THE WORST moving experience I've ever had. I've used movers a number of times when moving and these guys did an absolutely terrible job. First they showed up with a U-Haul truck instead of their own truck and charged me for the overages in time and extra fees. The truck was too small so I had to rent another truck even though I had told them all of the items and amount of rooms that needed to be moved. Second, I had to tell them to wrap things... This should be a given, I should not have to tell them to wrap my items to protect them. They also scratched my newly sanded hardwood floors. They broke my TV and then placed it in a closet to hide it. They smashed my barbecue by placing something too heavy on the top of it. I would never hire these people again and cannot believe they have good reviews. I suggest you hire someone else and save yourself the headache and keep your items safe. Funny story.... We bought a couch that didn't fit down the stairwell in our house. After trying to return it and couldn't, we started brainstorming what we could do to get the couch into the room we bought it for... Luckily we were doing some exterior house work and already had scaffolding erected and we're able to find JP Moving - one of the only moving companies willing to take on moving a couch from an upper floor to a lower floor via the outside of the house. I should mention that our house is built in a steep incline and the couch move was at least 35 feet above ground. JP Moving Services was super responsive and showed up on time. They strategized how we were going to lower the couch to the space below and wrapped it up in moving blankets and then plastic wrap to protect it. Despite the complex move, the POURING rain and it being 35 feet in the air, everything went as planned and we successfully got the couch in its proper room. I would hire JP Moving Services again, even if they bumped up their rate because they are so much more efficient than other moving services I've used. Movers were efficient, so a big thank you to the team for their help in moving. Nothing broke and the rate of 90 an hour is quite a deal, but this came at a cost.. Some things that could be worked on: Reliability - we communicated beforehand the move would be from 0730-1200, they arrived 15 minutes late, left at 1030, did not help unpack the boxes, and tried to charge for 4 hours despite only being here 2.5 hours. Transparency - quoted 90 an hour, Jiri did not clarify that time started whenever they picked up the U-Haul and driving distance included wherever they rented the U-Haul from, which doesn't seem fair since who knows where they would be renting the truck from? read more

Our Casper Cal King Mattress in a very large box got delivered. My wife and I could not take the large heavy box upstairs. It is very heavy 145 Ibs. I contacted J P Moving Services via Yelp. Jiri - the owner was able to come to the my house that evening. Jiri was able to pickup the large heavy box all by himself and brought it upstairs a few steps at a time. He is very strong ! Jiri then move the box into the bedroom. I cut open the box. Jiri took the compressed mattress out and rolled off the plastic wrap. He then placed the compressed mattress on our bed frame. I cut open the last compressed plastic and the mattress start to decompress. Mattress start to get bigger and bigger. Jiri then move the large deflated Cal King size mattress on the bed frame. "Giving credit where credit is due"! I needed an oversized sofabed moved to an upstairs living room, past a narrow porch at a Doelger home. Jiri responded immediately with the first non-exorbitant estimate (unlike the, "3 men with a 2 hour minimum" which is what I heard from every other moving company I contacted). They showed up on time, went straight to work and within a half an hour, I finally had my sofa in my living room (instead of in the garage, where it has been since the movers who relocated me left it when they couldn't get it past the porch.
