flavorless. As hungry as I was, I ate it. The butter did help with the dryness of the salmon. But I shouldn't have to rely on butter to make the dish edible. For my birthday, I got a free dessert. I chose the gluten free carrot cake. My cousin eats a gluten free diet so I thought this cake would be perfect for all of us. I enjoyed the cake very much! The cake was moist. The spices in the cake were fragrant and very noticeable in each bite. I loved the frosting on the cake. Since the cake wasn't overly sweet, the frosting added a nice sweetness to it. I enjoyed the cake very much! Our server did a mid job. There were times when she would be gone for long periods of time and we had to wait for her. The patio was perfect with its stunning view. Dinner was ok but dessert was fabulous. Overall it was a decent experience. I do look forward to coming back and enjoying the outdoor patio with my husband for a date night. I just know now to make sure I vocalize everything to my server so I don't end up with dry salmon again. I do want to come back and have a better experience.

I had requested this table so everything was smooth from calling in to getting in. My daughter and I arrived a little early to set up the table. We had flowers, party favors and decor we needed to set up. Our server helped us put the birthday cake in the fridge so it would stay cool. We got everything set up and just chilled till everyone showed up. I did forget the birthday candles I bought so I drove home to grab them. I missed the whole ordering process. I had my daughter order the pineapple hanger steak with no potatoes subbed for veggies for me. I left before they ordered and was only gone for about 25 minutes. My food had already been sitting for 10 minutes waiting for me before I got back. I was honestly surprised at how fast everything was prepared. I did enjoy my meal. It was really good. The hanger steak was tender and very savory. The shishito peppers were cooked and grilled perfectly. I got a total of 6 and only 1 of them was spicy, I'm ok with that! The asparagus was grilled to perfection. Not overly cooked but tender with a slight bite. The best way to have asparagus. I think this would have been a 5 star experience but this is where I'm so unhappy. I brought a cake in. I also brought in candles, a vintage cake plate and plates for us to eat the cake on. It was all planned out. Our server did not communicate with me at all about the cake once she pulled it out for me. One minute it was sitting in it's box on the servers table and the next minute there's a huge, tacky firework in it. Like, I had a pretty cake made with delicate candles to put in it to have this goofy firework in the middle of it. I didn't take one photo of the cake before she violated it with the stupid firework. If you plan on bringing in a cake that you don't want touch, tell your server. Food was great. The vibe was chill. But I will always have this stupid firework in the middle of my cake as a core memory of this joint.

That said, Form & Function really does bring something fresh to Eagle. The vibe is modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed without feeling cold. I also think they have the biggest alt milk selection of any local coffee shop I've been to, and I've tried basically all of them around here. Their seasonal drinks are consistently good too. One underrated thing? They're one of the only coffee shops in Eagle actually open on Sundays and open later into the afternoon. That's surprisingly rare around here. (Yes, Eagle Coffee & Bakery is open too, but their coffee always tastes burnt to me.) This place clearly thought about how people actually use coffee shops. Tons of seating options, lots of outlets, side tables that work well for laptops, a big upstairs group table, plus a little play kitchen and games for kiddos. The downstairs can get a little loud because of the high ceilings, but it's still way calmer than most busy cafés. Everything is super clean, including the bathrooms, which honestly matters more when you have kids. One of my favorite little routines now is grabbing a coffee here and taking my daughter over to Stephen Guerber Park afterward.

I have had the pleasure of checking out their downtown locations, especially their location at the Sparrow. It's such a great vibe down there! After finding out that this location is right down the road from me, you know I had to make my way in. I came in later in the morning so it was pretty chill. The venue is bright and simple. I love the simplicity of everything. The walls aren't over decorated. The tables and chairs and nicely spaced, the big windows give such great bright lightening and there's wonderful outdoor seating available too. I initially was on the wrong end of the counter. I finally realized and made my way to the register. I wasn't greeted by a barista. She wasn't the friendliest but she wasn't rude, she was there. She got my order squared away and I just hung out till it was ready. While waiting, I did notice all the goodies they had available. The baked goods looked fresh and yummy. I do believe they have a chia seed pudding in the little refrigerated case, it looked good. I'll have to grab some chia seed pudding the next time I'm in! I got myself something different from my normal americano. Today's drink was an iced matcha with almond milk. I did ask for some sugar free syrup. The few couple drinks I have gotten from the two other locations were Chai so it's good to know about not having sugar free syrups as an option. The barista did offer me honey or maple syrup as an alternative. I took up on her suggestion for the honey. My drink looked fabulous. It was rich in color. I really like the ice they serve here, it's great ice to chew on. I do like my coffee/tea to be slightly sweeter so I did end up adding a couple packets of blue sugar to my drink. I did a good few sips before I added the extra sweetner. It was hearty in matcha and you can taste the creaminess of the almond milk. The honey was there but the added sweetener did help enhance the honey. I enjoyed the nice weather today and had my drink outside. They have quite a few options for outdoor seating. Picnic tables, a few andorak chairs and a pint size picnic table for kids were available. I appreciate the big umbrellas at the picnic tables. It gave nice shade. In the space between the coffee shop and the boutique next door is where a lot of the seating is. It's quite charming and relaxing. I adore the strung up lights. I couldn't really enjoy them today since it was so bright out but I can imagine it being a great way to end day in a fall day. A hot cup of coffee, sitting in a huge andorak chair under the lights. It's great to know this local coffee joint is right down the road from me. I have always gotten great drinks from the other Form and Functions so it's nice to have this location as an option. My drink was good and it was nice being able to enjoy it under a huge umbrella today. I do wish the staff was a little friendlier. I came later in the day so my mood is already set. I couldn't imagine having the people working today start my day. I wouldn't be in the best mood. Hopefully the customer service will be a pleasant as my drink the next time around.
